I think it would be a good idea if bellamy split muse up and started composing classical music

>>By thom   (Sunday, 16 May 2004 16:57)

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. That would be disasterous!

>>By muse junkie   (Wednesday, 19 May 2004 04:40)

Muse are just a heavy version of Radiohead. If they split up, only hardcore Muse fans would listen to Matt Bellamy's classical music, although it would probably be rather good.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Wednesday, 19 May 2004 11:44)

Yeah, ditto

>>By kathy_moose   (Wednesday, 19 May 2004 12:49)

Well, maybe. His songrwriting is so evidently influenced by classical music and that's what I like about them. And since I disapprove of their "heavy metal" guitar sound, it seemed like a good idea.

>>By thom   (Wednesday, 19 May 2004 22:33)

oh i love muse but who else thinks that matt bellamy looks like a....weasel or something?

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Wednesday, 19 May 2004 23:18)

I think he looks more like a human and doesn't resemble a weasel in any way, shape or form.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Wednesday, 19 May 2004 23:45)

Muse are not just a heavy version of Radiohead. Muse are not a version of anyone, they are their own original band. How many times do we have to go through this people?

MB resembling a weasel? Disturbing. I actually think he has very sexy intellectual look about him. He looks like a thinker, I like that.

>>By muse junkie   (Thursday, 20 May 2004 01:46)

I agree.How many times.....

>>By supfur charminman   (Thursday, 20 May 2004 14:56)

Really. If muse were nothing more than a radio head copy(heavier or no),I for one would not give them the time of day(rad hed being a favourite of mine).Muse are sht hot all by themselves.......

>>By supfur charminman   (Thursday, 20 May 2004 15:04)

Check out the vocals in Radiohead and Muse. Then tell me the difference... I've yet to spot one.
I don't think he looks like a weasel OR like a thinker. He looks like someone who's slightly pissed off with the world, but only slightly. There should be a scale for this sort of thing. then I'd bloody well categorise his appearance.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Thursday, 20 May 2004 15:10)

i hate to get drawn into this sort of thing(not).
Well technically Matt has the better voice(range power etc).Personally i love what radhed do, but muse are good in there own right .And i don't hear that much simularity between the band's when you consider the colour, style and theme of the music, let alone the nuances.
Also matt fill's out the sonic space using mostly 1 guitar, radiohead have 3 guitar's(potentially)......

Slightly pissed off YES
weasel NO
a scale, good idea!

>>By supfur charminman   (Thursday, 20 May 2004 17:36)

also, i like matt's use of scales.

>>By supfur charminman   (Thursday, 20 May 2004 17:37)

Matt looks like a weasel??

Meh

If MUSE were just a heavier version of Radiohead, wouldn't they jus..Argg, lost my vocab, damn cold!!!...not get as much respect as they do??(I think!)Don't get me wrong, I do love Radiohead as much as MUSE!!

I mean, you can see MUSE have Radiohead amongst many other influences - particularly baroque music, where you get the whole classical music from..

I hate having a cold!!Arggg!

>>By kathy_moose   (Thursday, 20 May 2004 22:06)

Yes well said kathy(get well soon).

So no more "muse are a copy"issues(hopefully)good.

showbiz and plug in baby...class.

>>By supfur charminman   (Thursday, 20 May 2004 23:32)

The Muse/Radiohead comparison is now a sealed discussion. Let it go.
There should be a scale for people who look pissed off with the world? What? We are all pissed off with the world.
Matt looks smart, he looks sophisticated, he looks like someone who doesnt think about life peripherally. That's what makes him so damn appealing, to me anyway.

>>By muse junkie   (Monday, 24 May 2004 00:41)

Indeed!

Cheers suphur charminman, I'm almost completely better now!:-)

>>By muse junkie   (Wednesday, 26 May 2004 06:11)

YEY matt's face is all ok!

>>By your_name_here15   (Thursday, 3 Jun 2004 01:29)

haha yay is it? no scars or anything? and exactly how did he manage to hit himself with a guitar in the face in the first place?

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Thursday, 3 Jun 2004 12:47)

I think Muse are weird, but in a good way. I love the way Matt can almost scream and still be singing that’s class vocals for you. Did he really manage to hit himself in the face with a guitar?

>>By PatchworkDove   (Thursday, 3 Jun 2004 12:55)

Yeah he was jumpin around r sumting n i saw him on "gonzo" on mtv2 last week n hes still sex!yeyyyy!yeh theyr weird bt hey its more fun2 be weird than normal n boring and i agree they ROCK!!

>>By your_name_here15   (Thursday, 3 Jun 2004 20:07)

Aw bless. I think they make really cool videos too. New Born and Sing For Absolution are interesting but the videp to In Your World hurts my eyes >_< and thats why the weird is good, yah!

>>By PatchworkDove   (Thursday, 3 Jun 2004 21:02)

Absolution is such a sublime vid...

>>By kathy_moose   (Friday, 4 Jun 2004 18:41)

Muse are good, weird but good, maybe an acquired taste but some of their intros are brilliant, i dunno, kinda sitting on a knife edge on these guys, i seen the absoloution vid and yeah its cool, its weird coz its one of those songs that gets better when you watch the vid!

>>By Breaker_17   (Friday, 4 Jun 2004 19:12)

I caught the tail end of the Sing for Absolution video which is a shame given that music channels where I live play Muse about 3 times in a year. I have however seen the Hysteria video and I think its great.

Its intersting Breaker_17 how you say you are 'sittting on a knife egde' on Muse. I find that a lot of people are like that. I absolutely loved them the first time I heard them but heaps of people take time to really get into them and others just sit on the fence forever.

>>By muse junkie   (Thursday, 10 Jun 2004 01:40)

How can muse just be a heavy metal version of Radiohead :-/
I hate Radiohead... They depress me and the singer sounds so whiney.
Also, the riffs Muse tend to use have a kind of Eastern European thing going. I like that, it's interesting.
Anyhow, Muse rule, but they aren't my favourite band - that would be Lacuna Coil.

>>By Azurael   (Saturday, 12 Jun 2004 03:05)

I agree with you muse junkie that muse is one of those bands that can take a little while to get used to-I know the first time I heard them I thought it was werid, not to mention that I heard them in one of my friends hard core screamer song mixes. yuck. Then after I heard them more and more I liked them more and more and now they are my favorite band. Muse is life. Well, kinda. But when people listen to Muse for the first time, you cant judge them based on hearing one song-u gotta hear a lot to really get a good picture of who they are---from thoughts of a dying atheist to new born to unintended muse music has a huge variety and once you listen to it all you will be addicted. like me

>>By u r_a_tard   (Saturday, 12 Jun 2004 06:38)

does no 1 here ever say ne thing?

>>By u r_a_tard   (Tuesday, 15 Jun 2004 03:21)

Yeah, soz u r_a_tard, jus finished exams last week, so I'm jus gettin back into the whole fourm thing again...

Anyways, yeah, you're very right! It took me a couple of songs to really get into MUSE - I mean, my bro played the Showbiz album in his room, and I used to listen to it as well, 'cause we're practically into the same kinda stuff, so yeah, after listening to the whole album, I was hooked!!

And Azurael, Radiohead aren't depressing!!!Everyone just uses that same crappy excuse for not liking their style!!!Jeese Louise!!!
