Open your eyes people. Swollen Memebers, formely Vancouvers finest, but now. they're a disgrace to vancouver and hiphop. I don't know if any of you notice but thier last 3 singles (Fuel Injected, Bring It Home, Steppin' Thru) are all pretty much the same. a crappy tehcno party beat with meaningless lyrics. And then moka tainting his legacy as the most prolific rapper of all time. Swollen used to make honest music, now it's just to seel records to 13 year old girls. I don't think there is any hope for them, once you get a taste of money and fame, there isnt much of a chance you'll go back. Swollen are just another victim in the business of rap.

Just been peeping the newish album Bad Dreams. Very well done. I have to complement on the production tip. Evidences beats are incredible! I think that was a big dimention in this album, as well as him producing some of the first one too. The Joey Char beats are dope as well! Im guessing the remix of Take it Back was a joey char beats aswell? Rob's beats are starting to grow on me. I didnt like some of his beats on the first album, but I have to say, they pretty dope now. I think the concept having Moka Only sing on Bad Dreams was a little bit different and I was qiute surprised at that. I didnt like it. I was expecting the dude to release some mad venom, and he sung! I have to say, It was good that you tryed something different. I missed out on the opportunity to see Moka when he came to Brisbane! I was dissapointed with that one. He came out with that FULL DOPE Mya Jupiter! Shes a straight up honey!
The thing I like about your style is it's different. Sometimes I wonder whats in Madchilds head... I also noticed more swearing from him in this album. He seems alot more angry and shit! I rekon it's dope when artists dont curse, but each to there own! I feel this album was a bit rushed perhaps?
Anyway...
Its still dope! Well done and come to Australia! We are really felling your music down here!

yes i know all about swollen members and what they did. i've been listening to swollen for like 3 or 4 years until they started putting out this crap.
and no i can't right a verse if my life depended on it. But that doesn't mean anything. Does that mean i cant say what music is good and what isnt?
Now if you know anything about what is good music and what isnt go listen to Balance (One of my all time favourite albums) and then listen to thier
new crap. you tell me which is better and tell me thier music hasnt change drastically. they had potential to be the great emcee's that have ever come
out of vancouver, but now...well, thier sell outs.

I love Swollen Members. I fell in live with Madchild .I saw them live@much And they rocked the house.I heard that song ''Lady Venom''Thats when I fell in love with them.I have their 2nd and 3rd album.They rock and for all the people that think they suck.. Get A Life!!!!!!!!!!And use it....

I am not 13 but im 12 i dont care u guys think im a lil girl in love with mad child or sumthin like that but im not. The first song i herd by swollen members was lady venom and i just fell in love with their music! I have both the cds monsters in the closet and bad dreams i listen to their music 24 7 and a my wall is covered with pics of swollen members so that just goes to show u that im a really big fan even tho im only 12!

Joe's absolutly right about their last 3 singles: From bad to worse, to unbearable. All three of their singles (and even Take It Back) are brutal pop songs. But that's how they sell records. Bad Dreams has pokerface, dark riders, bad dreams, burns and scars, snake bite, full contact; which all make up for their crappy singles. They even re-released Bad Dreams, which is pretty low. Monsters in the closet is retarded, its 60 minutes, yet they cut down songs like Members Only (download it from Defenders of the Underworld I bleive, its longer), then they admit to cutting out whole songs (the capitol, the best verse on the disc, should've been a damn song). Doesn't make much sense. The next single is going to be Breath with Nelly... but at least that song has some merrit. All I can say is that Album #3 better not sell out to the extent of Closet Monsters

I never called any of you 13 year old girls. What i said was that swollen members are trying to sell records to 13 year old girls. And breathe is possibly the worst excuse for a song i've ever heard. How anyone can say that song is good is beyond me.
Balance = One of the best hiphop albums that i have heard...
Bad Dream = had a few good songs but was pretty much crap.
Monsters in the closet = just plain crap.
The only good songs on monsters in the closet were released years ago. But the new songs on monsters in the closet are almost unbearable to listen to.
I can't believe that some people say that swollen's best songs are Bring it Home and Steppin'Thru...
And by knowing Madchild's and Prevail's name doesnt make you a "true fan"...

In my honest opinion, Swollen Members started going to sh*t when Moka Only started with them. I'm worried that on their next album all the songs are going to sound like Fuel Injected, Bring It Home, and Steppin Thru. Yes, I like those songs. Fuel Injected is my second favourite Swollen track, but honestly, if they keep putting that stuff out time and time again they are going to get real old real fast. I've come to realize that I don't really like Swollen Members anymore. I like Mad Child and Prevail. The only thing that could make me actually start to accept Moka Only is if he drops the singing, or maybe limits it to 1 or 2 songs on the album, and actually raps. He raps in Breath and does really well. Also, his song Red Dragon from MITC is so kick-ass. If he can rap like that full-time I will accept him and actually like Swollen Members again. Until then I only like Mad Child and Prevail, the ORIGINAL and REAL Swollen Members.
