wow...it sounds amazing! again, you two are insanely lucky

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Sunday, 19 Sep 2004 13:44)

Yeah lets hope they do one of those loop-tours and come back to NZ so we get another concert. I know....not gonna happen! thats ok as long as they start recording asap, craving for a new album!
hey Lucy I read this review of the concert and it said Muse played for an hour and a half. Didnt feel like that, it felt more like 45mins but then again, i was in another dimension during the entire concert - the matt dimension :)

>>By muse junkie   (Monday, 20 Sep 2004 06:59)

i soooooooo wasnt that long - maybe including pluto - but not just them - if so - your rite - it felt much shorter :(
I WANT MORE MUSE!!!!!!

>>By Lucy Lion   (Wednesday, 22 Sep 2004 05:47)

Muse is a great band... I just can't get enough of "Hysteria"...

>>By Grazyl   (Wednesday, 22 Sep 2004 12:30)

bit of a mince though isnt he. wailing like a girl all the time.

>>By mr pumpie   (Wednesday, 22 Sep 2004 14:49)

Oh u did NOT just call Matt "a mince"!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's wrong with you? this is a Muse discussion board, its for fans!
Hysteria is a brilliant song Grazyl, they opened their NZ concert with it and it was awesome!

>>By muse junkie   (Thursday, 23 Sep 2004 00:16)

I bet it was awesome!!

One of their other songs I really didn't like though... I don't remember what it was called...

>>By Grazyl   (Thursday, 23 Sep 2004 02:32)

lion thinks muse junkie is rite - your like the ppl in the rasmus cat room telling ppl not to listen to them - and how they suck - whats up mr pumpie? y are you here?

>>By Lucy Lion   (Friday, 24 Sep 2004 05:51)

Muse has been listening too much earlier Radiohead. They sound like them. How interesting.

>>By Catri   (Friday, 24 Sep 2004 18:16)

to be fair, this isnt actually a discussion board just for fans... if we were all just going "omg matt is so hot, such and such is an amazing song, they were amazing when i saw them live etc etc" there would be no flavour to the discussion board! we need haters to keep it interesting although, you're right it is very very annoying....catri, that is not a new topic and they dont actually sound that much like radiohead I dont think

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Friday, 24 Sep 2004 19:36)

true true idontknowdotcom23, the discussion board is for everyone. however it is dominated by the fans and if people r gonna criticise Muse than they should come up with something better than calling Matt a mince who wails like a girl!!!!!!!
instead they could say that Muse sounds like Radiohead for the 100th time and we can for the 100th time say that 'no they do not'. esp in more recent albums although even Showbiz for me is a far cry from Radiohead.
sorry i have no love for the h8rs

>>By muse junkie   (Saturday, 25 Sep 2004 05:33)

I'll praise them before condemning them. Matt is a fantastic singer. No matter what I say about the group or Matt's style I'm still very jealous of his voice. Also, I disagree with the constant Radiohead comparisons. I've listened to nearly every Muse song and I see little relation with Radiohead. There could be some influence there but not much more. I think a bigger influence may be Queen. I think the group is really talented and has created a few gems over the years, but I think time may put a strain on thier abilities.

After listening to nearly every Muse song in a row I thought two things. One, I thought a few of the songs were repeated. Two, it all sounded like it came off the same album. I think Muse is a pretty one-dimensional band. Feel free to like them, but I can't give much credit until they break down a few walls. Also, Matt needs to stop treating every song he writes like a vocal triathlon. Every song seems like a variation on the exact same theme or mood.

I think thier name is kind of ironic. Apparently they have the ability to inspire millions of people, but they can't inspire themselves.

riiiiiiiiiight

>>By muse junkie   (Thursday, 30 Sep 2004 07:38)

so - we all like Muse then?

>>By Lucy Lion   (Thursday, 30 Sep 2004 11:44)

I don't know if we all do, but I do know that I do... I think I am going to buy Absolution & maybe Showbiz... Matt is a pretty good singer... Because he actually sings different from all those stupid MTV bands...

