The new Nirvana album "Nirvana" is the biggest rip-off ever made. Please don't buy it, Kurt didn't want this album to be.

i love nirvana as much, if not more than u all but its wrong to accuse courtney kurt obviously loved her she was his wife and mother of his daughter, he died 4 them he figured if he wasnt around they wouldnt be descriminated and greifed out by the papers they wrote awfull stuff about him he didnt want his daughter to grow up in a world of shit and faulse accusations
he never wanted to be a rock star anywayz his comment "when i go onstage i feel as if its a job it doesnt give me the satisfaction like it gave to freddy mercury"
he formed a band cause he didnt want a job infact he despised working
he wasnt on drugs because he wanted to infact he tried to go to rehabs but his stomach pain was so terrable no drug could cure it only numb it for a while, a pain that lasted from when he was 11yrs old he was prescribed with downers because he was too hyperactive, but then he was too chilled so they gave him fett anaphetamine which was a bad combination which did eternal damage to his stomach causing him a life of pain

he has inspired me now im in process of forming a band i have guitar aswell didnt take me long to realise he wanted this in his word "u can do anything"

This is going to sound really bad but the besty thing that kurt did for nirvana was to kill himself. Although they enjoyed sucess in thier time period i don't think that they would still be enjoy that sort of sucess if kurt hadn't made that sort of 'statement'.
This may almost sound heretical but i speak as a nirvana fan and not as some whino with a copy of 'nevermind', a limited knowladge of kurt cobain and a hooded jumper that bears a symbol that i am not old enough to remember.

Kurt, dave, and krist were and still are the best band alive! Though kurt was MURDERED they still go on to be legendary,and the best. But one thing that all nirvana fans need to relise is that kurt in fact was murdered. All signs point to it, and if you are in fact a true fan,through heart,and soul you would know he was murdered.But cortney love was the cause of this, she didnt in fact murder him herself, but who in their right minds sell their beloved husbands journal, and suicde note, she says she still loves him and misses him, but if he didnt have frances and was still alive, im sure that courtney would be out of his life. I have so much more to say about the suicide note and nirvana its self, but i think ive said what i needed to say. And kep in mind that nirvana is nirvana and not just kurt cobain!

Well, I came across the group Nirvana back in the early 90's, around the time that the Nevermind album was released. I heard the song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in the supermarket where I worked at the time over the PA system...."after store hours of course" and I fell in love with the group. I went out and purchased the album and I was hooked. Sad what Kurt did to himself in the latter years though. Still, To this day, I cannot figure out what the hell he was talking about lyrically but still, good music.

to shane : i certainly know who sid vicious was, and for all you who dont, he was the bass player for the sex pistols. He allegedly shot his girlfriend Nancy, and OD'd before he could be put on trial. But saying that Kurt Cobain tried to copy him is absurd. I read Johnny Rotten's autobiography, and Sid Vicious was a fucking idiot. He was really jsut so friggin drugged up. Some people say he killed nancy, some say he didnt, I honestly dont care. all they ever did was go get high together and fuck. they had that in comon at least, also neither of them really had a purpose in life. Sid couldnt play bass for shit also. Sure maybe the recorded stuff sounds alruight, but live, man he just screwed around. SOmetimes he would jsut tone deafedly twang around. But hey ,Sex Pistols were truly punk. SO onto Kurt Cobain and Nirvana. FOr all those who are trying to say Kurt Cobain was killed by courtney, i think your all idiots. I saw an interview with Il Duce, and he said Courtney offered him ten k, I think it was, to snuff Kurt. Il Duce does not strike me as the type of cat to make stuff like that up. Who knows? Great tunes. Great band. Regarding an ealier post- I think all Kurt and Sid had in common was their personal habits. That and intense girlfriends.

