I find some points of Origin of Symmetry to be rather weak... Absolution is a stronger album, as is Showbiz

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Thursday, 17 Mar 2005 16:33)

I agree with Abso being stronger than Origin....dunno about Showbiz tho....

>>By muse junkie   (Thursday, 17 Mar 2005 23:00)

Oh I think Origin of Symmetry is their best. Mostly because of Citizen Erased.

>>By Flagg   (Thursday, 17 Mar 2005 23:01)

From album to album, I think you really see that they get more mature. I think Absolution is much more meaningful than the others.

>>By Mrs.Bellamy   (Friday, 18 Mar 2005 02:36)

meh, Absolution isnt their greatest album. However, each album has its highs and lows (but being Muse, there are always more highs than lows).

>>By devon_girl   (Saturday, 19 Mar 2005 14:51)

I love Citizen Erased but I find the rest of the album to be a bit weak, whereas Absolution doesn't have any serious weaknesses and neither does Showbiz - Absolution seems stronger on the lyrical and musical side and Showbiz has more depth of feeling in my mind...

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Saturday, 19 Mar 2005 22:27)

I think I prefer Showbiz to Absolution, it just seems fresher....

>>By future ruler of the world   (Tuesday, 22 Mar 2005 16:41)

Absolution goes on a bit. And the 'Intro' and 'Interlude' make it seem.... not really pretentious, but as though it should be epic, bigger in scale, when it isn't. I can't think of any really weak points on Origin... I think it just has the feel of a great album.

>>By Flagg   (Tuesday, 22 Mar 2005 21:52)

I like the songs on Absolution rather than the album itself... I find Origin boring to listen to, whereas Absolution is possible to listen to more than once in a row

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Thursday, 24 Mar 2005 19:49)

Ah well, I find all my favourite albums sound good as a whole. There could be an album with all great songs, but sometimes the album as a whole just doesn't sound right. In fact, that's what Absolution is for me.

>>By Flagg   (Thursday, 24 Mar 2005 22:51)

Yeah, same here...

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Friday, 25 Mar 2005 00:27)

I think Aboslution is pretty grand and epic. It'll be interesting to see what they do next.

>>By muse junkie   (Wednesday, 30 Mar 2005 01:36)

yeah, i heard that matthew was putting in some sort of spanish vibe in their new album, and they're gonna try some new songs out on their campus invasion tour, so I can't waitt!!

>>By Mrs.Bellamy   (Wednesday, 30 Mar 2005 04:22)

Spanish vibe? Brilliant!!!!!!

>>By muse junkie   (Wednesday, 30 Mar 2005 05:30)

yeah, he's trying to make their next album more "upbeat" rather than the apocalyptic feel you get from absolution. (a good apocalyptic feel, mind you.) (-:

>>By Mrs.Bellamy   (Wednesday, 30 Mar 2005 05:43)

Cannot wait!

>>By muse junkie   (Wednesday, 30 Mar 2005 06:32)

Origin of Symmetry is their best album, by some distance.

>>By Obfuscated   (Friday, 1 Apr 2005 16:51)

I disagree with that. I cant pick the best album but if I had to id say Absolution would be the front -runner.

>>By muse junkie   (Monday, 11 Apr 2005 03:52)

I would agree...k, so yesterday i went to the muse concert at plush...all i can say is absolutely brilliant!!! It was my second time seeing them, but it felt like it was my first! They put on a superb performance as always. I had the greatest view! i was maybe around 2-3 feet away from Matthew...IT WAS PERFECT! They performed like 3 or 4 new songs, which were very impressive, and classics like New Born, Sunburn, Bliss, and Plug In Baby, as well as Apocalypse Please, TIRO, TSP, stockholm Syndrome, Hysteria, Ruled By Secrecy and Butterflies and Hurricanes. I wish i could've gotten a hold of the set-list to get hold of the names of the new songs, but it was given to someone else. I didn't leave empty handed though...I got one of Matthew's guitar picks!!! It was...Brilliant!

Dammit Mrs Bellamy im gonna explode with jealousy over here.
So the new songs, is there a Spanish vibe or what?

>>By muse junkie   (Monday, 11 Apr 2005 08:34)

You have no idea how jealous I am of you Mrs. Bellamy! I saw them once couple of years back when the played Slane and they were one of those small bands that start off the concert, they opened for Bryan Adams....need I say more?

>>By future ruler of the world   (Tuesday, 12 Apr 2005 18:21)

hehe, no u don't...but yeah, im pretty sure that one song had a spanish vibe...it was a great touch! It was funny, after they were finished with the performance chris body slammed matt on the drums, both matt and dom fell over and started cracking up. And they were a lot more talkative than they usually are, which was great!

>>By Mrs.Bellamy   (Tuesday, 12 Apr 2005 21:31)

[cries] wish i was there.

>>By muse junkie   (Wednesday, 13 Apr 2005 07:01)

I'd love to see Muse live, but i've only really started listening to them about a year ago, and the only time they played in Ireland (where i'm from) since then was in the middle of some of my exams :( If they ever come back (which i'm sure they will) i'll be first in line

>>By masterofinsanity   (Friday, 22 Apr 2005 14:48)

And your exams took priority over seeing a brilliant band perform live? What kind of a world do we live in?

>>By Flagg   (Friday, 22 Apr 2005 15:45)

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are my favourite band and I missed one of their concerts last year coz it was on the day of my last *x*m...

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Friday, 22 Apr 2005 20:04)

The first time I would have seen Muse live in concert was during the Cure Curiosa tour.........but that didn't happen. Chris had injured his wrist and they had to cancel there performance and as talented as The Cure is....I went for the sole purpose of seeing Muse ::tear tear:: BUT!!!! No worries, their on the mtvU Campus Invasion Tour!!! WOO-WOO!! And they're touring in the states, so hopefully I'll be up close and personal.

Good Luck Mrs.Howard!

>>By Mrs.Bellamy   (Friday, 6 May 2005 01:51)

I met a few guys the other day who saw Muse during their tour for Origin of Symmetry, and they said they are an unbelievable band live. :( Now i REALLY want to see them!
Some day...
