ya its kool that they changed the style of the beat but the words are what bothers me (and moka)...i dont like mad saying bling bling and caddilac and shit like that. ha i keep repeating myself but o well it makes me sad when i listen to balance and theyre other cds lol...prev still kicks ass!!

Holy shit! I can't believe this! Not too long ago no one even knew what battleaxe was. I absolutely can't believe what I've read here! Swollen members can't even be considered underground by a far stretch if all these little girls are worshipping them. And what's up with someone saying they were doing a concert with that overblown pop princess Avril Lavigne? I think I feel my heart breaking.
Yesterday I saw a music video with Nelly Furtado?! And what's up with Moka Only? Is he part of the picture now too? It sounds like you kids and your hero worship of pop icons is turning one of my favorite duos into more of the same overplayed garbage you see every day on MTV.

It's true that they are pretty much mainstream now but there isnt that much money in the underground buisness. And where have you been the past few years? Moka joined them in the summer of 2002.

Ok, now I've read over some of the comments made here, and I have to agree with quite a few of them. Jane, I know wat you mean when you say "sometimes listening to bd and balance makes me sad". They have changed a lot, and personally, I like their first 2 albums best too. Dont get me wrong, I love Heavy, its still an awesome disc, but its just not the same as their others. And yes, now Moka Only is part of Swollen. I like him, and mabye he could be the reason that their sound is so different now, but hopefully they try to go back, and work him into it. And ive read that Moka was in SM at the beginning, but he left to work on his solo stuff. Then came back. But I could be wrong, please correct me if I am.
Thats all I have to say for now, and Im sorry if I just repeated things that youve herd from other people, i havent had time to read all the discussion yet.

Oh hey Justin its nice to meet you! Yeah I don't know if Moka was originally part of Swollen but you never know! Yes i agree, heavy still is an awesome disc! But the track all night dissapoints me, espeisally ( I dont know how to spell that ) Prevs Verse. " Who wants to fuck?" But yes I hope too that they will go back to the oldies. I mean a few like Bad Dreams and Balance would be ok. Even MITC seemed the same but Moka was still officially part of the group. It might be better if Moka's only in a few songs. Steppin' Thru, Breathe, Red Dragon, Bring It Home, Fuel Injected Remix, Crunch. And if there others then yes. But i love them all and there is no turning away. haha hey guys im back sorry i havent been on here for a while but ya know ive been kinda busy..Yes i agree that that their first cd's are better and everything but now that i read what jane said i guess i am kinda happy they changed because it would kinda get boring if they did all the same stuff but i still think that they should do some of their songs like their old ones but whatever they still are awesome and i will like them for a loooooooong time yeah jane haha i am addicted to swollen too...about the fiona thing i dont think that madchild and her are going out any more because in heavy madchild talks about being single a lot..but ya never know..i am soooo glad that prev didnt have that baby with nelly f...did you know that prev, moka and nelly all used to be friends when they were 14! and it just turns out that they all turned out to be famous lol...but i think ive written enough..Talk to you all later..

oh by the way you crazy fans out there, just to prove what the hell i'm talking about. check this out, they used to call SHOW AND TELL then found out some other band got that name. they then release their first album under WHAT THE HELL? as a respond to their first attempt name and then formed SM. (just to be precise, prevail joined up after WHAT THE HELL?) everything they've done from there was gold but after BALANCE....all you lame ass fan join the hype and it's all down hill. well...i guess, that's what make this world is so beautiful. and that's the reason why we have britney spears and el-p, good and evil, bush and us, get my drift... bottom line is, thanks to you all lame ass that make the music i listen to so special. good luck kids!

How could you say something like that about Swollen Members??? Ok I agree Balance is a kick ass cd and I bought it. But its a thing called supporting the group you like. Bad Dreams is also and amazing cd, it is my favourite cd out of all of them. Its a bit harder to keep making the same style of music for like 4 years. Plus they need to discover some new stuff for there future albums. Monsters in the Closet is also a kick ass cd. They have changed things around with Heavy but it's still good. So I'm saying what Madchild said:

Ok, I think everyone can agree that Balance and Bad Dreams was their best work, so I think we have talked that idea to death. If you disagree, please say so. And to the Critic, I guess I can respect the opinion of someone who says they dont like Swollen Members, but if you talk that much trash, and hate it that much, just dont listen to it. I'd care about what you said, if you actually had a good reason to put them down like that. Most of what you wrote was about how they changed their name cuz it was already taken. Ok... interesting fact? mabye. Reason to hate them? No. I doubt that changed the opinion of anyone here. And yes, even I'll admit their stuff has gone downhill a bit. But thats because there is no way they could've gone up from Balance and Bad Dreams.

All you kids are missing the point. Battleaxe was a badass, hardcore institute (for lack of a better word). All that battelaxe is, is twisted and warped by your pop-icon-esque comments like "Oh Madchild is soooo hot!" That's not what it's about. It's about "takin it back to the essence" (to quote off of what you see as one of their best artistic creations)
But do you even listen to the message? You shouldn't be here mooning over these guys. Drive around, spark a bowl, crank up the volume, and just listen. . .
Then maybe you'll understand.

K i do listen to the lyrics and the messege in the songs but its still not a crime to think madchild is hot..and yes i agree with Jane it would be hard to do the same stuff for 4 years and even though they got worse when they changed it was their choice they might like their new stuff..its not our desion and if they wanna keep making music thats like the stuff on heavy they can do that..ill still love and respect them.

I do Listen to the lyrics. How can I not when I listen to Swollen Members ALOT! Over and over and I never gte tired of a song. People complaining about Heavy and other stuff on here is most likely not going to change anything. I know this is a discussion board meant for all types of opinions. But don't be harsh on the fans. You can say what you want about them but its's not going to see my mind because I look beyond that bad things. It's not like at there concerts they are never going to perform there old classics. When I went to the Ludacris concert they openend with Anthrax Island and I thought how they ending with Lady Venom was just brilliant! When you see them your like " wow there they are" They work the crowd! Prevail tried crowd surfing and they dropped him by accidnet but he got right back up. It was incredible!! Thye really get the crowd going. Even the non-swollen fans were like rockin to the beat. They are amazingly energetic!! I love them so much.
