I think everyone here should fuk off. I mean if u hate good charlotte so much y did u even come to this dam site. Y waste ur time taking about someone you don't like. And another thing. if ur gonna say something about a band you should at least listen to there ENTIRE cd. but i must admit... lifestyles of the rich and the famous really isnt a good song. it has no meaning in its lyrics.

everyone needs to stop labeling!!!! who cares if a band is poprock, poppunk, punk pop. It doesnt matter. Y would u stop liking a band because theyre considered to be "pop". And as much as you say their not punk theres someone saying ur not punk. And to rock_star what does their apperance have anything to do with their talent. Your the teeny bopper.

But i also think good charlotte gets a bad name... dam people act like theyre a trend. As i read the beginning someone was saying how great gc was and all and after that someone said they liked the distillers and the gc fan didnt even know who they were! And i like gc for their lyrics. I can relate. But then i see some prep with gc and a nofx pictures in their licker and they dont even know half the lyrics. But not all of us are like that. Ill go to school wearing a gc shirt and people automatically think im a teenyboppy. yea... fuk u!

so if ur gonna write something here u could at least listen to one of their cds. instead of just saying their bad cuz of one song.

Jonny... u fukin rock... thanx 4 saying something smart

Suyen X, "pop-punk" is contradictory. It is a word that shouldn't even exist.

>>By Knoxville grl   (Saturday, 10 Jan 2004 19:31)

They really are not punk, but they are not pop, like avril, for example...
But i like their music, because their lyrics are mostly about things that hapen in highschool, and about feelings that you feel when you're young. And yeah, i think they're hot, but you can go on their show to watch them, or watch the video, but when you listen to their cd, it doesn't matter how they look.

Even if their music is considered pop, i'd still listen to them, because i will listen to them, not somebody else, and i don't get how you people made 22 pages just fighting if rockers, punkers and goths should listen to good charlotte...

Oh, by the way, AFI is great band, and they are not technical or whatever, maybe someone should try to understand their songs!

Even if their music is considered pop, i'd still listen to them, because i will listen to them, not somebody else...

When i wrote that i meant that I will listen to them, but if someone doesn't like them, he doesn't have to listen them and i don't care what others listen to, because i'm just myself

Okay people.. 1.) everyone is entitled to their own opinions....
but why take the time out of your day to talk about something that means absolutely NOTHING to you? Yes people get yer point and understand that you do not like Good Charlotte.. but no one says shit about bands that you like so why act like you're all bad ass by judging people by their interests??

Fuck labels. Also I know that there are alot of other bands that are better than Good Charlotte.. and how can you say what bands act like and why they came into the "business" so to speak when you have no clue.

Another thing: If you call Good Charlotte posers.. then maybe you should take another look at Avril... ick ((everyone's entitled to their own opinion.. and I'm not going to go on about how much I dislike her because I'm not that type. I get what I have to say out of the way in a few simple sentences.))

Some of you think you're all bad ass because you're going on about how much somebody sucks.. when some of you out there are sitting there in Abercrombie and Limited Too or whatever the fuck it is. These little name things are dumb. But whatever.

And man oh man.. the "omg they are like so hott" thing is getting quite old. You kiddos that are all saying that you are their number one fans and that i love benji or billy or joel or whoever.. you need to realize what you are doing. Because you're acting so much like teenyboppers.. and then you try to stick up for everything GC. But by doing that you're making the band look WORSE. Take that into real consideration because by being all into looks and saying omg I loooove GC!! and shit like that is only making the people who are in here to say stupid shit want to do it even more.

Ugh.. I just had to get this all out of the way and hopefully you people will realize that everyone has their own individual interests. But please .. and I'm BEGGING all you teenyboppers out there: stay away from here.. yer making matters worse.

There. I'm done. For now at least.

the only reason we talk bad about them is b/c its fun you dont have to spaz out geeses

>>By rock_star   (Saturday, 17 Jan 2004 00:12)

Damn. I think beauty_fiend was the spaz. Look at what she wrote. Totally unnesessary. Uncalled for.

>>By Montu - Sekhmet   (Saturday, 17 Jan 2004 00:35)

Oh dear... I'm not even going to dignify beauty_fiend with a sensible answer. *cough* Hypocrite! *cough*

on every music discussion theres always gotta be the downers who want to fuck with your head, yes we know you have your own opinion, we know you don't like them, we know you think that their not ''punk'' but please.. seriously grow up and shut the hell up cos we don't give a shit what you think.. GC are awesome.. they have a good style.. and they do what they wanna do.. if you have a prob.. go tell your shrink.

ummm hellp good charlotte is a great band! ;)

>>By Linkin park Rules   (Saturday, 17 Jan 2004 20:31)

ummm hello good charlotte is a bad band and whoever said listen to their whole cds I did and I couldn't find one redeeming factor and please people stop this whole "If you don't like them stop complaining and don't come here" thing because we have a right to be here and it isn't gonna change because this has been going on long before the Flork system came along.

