each album has very different qualities,if you want to try a cross section "And love said no" is a compilation, with some of their greatest songs.

mayeb you should try some songs first not the albums
so maybe start with gone with the sin(my fav)
and heartache everymoment
close to the flame
and so on or better ideea try to find the whole videos and listen to the music of the ones who have videos

love metal was the name of H.I.M's cd in 2004, that's all ,because they used that cd to show there influences of groups such as black sabbath.,and I agree stuff on their earlier work such as dsbh,is a lot more balled orientated ,with rock elements,in general him are more of a rock band,but there are also pop influences and goth influences from the 80's when Ville was growing up. And that is why they are never boring, they change their sound.
