Today's Session 7/10/03 Session # 623: My analysis for # 623 - Flaws in character.

Advise given to Chad Elmore is :
-Your inability to achieve solitude makes you settle for substandard relationships......
-You disguise your laziness as pride.....
-You pretend to be more eccentric than you actually are because you worry you are an interchangeable cog....
-You are paralyzed by the fact that cruelty is often amusing....
-You still don't know what you do well....
-Your own ability to rationalize your bad deeds makes you believe the entire universe is as amoral as yourself....
-You worry that if you lower your guard, even for one second, your whole world will disintegrate into chaos.....
-You are unable to differentiate between facade and substance....
-You are dazed by the ease with which obliteration can be obtained.....

CAE's Response to this was : "Only democracy saves us from the ravage of being animals."
--My thoughts on this subject : (undisclosed). ___End of Session___

Signed, Aesop Rock. ( I could have done more research on my subject, but he is one of my welfare paitents, ( AKA charity ), the costs were superlatively eminent.

A wise man once said "arguing in chat forums is like the special olympics.Even if you win you're still retarded" well maybe it wasnt a wise man...Maybe its even common knowledge or maybe its not...Who cares? Well maybe i care but is it relevant... i highly doubt it maybe everyone is 2 concerned with there trivial arguments...Maybe i need a thesoris and a dictionary so i can seem half as Intelligent as yall....Maybe some one will suddenly verbally attack me for the crude statement i said about the special olmpics and retards....haha maybe all this rambling is meaningless...Well Peace all

ps: CAE hook me up with a pair of them pervert glasses.

>>By Abstract Logicz   (Friday, 11 Jul 2003 10:37)

Shit, I don't know about you, but I'm only on here to find a wife...hahaha
You guys should drop that isht...it is wack. While that retard comment may not have been PC it is very true....Lindsey, we all know you are better than that...be the bigger person and just ignore it. He's pulling punches, so why is it worth it? Because the sooner this message board can go back to its protocol (aesop rock discussion) the better for everyone. I'm sure there are a lot of disillusioned AceRok fans who don't want to hear about your guys' beef. They want to hear about the man, the myth, the legend....
Isn't 9-5er's anthem a dope ass track?

>>By Eh Sopp   (Friday, 11 Jul 2003 20:24)

those panties belonged to aesop rock himself i'm never washing them. or taking them off. after reading the report from my therapist i find myself rejuvinated with a newfound understanding of why were all here (on this planet not this forum). we are not here to argue about whose uglier or more arrogant or who has the bigger vocabulary (unless we happen to be a battle emcee, in which case those would be our primary objectives) we're hear to love one another brother and sisters. LOVE. sometimes all wer need is love.... dun dun duhduhduh....
i have a confession to make... all that shit i just said... i'm not sure if i believe all that.

shere kahn is still the rockinest ace rizzle song.

Yeah, Im sorry, but when someone is talking shit, its in my nature to talk shit back and defend myself. I try, I realllllly do. I'll stop now.

I would have to say that I like almost all of Aesop's songs, except Big Bang. I know I know, Im gunna get reeemed, but the whole song, in my opinion, is flat out annoying.
I found out who the girl is that sings in Coward of the Year, and Sher Khan. She is a girl from the group 'The Controls'. The group consists of her and , ah-almighty Dub-L, its acually Dub-L's girly. The Controls acually own the song Sher Khan, Aesop Rock is just a feature. Ahhhh? Interesting. And FYI - The guy who plays the loco' in Aesop's video for Abandon All Hope, is also Dub-L. They must be bes'buds. Okay, well I hope you all soak up this info. DON'T BE SELFISH WITH YOUR HIP HOP, SHARE IT WITH THE WORLD.

>>By Lindsey   (Friday, 11 Jul 2003 20:57)

I won't ream you, but Big Bang is one of my favorites...not the hook necessarily, but some of his lines on that track are ill...
I like Mayor and the Crook, Active Element, Hold the Cup, Dryspell, 1000 Deaths....shit I like a lot of it...

