>>By Vavin   (Monday, 12 Apr 2004 18:57)

hmm yeah but they could play different nirvana songs not just the same songs over and over and over again

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Monday, 12 Apr 2004 20:35)

yeah i have to agree on that i would like to hear other nirvana songs on the radio not that i am tired of the ones there already playing (:

>>By Vavin   (Tuesday, 13 Apr 2004 13:59)

I'd rather be locked in a heart-shaped box.

Why is there so much empty space at the end of All Apologies on the end of In Utero?? You know, just before that other track... Gallons of Alcohol Flow Rubbing in Your Skin or whatever it's called.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Wednesday, 14 Apr 2004 17:27)

i dont know but id like to know as well

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Wednesday, 14 Apr 2004 18:09)

Nirvana are the best

>>By Ali likes cheese   (Sunday, 18 Apr 2004 14:18)

The reason the empty space is there is so you can go to the bathroom, leave the cd playing and not miss any of the trax while your gone.

>>By Squire   (Sunday, 18 Apr 2004 14:24)

hahahahaha really squire? hahaha

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Sunday, 18 Apr 2004 16:31)

Try it for yourself.......

>>By Squire   (Sunday, 18 Apr 2004 18:00)

It's over 20 minutes of silence. Surely you don't spend 20 minutes in the bathroom. I could eat my dinner in that time, if I actually bothered to eat my dinner so far away from my CD player that I couldn't hear it... And whatever happened to pressing "pause"?

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Sunday, 18 Apr 2004 18:33)

hahahahaha exunctly! thats really annoying..... theres no point in such a long silence..... dear me.....

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Sunday, 18 Apr 2004 22:05)

In the beginning of the 90ties there was a moment where it was hip to have a hidden track at your album, loads of bands did it. These songs were mostly only on the first presing. This was also the intention with the songs on the albums of Nirvana, but as Nirvana grew out to be so big later on they decided to do it on all the pressings...

Still some indie bands do it, putting extra songs on the first pressings, for the fans or collectors, or put an extra cd with out takes, or as with vynils colored in small quantities, or as Girls vs Boys did with one of their records, put a 7" inch...

I think that's the origin of the big silence in the records.....

You will find it also with a record of the Lemonheads, one sonic youth record (when I am not mistaken) and with a posies records, the so called "hidden" track....

>>By Campking   (Sunday, 18 Apr 2004 22:33)

aaah i hate hidden tracks! never seen the point in them.....

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Monday, 19 Apr 2004 00:18)

I've been listening to Nirvana since 1991/92, and still love Kurt's music 13 years later. How many of u guys have been listening to it that long? I'm a diehard. What I really hate is people who only got into Nirvana after Kurt died..

>>By LadyVenom   (Monday, 19 Apr 2004 00:36)

I have been listening to Nirvana since bleach, but I don't see the point. Loads of people had no choice but to start listening to Nirvana after Kurt died. Main reason: age! There are some amongst us on this list who were 2 in 1992. According to you they have no right to lsiten to Nirvana. You and I might have been amongst the first group of people to get to know the band, though I doubt it. This still doesn't mean we have anymore claim on Nirvana then any other. And that's what I really hate: people who claim a band, for they were there first. I myself made this mistake when I was 16 or 17, hating the people who went flirting around saying how hip they were because they listened to some bands that I had been listening to long before these bands became hip, but now I must say I came to my sences.. Music is for everyone to enjoy, no matter which moment you jumped on the bus. As long as you like the music for the music, and not because it makes you fit in the group.. Good music reaches millions, and will do so over ages....Knowing a band first doesn't make you any better music lover then any other music lover!

So again: What I really hate is people who claim bands as if they are the only true fans....

i agree campking! very well said!! i started listening to nirvana after kurt died because i was....really little when he died so, as you said, i have no choice BUT to start listening to nirvana after he died.

I was born in 1987 and now I love Nirvana. But my friend Aled (who is APPARENTLY very musical) says "They're shit. Listen to something decent like Damien Rice." Thanks a lot for that, Al. He likes Busted too.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Monday, 19 Apr 2004 17:11)

waait this "Al" is a boy but likes busted? hmmm...well he has a...interesting taste in music but hey whatever floats his boat!

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Monday, 19 Apr 2004 20:03)

Look at the latest post on the Busted discussion. It's by him.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Monday, 19 Apr 2004 20:09)

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Monday, 19 Apr 2004 23:28)

He used mine.

Damien Rice is indeed very good... but of a totally different categoy of music. Nirvana is musically not a great band, but it channels emotion in a certain way which makes it great. Damien Rice is technically very good, and thought over, but still channels the emotion very good, a different emotio though. D. Rice is more the menachollic and nirvana is defenatly anger (and maybe even fear). Therefor for me they are both great bands/artists, but not comparable...

>>By Campking   (Tuesday, 20 Apr 2004 01:23)

Nirvana is (I admit,) very overrated... I think people are more inspired by Kurt Cobain's life than they are by the music. Im not saying that I dont like the music, I'm just saying that it's overrated...Kurt's life was much more inspiring which I think is what attracts so many fans... yay people are going to contradict me now! Oh and by the way, if you were wondering, I'm just in a really good grammer mood.....
