Yeh, i agree with Jane. They wouldn't be gods of music to that many people if Cobain was still alive. But i'm gonna stop pushing that point now.

I often wonder how music would have evolved if Kurt never kicked the bucket. Many people argue that Nirvana were/are 'overrated' which may be true but I always say that's a lot better than no recognition at all!
I honestly believe Nirvana planted the seeds for a lot of modern music today, if they hadn't existed a lot of bands we know and love today wouldn't be around. You can't really prove me wrong on that, but hey that's my thoughts on the subject.

Absolutely, they helped set the standard for the nineties. I don't think real, earnest rock music has ever been as popular since and they deserve respect and recognition for that. But there have been better bands, that much is obvious to me.

Sometimes I think Smells Like Teen Spirit is the best song ever written. It's definitely the best Nirvana song. It captures a generation, a mindset. It's the definitive rock song.