>>By Eh Sopp   (Friday, 11 Jul 2003 21:13)

Well, Im glad everyone had a busy weekend, ( the lack of posts tells me so.). I see no one had any input on my post about Shere Khan. Nice.
I had fun today with some Percocets, me and my boyfriend just sat on the couch all day with our eyes rolled in the back of our heads. Good times.
I am excited about Aesop's new album. How is everyone's anticipation? Cool.

>>By Lindsey   (Monday, 14 Jul 2003 07:54)

Well, I don't want to get too excited because then if it sucks it will be double-bad. I'm anxious to see what Blockhead's production is like these days. I'm sure El-P did a couple tracks too which is always hit or miss...

>>By Eh Sopp   (Monday, 14 Jul 2003 18:48)

El-P bugs me most of the time. I don't think Aesop has been happy with his production. I think people like Aesop, and his beats and the overall quality of his music, but we also don't see what VH1 would like to call "Behind The Music". Thats where emotions really come into play. If Aesop ever had a fall out with Def Jux, I really wish he would seek revenge by 'spilling the beans' but about the corporate dick fucks that put him through hell. Aesop could do this shit on his own, he doesn't need the bullshit El-P is going to be producing here in the coming years, proven when he signed SA Trash.

>>By Lindsey   (Monday, 14 Jul 2003 20:12)

whoa....hold on a minute....
I wouldn't ever say that Def Jux is corporate...and I would also say that Aesop probably really loves working with those guys...what it DOESN'T mean is that what comes out will be good. Even though a lot of what Def Jux produces might not be perfect, it is at least approaching it from angles that are new. That doesn't mean it will work...I personally think they should go back to the drawing board on a lot of shit. But WTFE, right? I respect your opinion....you should really see that DefJux documentary...

>>By Eh Sopp   (Tuesday, 15 Jul 2003 02:05)

Yeah, maybe. Just becauase they work in the "underground", doesn't nessesarily mean that they are any more honest than the rest of their society. I know that everything is all good over there in NY, but Im talking in the future. Hmmmm. Shit might hit the fan, once El-P see's $$$$$ dollar signs. Maybe he had a $$ vision when he heard SA Trash. I had a nightmare.... personally.

>>By Lindsey   (Tuesday, 15 Jul 2003 10:14)

Yeah....I think they were lucky coming out with the gems they did all at once. Cold Vein, and Lif's Jux albums are so ill that they were bound to let us down at some point. Fantastic Damage has its moments...
It would seem very contradictory to me if El-P bent over for the almighty dollar, just given his stance and opinions on capitalism and isht like that. But then again, perhaps he is trying to stockpile his bio-survival tickets in time for the impending doom.
and on SA Smash....all I've heard is Smashy Trashy...didn't dig it, so I'll take your word for it and not listen to any more of it.

>>By Eh Sopp   (Tuesday, 15 Jul 2003 17:33)

yall are crazy. elp is the shit!!! if ace wasent happy with his production dont u think hed leave? and ace does produce his own tracks sometimes! he did the majority on bazooka tooth!!

>>By flip dog   (Tuesday, 15 Jul 2003 23:03)

smashy trashy has 2 or 3 decent tracks. the production, most of which was not done by el-p, is great for the most part but the lyrical content and flow style of metro and camu tao is garbage. these guys are far from original and really have no message at all. oh other than drink and fuck alot. and they do a piss poor job of getting that message across.

i'm really starting to think me and this eh-sopp guy share some of the same opinions.

lindsey... (not to start another verbal war with you, lets see if we can disagree AND keep it civil) i think you are using far too much speculation in your prediction of the future of el-p and def jux and you're not giving el-p enough credit. have you heard the song "the dance" on murs' "...end of the begining"?

el-p made a apperance on "good music" as well.

also on "both sides of the brain".

and "love and hate"

so the guy is and has always been busy and down with some dope mutha fu....

he may be our great white hope. lord knows it ain't sole. we shall see.

