Muse are extremely talented and any band trying to do a cover of one of their songs... just wouldn't happen because they're so complex. But Matt Bellamy's just lets the band down. And when I saw them live in December, he put the same piano solo in front of every song and after one or two songs it sort of... you know, got a bit repetitive.

MATT BELLAMY MAKE MUSE WHAT THEY ARE TODAY!!!!jesus how dare you say he lets them down.he does NOT put the same solo, give an example??sure some things are going to be a bit similar but if you haven't already noticed Sk8a H8a "the gr8" HES MORE TALENTED THAN MOST ROCK STAR MUSICIANS!!!!!absolution is of really high standard,i agree it isn't their best album,but fucking deadly none the less.its just a more relaxed feeling listening to it,its sounds very studio-orientated but still ROCKS!!!!

What an awesome discussion board. Seems filled with people who appreciate high quality music. I was shocked to read one entry that states Muse is great but Matt lets it down. Regardless of whether it was you who posted it or someone who used your account, I'd just like to clarify that Matt is Muse. He writes the lyrics and the lyrics are (at least) half the reason why this band is so amazing. He's also the pianist and the uniqueness of the incredible Muse sound is, in some part, due to the use of the piano. He is the voice which is beautiful, pure and simply mesmerising. All 3 members are fantastic and have their talents which undoubtedly contribute to the music that we love so much, but Matt is invaluable and irreplaceable!!!

oh my god that was THE greatest night of my entire life. The atmosphere in the Olympia was fucking unreal. One girl fainted in the mosh pit but she looked like she was on heroin b4 muse even started so yeh! when matt started Plug in Baby at the end of the show the crowd went fucking WILD,it wasn't just your normal deathmetal moshing, everyone ws jumpin in time wit each other it ROCKED. about 3 songs in Matt's amp BUSTED!lol he had 2 run off stage and they fixed it in about ten mins. During that 10mins Dom and Chris did this solo thing facing each other it was soooo classic!i bought an absolution chain and tshirt. i am commanding you people to go and see muse live i swear to fucking stan/mohhammid/jesus wotever that that WAS THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!EVER!!! the played Thoughts Of A Dying Athiest!and as i predicted Stokholm Syndrome last ahhh im so happy! =D

Green with envy but so so happy for you. You are still buzzing hard which is fantastic. Would do anything to see them live properly (gig at BDO just doesn't suffice). Excellent that they left the most powerful song for last.

yeh matt did the "rock hands" thing with a big smile as he left the stage cos the irish crowd wer chanting soooooo loud(i was one of them). go to "www.muse.mu" then search the site for tour dates and you'll get there!!seriusly everytime i evn THINK of matt i get hyper now!dom is soooo hot in real life too!for time is running out i went fucking mental in the mosh pit and for sunburn and hysteria!!they played Muscle Museum =D. the Olympia wasnt that big, around 1000 people like!!but it ws soo much better that way, like it was just soooo cool!im so going2see them again whenever they come back 2ireland!

I guess some people just don't appreciate true originals... and no this does NOT include Muse. They are an amazing band at first glance, but they are like Creed coming out after Pearl Jam... Maybe if Pearl Jam never existed, Creed would sound better... but the fact of the matter is from one musician to another - a rip off is a rip off. Muse ripped off Radiohead, or to be more precise they ripped off Thom Yorke. I think the singer should sign all of his royalty checks over to Mr. Yorke! I mean, it is not easy to imitate Mr. Yorke's voice, but I guarantee there are thousands of coverbands who could do what Muse is doing, so while they are a good listen, any self-respecting music lover should not respect this band!

Thom Yorke and Matthew Bellamy hav totally diffrent voices, royalty checks2radiohead.....em yeah r u just trying 2 sound like sum noble music master/expert r sumting. What is up with DiscipleOfTruth? "I guess some people just don't appreciate true originals" ???? Yeah YOU buddy! You need to recheck your sources of information. Muse were initially COMPARED to Radiohead but they quickly departed from that style and no one is bothering to even compare them to Radiohead any more. They never imitated Radiohead, they never ripped off Radiohead. They are original, their music is amazing.
As for the derogatory "any self-respecting music lover should not respect this band" I can only suggest that once you have read this reply and the one by your_name_here15 you use your mouse to click out of this board and not bother coming back. Muse h8rs not welcome here.

I think radiohead and muse are both great,but to say muse are a radhed copy is silly.O.k there are some simularities e.g both are from the same country and make good original music using musical instruments.For me it ends there.Matt's guitar playing is shthot and me think's a cover's band would struggle to reproduce what Matt does on stage."Diciple of truth"... that's really funny.

Only got their latest album and i love it to bits. To say they're awesome is trully an understatement. just by listening to their latest, i can hardly contain my exitement to see them in august.... i'm just counting down the days... i must i must i must get their other albums!!!!!!!

A special note to your_name_here15: Radiohead "drone on a bit"???Excuse me???Surely can't you hear the Radiohead influences in MUSE???Radiohead are an amazing band!!! - Enough said!!!
Anyways!!I'd just like to say that MUSE has soo many influences - that's why they're such a great band!!!In my opinion, one of the greatest British bands at the mo'!!!
They pull all the best bits of rock, hard rock, blues, baroque all together, and present it with meaningful lyrics and powerful musicianship - Matt Belamy can't even read music!!!And you see him playing stuff like Space Dementia on the piano - soo hard to play!!!He is such a genius!!!Anyone who begs to differ should be slapped with a wet fish!!!
MUSE are, by far, the best band I've seen in concert!!!Placebo did a very good effort in the Astoria (I think!) a couple of months ago, and they nearly matched MUSE!!
I was so blown away by their energy and raw talent - you can't really experience that, unless you see 'em live for yourself!!! I really regret not getting standing tickets, although I was really close to the stage!!It just wasn't the same!!!Soo glad I went tho'!!Damn shame they're not playing at Reading this year!!!