the reason that kurdt is capable of inspiring such fevered debate (even from beyond the grave) is due to the fact that he was a truly amazing person who lived a life so raw and real that it would've easily destroyed the likes of his detractors in a couple short months. here are a few of what i regard as standout features/ qualilties/abilities in kurdt's life. the way i see it, unless you've got an extremely amazing support network around you, it's damn near impossible to remain in control when you've got these kinds of propensities/tendancies/talents/and pitfalls layered all around you.
1.)grew up poor in a broken home
2.)he was, from all recollections, an extremely talented visual artist as far back as anyone who knew him as a child could recall
3.)although he was known to exagerrate and lie at times, he was nonetheless usually deeply, personally, and painfully discursive about himself and honest about things that most people would never dream about revealing publicly- and IN SONG at that!
4.)coming from nothing, surrounded by nothing, he nonetheless persisted in putting his ass on the line to achieve what he believed in (i.e. a life as an ARTIST)
5.)he was faithful to those who were faithful to him.
6.)he was aparently about as close to fearless as a shrimpy guy like him can be. i.e. homey had BALLS. anyone who doubts this is invited to view the underground footage of him which has now been collected in several filmic summary docudramas. as you watch his brazen disregard for what most of us would refer to as his own "safety", ask yourself, is this really the behaviour of a pussy? if i was ever in a war, i'd rather have his ass next to me in the trench than sly stallone or arnold swarzennager anyday!this brings me to the next point.
7.)there was something decidedly wild, feral, and fearless-something altogether uncommon in this world of fear and plasticity- which resided within his soul and personality. it was not always rational, not always productive, and is usually a quite rare thing.
8.)up until his last act of ultimate violence, he seems to have pretty much contained his agression to HIMSELF. he was neither a bully nor an abuser and refrained from exporting his own pain onto others wholesale which (let's be honest) is usually the trend....that is, until he killed himself and wounded everyone who loved him and had some reason to count on him or hope for his eventual happiness....courtney, frances farmer, his fans, and etc.
9.)he was talented musically in a way which is quite rare and this is evidenced by the fact that he was a SINGER/SONGWRITER/LEAD GUITARIST. now a lot of you out there are probably saying, hey, I AM TOO!!! I WRITE ALL OF MY OWN MUSIC!!! and etc.etc.etc. but note: i said LEAD guitarist and there are truly DAMN FEW who can hold down that job while singing as it requires the brain to take on two very different melodies/structures/allotments and requires a mysterious cerebral rescource which very few actually posess AT ALL, much less in the abundance which he did. the only other person that springs to mind as having done it and done it as famously and as well was Jimi Hendrix. but despite the fact that Jimi basically killed himself too, nobody goes around slamming hendrix EVER....and if they do i've never heard it! one dies from the push of a plunger and one dies by the pull of a trigger. what's the fucking difference? i would posit (and also doubt that they would know what that word means) that NOT ONE of kurdts detractors would be capable of playing the lead lines of his more melodically complex songs while also singing the lyrics well. get the sheet music and see for yourself, it's not easy as standalone guitar work, but the way the vocal works through it makes it damn near impossible to do both. hendrix, i'm sure, could have done it, but certainly none of you f-ing presumptuous fools! and by the way, the unplugged material doesn't count cuz it was mostly "dumbed down" for the acoustic renderings and for that matter was rich with covered songs written by other people. kukrdt was deffinitely not a C chord, F chord, G chord rhythm rocker and had a true ear for sonic transcendance (and yes, that's my opinion).
10.)he was strangely humble. when he had the number one hit in the world, he was still sleeping in his beat up old car in a cold climate. in spite of the number one hit, there are no reports of him grubbing up to the labels for money. he was deffinitely into it for DOING IT and EXPRESSING himself ARTFULLY and with grave and brave IMMEDIACY rather than being a glitter hungry glam boy who was looking for fame, chicks, and etc. I.E. his motives were artistically genuine.
11.)he had a drug problem-simple as that- no debate there
12.)he had emotional problems- read the lyrics- no debate there either.
13.)he became rapidly and meteorically famous beyond (probably) the scope of his own wishes or desires (my opinion). and this is important because given all of the other realities of his life, i see this roughly as equal to giving Van Gogh millions of panty throwing screaming fans and a couple of lamborghini's and then asking him to go on ridiculously paced world tours! i really don't think that would have been "good for" Van Gogh any more than it was "good for" kurdt.
14.)kurdt's meteoric success came within one of the most corrupted and disgustingly rigged businesses in the whole world-one which is probably more corrupt than the enterprise of war itself because at least war is pretty straight forward about their shared mission which is to SUCK DRY and KILL everything which is not PROFIT.
15.)kurdt was a sensitive soul. pined away over a girl for years. was faithful. was described as sincere.
i'll stop there. as you can tell, i was (and still am) an appreciator of nirvana's music and of kurdt himself. i think the suggestion that kurdt had anything AT ALL in common with sid viscious is the most idiotic, uninformed, and foolishly misdirected kind of drivel currently available on the web.
something else too- courtney, although not nearly the interplanetary art anomally that kurdt was, is a million times the person and artist that nancy spungeon wasn't. sid viscious and nancy spungeon quite deserved each other and were both quite close to what i would describe as wasted human wreckage i.e. TRASH. as refference see the seminal punk video "rise and fall of western civilization" for what a couple of "jems" they both were. this film also includes a "live performance" or two by sid wherein he hits not one correct note at any time.
people who suggest that something other than kurdts own burden of talent, complexity, and painful darkness was to blame for his death have simply not done one lick of research into the whole business and are running their petty little idiotic mouths about something they are too lame and stupid to appreciate I.E. a genius who was in their midst. and you know what, it wouldn't be the first time.....hell, look at motzart!