>>By CAE!   (Wednesday, 16 Jul 2003 01:54)

and lord knows it ain't Dose One
my boy Matt loves that guy but I can't even listen for like 30 seconds....
The stuff I like by Camu is old MHZ shit....but yeah, CAE is right, all they are are battle emcees and that shit is dying a slow and painful death. Yeah the EL track on Love and Hate is cool....
and coflow stuff is dope for the most part, but some of his production is so gritty and unapproachable for me. But after spending time in NYC I understand why. His music certainly is a direct product of his life and that is cool. Doesn't mean I have to like it, but that's the beauty of music, right?
I feel that hip hop music is message-based and that is why I have such a hard time with guys like Sa Smash and Camu, and even PUTS sometimes.....I mean, their beats are good, but that is only half of the battle...in my opinion.
I am an emcee....every verse I create has to be opening some sort of door not only for me, but for whoever takes the time to listen. I am not "right" though.

>>By Eh Sopp   (Wednesday, 16 Jul 2003 02:57)

i see what you mean about el-p. i remeber when i first heard him with murs on "good music vol. 2" i thought "e-l dash producto??" who the fuck is this guy... than i heard him on "both sides..."(del) and felt he ruined that song.... it has that gritty feel i think your talking about.
however i think alot of his shit just needs some time to grow on you. "stepfather factory" is some deep shit and i'd have to agree on the fuck disney tip. his beats are well orchastrated chaos in most cases and i think that takes skill. other times words just can't explain how right on i feel his beats are in relation to what i feel hip hop is about. songs like "tuned mass damper" and "the dance" and hello! he made all the fuckin beats on "cold vein"!!!!!!!
anyhow i'm done jockin i just felt he needed a little d.

>>By CAE!   (Wednesday, 16 Jul 2003 07:56)

while i'm runnin "d" i might as well stick up for dose.

have you heard them's (a.k.a. themselves) self titled album. i think thats really all i should have to say. oh wait... "hemisperes".... did i mention "deep puddle dynamics"?

check those out.... than talk some shit...but lemme warn you it might be hard after that.

the song "mouthful" on "the no music" ain't to shabby either.

if you still dislike dose after hearing that shit than i guess thiers really nothing that will change your mind about him. unless you can find his shit he did with dibbs...

>>By CAE!   (Wednesday, 16 Jul 2003 08:03)

'sides dose wouldn't want that role... it would clash with his whole objective. doseone with boundaries....? make music that sells records? not to the masses.
def jux el-p's label has hosted:
slug
lif
vast aire
aesop rock
murs
blueprint ( or was "soul position" on RSE??)
abilities
ect...ect....
and i think that he will bring alot more talent into def jux... think about how many cats he's down with in the "indie hop" catergory. i wouldn't be surprised if alot more RSE and Living Legends climb over to def jux... maybe even dose one. plus how many people are down with RJD2... its called networking and guess who has the best production and distrubution. sure as hell ain't LL or anticon. i would also imagine he grants them a good amount of artistic freedom. you're an emcee... so tell me would you sign to def jux...?
that my friends is why i say great white hope. one label with all that talent and he makes a good fraction of the beats. and does it well. sa smash was probably an experiment, that failed. have faith.

>>By CAE!   (Wednesday, 16 Jul 2003 08:21)

you don't have to make music for the massholes...but if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it then what that tree did can never make an impact....yanahmean?
And I've checked Deep Puddle Dynamics and I really just don't like that style that much. but WTFE, right?
and artistic freedom is fine if you're an artist...if you are just some hot headed kid who puts some words that rhyme together in a sentence and calls it art, then I have a problem....
Sure I would sign to Def Jux, but I don't see what that has to do with anything.
Cold Vein is surely one of those "gems" I was referring to. El-P's production on that is mind blowing....
I'm not dissing those guys at all....Even the El-P tracks I don't like are cool in their own way.
So you jumping down my throat on the issue is pointless....it's just music....doesn't make you wack to not listen or not like it....