>>By Emoboy2.0   (Sunday, 18 Jan 2004 20:35)

just one question, if you dont like the band, then y do u come in here?

>>By KaylaD   (Monday, 19 Jan 2004 06:46)

cuz its fun :)

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Monday, 19 Jan 2004 21:03)

Damn straight. If Good Charlotte didn't want people to diss them, maybe they should have written some decent music. I know some who likes GC, and she's really immature. I love her to pieces though!
People used to compare GC to Avril, but I hate GC and love Avril. Does Avril like GC? How about the other way around? What similarities do they have, if any?

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Monday, 19 Jan 2004 23:13)

How can you love Avril and hate GC? Avril is way worse than GC. About there lyrics, maybe not all there lyrics have an important meaning, but other people may consider their lyrics meaningful. Maybe "Girls and Boys" was retarded song but in some cases those lyrics are true. Avril and GC are totally different they have absolutely no similarities. And GC does not like Avril.

>>By Suyen X   (Tuesday, 20 Jan 2004 22:28)

Oh yeah...i need a GC fan to send me a message i need to ask some questions...

>>By Suyen X   (Tuesday, 20 Jan 2004 22:40)

Some of their lyrics try to be meaningful but they fail horribly why would you want to listen them attempt to sound meaningful when you can just listen to Thursday or AFI and get some damn good meaningful lyrics.

>>By Emoboy2.0   (Thursday, 22 Jan 2004 03:22)

I think that most of you make the littlest sense possible. Good Charlotte is just a group of people who want to make music. They aren't some company put together. If you don't like them, then that is your own opinion. I like them just as much as the next person. They have good music and you have to understand where they are coming from. I will admit some songs such as Riot Girl are just idiodic but most of there music are very serious. And that is why most people respect them. there are some other bands that may have better beats and guitar solos or bass boosters. But Good Charlotte brings out an important message about suicide. America has the highest suicide rate than any other continent. And we need people out there to help people not to do that. ive been thru it all.. its not that great, its selfish. but just understand that people need someone to look up to and say "i want to be like that"

>>By ForkInMyEye   (Monday, 2 Feb 2004 01:34)

pfft. Help? More like capitalize on teen angst. Hate to tell you music has turned into a business, the only people they are helping is themselves to your money.

>>By Emoboy2.0   (Monday, 2 Feb 2004 03:08)

GC 4eva!!!!!1 lol

>>By Undertone   (Monday, 2 Feb 2004 12:57)

"ive been thru it all" - do you mean you've committed suicide? And against odds of 20 to 1, you ended up in America in your next life! That is so gutting. I have to admit though, if I lived on the same continent as Joel Madden, I'd commit suicide too.
Oh yeah, and I'd like to surreptitiously say "GC 4eva" 2. Yeah, I would. GOOD CHARLOTTE FREAKA LEEKIN' ROCK!!!!!!!!

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Monday, 2 Feb 2004 21:21)

I actually finished downloading Hold On yesterday. Here's what I think of it:
The guitar at the beginning is horribly cheap, contrasting with the solo which is unjustifiably heavy. A question for fans: What's so heavy about the words "Hooold on!"?
And considering the song was probably written before Chris (is he still the drummer?) joined the band, it's not surprising that the drumming sounds so unprofessional. Whoever wrote that drum part was probably stoned at the time.
The singing actually does sound like whining. That's really lame and immature, but don't get me started on the lyrics. But then my review of this song would not be complete without something about those terrible words...
It's words like these that make people repeatedly put messages on this board saying that Good Charlotte should shut up. They do NOT go through all of the same things as every person who feels like hanging themself, overdosing, slitting their wrists or jumping off a bridge. There are all sorts of different causes for suicide, and Joel and Benji (all the songs are about them for crying out loud) have not really suffered anything which justifies this song. Don't get me wrong, I hate parents who walk out on their kids. Those people are evil. But I have no sympathy for those twins, and I actually hate their dad more for inspiring them to do this than for abandoning his children. Hey, maybe he even had a good reason for doing it. Anyway, when Benji says "we all", is he referring to the rest of the band or some invisible group of suicidal ghosts who inspired this song? I'm sure they're not bleeding, metaphorically or literally. Whatever they are missing, I'm sure they have the cash to buy it. What the Hell is he on about with that weird bit in the middle? Just singing random sentences with no real meaning; it sounds like it. "Do you know what you're doing to you?" Yes, I'm dissing you on a Good Charlotte discussion board. Oh, those lyrics are bad...
Well, that just about wraps it up for what I can say about Good Charlotte's performance. Please say so if I've missed anything out. It actually amazes me that it's badly produced as well. You'd think that their record label would at least hire them a decent studio and equipment, but apparently not. What gets me most is that their genre is described as "punk rock" when it is definitely pop... Are these guys having a laugh or what?
Good Charlotte suck in every way! But don't kill yourself - hold on and they'll disappear eventually. Enjoy good music until then.
