Yea...Sk8a H8a, you bad mouth them so much, I bet you're really a closet fan.

>>By Squeegy   (Tuesday, 31 Aug 2004 23:59)

Aye. If you need someone else to back this kid up then... whatever man GC and Slipknot suck TOGETHER. oh oh what up, what up.

>>By nOel_x3   (Wednesday, 1 Sep 2004 02:39)

A closet fan... yes, I secretly own all of their CDs... they're around here somewhere; I know it. And I go to their concerts in disguise and sing along very quietly. That's me alright.
"GC and Slipknot suck TOGETHER" - total agreement.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Wednesday, 1 Sep 2004 11:19)

Yup, I knew it. Closet fans always diss the bands they're embarrassed to like the most.

>>By Squeegy   (Wednesday, 1 Sep 2004 14:29)

Really?

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Wednesday, 1 Sep 2004 19:03)

If I liked them, why would I be embarassed to admit it??

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Wednesday, 1 Sep 2004 19:34)

who knows? because you don't wanna love the same bands as I do... hehe =P

>>By Mekko   (Wednesday, 1 Sep 2004 22:37)

Because GC is a band that people love to hate. Plenty of reasons. To name a few...

They're on MTV (unfortunetly) and the "cool" thing to do is hate bands/people on MTV. Because people call them "posers", even tho they never claimed to be "punk", whatever that is these days, if it's not dead already. Because people who openly say they like them they attacked by people who dont, and this board is a good example. So, instead of just admiting that you like them, people say they suck instead.

>>By Squeegy   (Thursday, 2 Sep 2004 00:15)

I like Metallica.
Linkin Park is a band people love to hate and I'm not ashamed to admit I adore them. I really don't like Good Charlotte, honestly. I gave a particularly good reason I don't in my review of "Hold On". It's not that the music isn't my type of thing - it is really. It just sucks a lot.
I also don't like what I've heard about Good Charlotte as people. They sound really nasty and they seem to be using the whole anti-Bush thing (coz they're on one of those Rock Against Bush CDs) to make themselves popular in the anarchistic sect... seriously, they're just posers. I don't like them for who they are or the music they play. I insult lots of bands, but that doesn't mean I like them. I just have an affinity for Good Charlotte because they are my little pet to kick.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Thursday, 2 Sep 2004 08:56)

Good Charlotte are a ridiculously poor band.

>>By Obfuscated   (Thursday, 2 Sep 2004 13:31)

Indeed

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Thursday, 2 Sep 2004 19:14)

I love that they're on the Rock Against Bush CD. But then again, I hate Bush. Just because they dont like Bush doesnt mean that they're trying to get people to think they're total anarchists. Maybe they just dont like him and are voicing they're opinion.

I've heard that they're actually nice guys.

>>By Squeegy   (Thursday, 2 Sep 2004 21:28)

Who did you hear that from - Hilary Duff?

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Thursday, 2 Sep 2004 23:29)

....Whoa.

You like Hilary? Ew, talk about sucky music.

>>By Squeegy   (Friday, 3 Sep 2004 01:48)

What makes you think I like Hilary?? You like GC? Eww, talk about even suckier music.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Friday, 3 Sep 2004 18:16)

Wow. I did the whole "ew you like Hilary" and "closet fan" thing just to piss you off.

And you stepped right in it.

Yes, I do like GC. We've already figured that out...where were you?

So you like tennybopping -I -dont- write- my -own music -or- even- play -a -instrument- on- stage teen pure pop Hilary better than GC. Interesting...

After that, I take pity on anyone who takes your critisims on music seriously.

>>By Squeegy   (Friday, 3 Sep 2004 21:20)

wow they actually had 1 good song...but now they're forgotten...

>>By nYSs   (Saturday, 4 Sep 2004 20:57)

Hilary may be nothing but pure suckiness, just like GC, but she's not as annoying and doesn't pretend to be something she's not. And she doesn't torture instruments like GC do... heh, you're probably a closet fan of her yourself :P
It's interesting to know you take pity on all of those people I disagree with on the other boards... whatever. Good Charlotte suck.

>>By Flake 1.6   (Sunday, 5 Sep 2004 17:20)

If Hilary wrote her own music or played an instrument on stage, I'd have respect for her as a musician. Although I have to admit, I'd rather see more Hilarys than Britneys.