>>By Grazyl   (Thursday, 30 Sep 2004 12:35)

Yes we all LOVE Muse!
Grazyl you must definately get Showbiz, its brilliant!!!! Don miss out on Unintended, or Muscle Museum, or Uno, or Sunburn, or Cave, or Showbiz or....ok i'll stop listing now. he he

>>By muse junkie   (Thursday, 30 Sep 2004 23:09)

haha ooh i love showbiz....maybe more than absolution....i have suddenly fallen in love with muscle museum... its amazing.... such a pretty song, and the amazing video is just amazing....woo ok amazing

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Friday, 1 Oct 2004 20:42)

Thanks!!

I will have to put Showbiz on the list right now...

>>By Grazyl   (Saturday, 2 Oct 2004 03:57)

Yay 4 Grazyl!!!!!!!!!! And by the way, listen to Unintended first (its No 7) - and you will know what i mean....
I read somewhere recently that Sing for Absolution was written following a break-up of Matt's 6-year-long relationship. Is that correct? and more importantly he he does it mean that Matt is now single?

>>By muse junkie   (Saturday, 2 Oct 2004 08:08)

i think im going to do a big Muse shop this pay day :)
hey all its lucy lion - i have a new name now . . .

as if you didnt know . . .

>>By nite nite   (Monday, 4 Oct 2004 12:02)

Hmmm... I'm not sure of Matt's so called "disbanding"...

>>By Grazyl   (Monday, 4 Oct 2004 13:13)

no offence, this is a discussion room. not just a place where fans only can get together and drool. all it is is that muse have yet to learn subtlety and diversity. i keep an open mind, however, absolution was a good track. the singers a bit of a one trick pony though isnt he? at least the boys (radiohead) try a different approach each time they record something. cant argue with that, like.

>>By mr pumpie   (Tuesday, 5 Oct 2004 13:32)

Sure mr pumpie you can criticise Muse, but at least say something worthwhile (calling Matt a "mince" = not worthwhile).
Interesting you say Muse still need to learn subtlety and diversity. As for diversity in my view Absolution is drastically different to Showbiz, but i will accept that Showbiz and Origin have much in common. The 3 albums are incremental, each subesquent album explores themes that were merely signalled in the previous album. As for subtlety, i dont think Muse want to be subtle, i dont think thats necessarily a good thing in music, sometimes a total and obvious stimulation of all senses is needed.

aaaaaaaaaah

>>By muse junkie   (Wednesday, 6 Oct 2004 03:11)

I remember the first time I heard Muse's Uno on the radio, and I thought "This is Radiohead's new single, is it?"

>>By spikee   (Wednesday, 6 Oct 2004 03:30)

please dont kill me muse junkie, but mr pumpie has a point - the thing is, and this is y you cant kill me, is that we are just saying what we think - and so what if we say it over again in many differnt ways - its what we think - you keep saying the same thing to - and thats ok, coz thats what you think.

hi spikee

>>By nite nite   (Wednesday, 6 Oct 2004 13:07)

Ok ok, what has been going on here!! Matt is not a one trick pony! I think that his singing voice in absolution and Showbiz are quite different. But thats just my opinion. He has an amazing singing voice. But seriously, is there any need for pathetic insults like calling him a "mince".There is no point.

Anyway, on a lighter note, Did anyone hear that Muse won best live act in the Q awards, and they definately deserved it. They are the most amazing band i have ever seen live. And they have been shortlisted for 2 mtv awards!!!

By the way, i no im a bit slow but ive only just read all these messages on this discussion.

>>By devon_girl   (Sunday, 10 Oct 2004 17:48)

Muse rox hard i have no clu what ur talking about mr pumpie go back to ur cellar. Muse doesnt sound at all like radiohead and i personally think that radiohead is more monotonous than Muse. every song of Muse's is different- they have stuff like Hysteria (which i like even more now with the video they play on mtv (u know the one with the blood cells and neurons..)) all the way to songs like Unintended and Sing for Absolution. God
*note capitalization of Muse and all Muse songs
hehe

>>By u r_a_tard   (Monday, 11 Oct 2004 09:55)

I think that they do sound a little bit like Radiohead... But they do have a harder sound than Radiohead...

>>By Grazyl   (Monday, 11 Oct 2004 13:14)

yeah i agree Grazyl... i think matt looks like thom yorke....
