So true, idontknowdotcom23 Radiohead and MUSE are both exceptional in their own styles of music.

Jus' don't forget that bands all have their influences!;-) That's what makes 'em great!Great musicians will say themselves that they are influenced by X, Y and Z!

Totally agree with Azurael's point on the Eastern European influence. The opening bars of 'Hysteria' are totally Eastern European, in my view anyway. Arent Muse just great in amalgamating different sounds?

Endlessly is the greatest love song ever written - just though I'll put that out there.

I still hold that their main influence was Radiohead.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Thursday, 17 Jun 2004 12:34)

Indeed Sk8a H8a and muse junkie

>>By kathy_moose   (Thursday, 17 Jun 2004 23:22)

I just thought I would add that although I wouldnt say that radiohead is at all like muse, the members of muse have said that they do like and listen to tom yorke and that he has had an influence on their music. one more thing-i do like radiohead a lot, but it can be kinda hard to listen to their music for more than 30 minutes at a time but i can listen any muse cd all day and still not get bored with their style cuz it is so much more varied than that of radiohead

>>By idontknowdotcom23   (Saturday, 19 Jun 2004 12:25)

Yeah, Radiohead are varied, although I'll admit Muse are perhaps a bit more varied than them.

>>By u r_a_tard   (Sunday, 1 Aug 2004 05:15)

Well the forum should come back to life because: Muse.....r......coming........to.....New Zealand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay I'm gonna see them live, finally! Sept the 14th! Ahhhhh they're watching me from above.......

So those lucky souls who have had a chance to see them live, tell me, what can I expect???

>>By muse junkie   (Tuesday, 3 Aug 2004 00:39)

Expect an absolutely fantastic concert. They put so much energy into their shows, and it really does show... You'll be gobsmacked and speechless by the end of it....At the end of their show in Wembley, I was totally blown away....Words cannot express!!!

>>By kathy_moose   (Tuesday, 3 Aug 2004 16:25)

Is it true that Matt runs from instrument to instrument, and engages in aerobatics during Plug in Baby? Ha ha, would love to see that!

And what about the playlist for the Absolution tour? Just wanna make sure they'll play my favourites.....

>>By muse junkie   (Thursday, 5 Aug 2004 02:37)

I heard Absolution and it's the only Muse album that i've come across so far. I was actually pretty impressed with the way he integrated all different voices to form pure vocal bliss. I've heard similar music before, but Matt has a unique way of putting the instruments together and having his harmonies creep up behind the distortion. A Perfect Circle did something pretty similar with the song "Vanishing" on their latest album. I think that Matt is prolly my new favorite vocalist under Maynard and I can't wait to check out more of their material to find out what they're really about. Apocalypse Please is the best song on the album in my opinion.

Yay a new Muse fan! Welcome Jia

>>By muse junkie   (Thursday, 12 Aug 2004 07:16)

it was weird-i never heard Muse played anywhere public before and then today i heard them on the radio AND in a store in the mall. Muse approaching main stream music in the U.S. Now is that a good thing or a bad thing..

>>By u r_a_tard   (Monday, 16 Aug 2004 06:22)

they already are kinda mainstream in the UK... i dont care though, the music is still amazing :)