They torture their instruments? You said yourself they dont play THAT badly live. How are they torturing them if they dont incredibly suck at them.

>>By Squeegy   (Monday, 6 Sep 2004 03:17)

What is it with bands making controversial political/social statements in their songs?
It seems that turning on the radio puts you at risk of (yet another) Anti-Bush mantra…
It especially kills the situation when bands like GC write songs that are contradictive and really quite pointless…
I often wonder whether they toss in a few words just for the sake of the song having a rhyme?
Sure, GC have had it tough (we’ve all heard the stories) but :
“Lifestyles of the rich and famous…they’re always complaining…”
Need I say more?

>>By Jersiey   (Monday, 6 Sep 2004 13:52)

People misinterpret that (highly overplayed) song. It's about celebrities not appreciating the life they have.

I don't think they complain. They write about their life ( and yes, I agree that they over due it) and I think it's just their way of venting.

>>By Squeegy   (Monday, 6 Sep 2004 15:42)

Who's misinterpreting it? It's obviously about celebrities not appreciating life... but GC are also celebrities and spent their whole time whining too. In fact, that song is one big complaint! If that's their way of venting, can't they please confine it to the studio and not release such rubbish?
They torture their instruments by playing horrible music on it. And by "not that bad" I mean "not as bad as you'd expect for such horrible song-writers". Imagine Incubus's talent minus 15 grades, throw in some stupid poserish clothes and a pointless extra musician and you have GC. That's not good.

>>By Flake 1.6   (Monday, 6 Sep 2004 16:14)

Instruments are inanimate objects. They have no feeling, thus, cannot be tortured. :p

They're clothes! Who gives a crap what kind of clothes musicians wear? Oh, wait, you, apparently. They dress the way they want, and make the kind of music they want, and are doing what they want with their lives. Just because you dress a certian way, you automaticly have to make the kind of music that is usually associated with those clothes? I'd like to see a real punk band wearing preppy clothes, just for laughs.

How many of their songs have you heard? Just the ones they released as singles? Because they have songs better than those.

Keep listening to their "rubbish". Maybe your ears will fall off.

>>By Squeegy   (Monday, 6 Sep 2004 18:49)

Okay so they say in that one song, Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous "....think we should rob them" Hm, are they implying that we should attempt to rob them?

>>By nOel_x3   (Sunday, 12 Sep 2004 03:02)

I dunno... but "lifestyles..." has never been a favourite of mine...

>>By Mekko   (Monday, 13 Sep 2004 09:28)

Agreed Mekko. Lifestyles wasn't a favorite of mine either. I kind of always felt that the songs they released as singles werent their best songs.

Oh please, nOel_x3. If a song told you to go jump off a bridge, would you? I'm guessing no. But hey, if you would like to rob them, go ahead.

>>By Squeegy   (Monday, 13 Sep 2004 12:44)

I like girls&boys... I dunno why, but I think that one is funny...

saw a bit of their new video, don't remember it's name but I liked it... hehe

>>By Mekko   (Saturday, 18 Sep 2004 21:06)

Predictable or whatever it's called - is that the new one? I've heard it (lucky me) and I think it's one of their worst songs yet. And to think there's been this hype about them getting better! From what I've heard, their new album is just as bad as the firs. Or are they going to only release the "bad" songs and keep the "good" ones on B-sides so only the "real fans" get to hear them?

Squeegy: you make an invalid point. nOel_x3 never expressed a desire to rob GC. She was just questioning whether the song is telling us to do so. Obviously it is, since we're supposed to rob the rich and famous. GC are extremely rich and famous.

>>By Flake 1.6   (Thursday, 23 Sep 2004 08:55)

I agree they are horrible. BUT! Who cares? There's alot of other bands out there to listen too that I do enjoy. Ones that helped "influence" GC. Whatever. Its all good. Doesn't affect my life where it counts.

I find that "sad gansta-clown" make-up more annoying than there songs, anyhow...

>>By CherryBombshell   (Thursday, 23 Sep 2004 17:14)

I've always liked guys that wears some kind of make-up... heh... nailpolish... but that's maybe not make-up *thinking* haha... some guys looks good in make-up... I think billy is one of 'em.. but benj & joel... naaa