>>By Eh Sopp   (Wednesday, 16 Jul 2003 10:14)

AESOP ROCK AND ALL OF THE DEF JUX CREW IS THE SHIT!!!
I CANT FUKIN WAIT FOR THE NEW AESOP ALBUM,I WAS SUPPOSED TO SEE THEM IN COLUMBUS AT THE MORE THAN MUSIC FESTIVAL BUT IT GOT CANCELLED,ANYONE KNOW WHERE AES MIGHT BE PLAYING SOON?

>>By DayTrnzNyt   (Wednesday, 16 Jul 2003 17:27)

I can't wait for Bazooka Tooth, as well.... But not everyone of the Jukies are that dope...they have some star players and some guys that are on the bench for a reason.
Anyone ever heard that DJ Vadim/EL=P track, Viagra? That shit is cool.

>>By Eh Sopp   (Wednesday, 16 Jul 2003 18:48)

Why couldn't you all just answer the dam question. All UG wanted to know if its true. Look how you all wonder off topic. Maybe no one knows
anything about him.

>>By GFunkMoFo   (Wednesday, 16 Jul 2003 23:46)

Gfunk must be a wanderer too, Gfunk..-> Then why the "funk" didn't you answer UG's question? Stop talking shit. To CAE: I do not have time for a verbal war, so all Im going to say is, respect people's opinions. ( And Living Legends will never be part of Def Jux. They are secret haters because of that whole Aesop and Aesop issue. You know the one.) I never said I don't like El-p's style, flows, beats, over all production, whatever the fuck you wanna call it...I just mentioned that perhaps, El-p might be a little to overbearing, or controlling, something stupid like that. The show here in Seattle was all wrong, Can Ox was giving Aesop dirty looks,( Aesop kept interupting Can Ox's free-style, but hey....) Aesop was getting pissed at the DJ for fucking up all the time. And I just got the vibe he wasn't as happy as he could be. My bad.

>>By Lindsey   (Thursday, 17 Jul 2003 01:22)

the dopest aesop song is alchemy w/ blueprint. i love that song!!!!

>>By flip dog   (Thursday, 17 Jul 2003 20:00)

alchemy and viagra are cool.... viagra has alot of really cool spoken samples. "what" "next"

eh-sopp,
to say i was jumping down your throat is just plain stupid. no one here can handle a little debate or a diffrence in opinion. its fuckin lame.

what does the fact that you would sign to def jux have to do with anything.... only everything. that shows that el-p can't be that bad if you are willing to make him your boss.

also to say you don't like that style (deep puddle) shows that we have less in common than i assumed.

lindsey- i have really no reason to respect your opinion. you havn't given me a reason to. respect is earned not just handed out. any asshole can get on this forum and i'm supposed to just respect what they have to say? fuck that.

>>By CAE!   (Thursday, 17 Jul 2003 20:35)

Here we go again. Hmmm, could it be CAE's bad attitude and unablility to restrain from making rude comments, or could it be me, the stupid bitch in the back row that thinks she knows what she's talking about, but just listens to hip hop and smokes cigarettes because she thinks it makes her look cool.
The only way to earn respect, CAE...Is to act RESPECTFUL. You just don't get handed respect. BLAH.

DG: Aesop rock drives a ford escort on 24's.

>>By Lindsey   (Friday, 18 Jul 2003 03:33)

Roofie, right? Thats what you meant, correct? Nice choice, seeing as how you are giving an explaination of your sex life. But thanks for stopping by anyway, Im sure Aesop Rock is having seizures and foaming out the mouth because of your harsh, HARSH, comment...there is however a few courses you could take, all my Aesop fans, you guys know about the "12 steps to shut the fuck up" seminar. Rated overall best for losers like yourself.
Anyway, some big news for hip hop fans across the nation: If you like hip hop, you like The Last Emporer < S~I~C~K emcee, well as you may know, he's had the same album for SOME TIME... years acually. He just came out with a new one, I belive the website is www.thelastemp.com. If you have never heard him flow, or any of his songs.....Im very sorry. But him and Ace' ----- 2 different styles, completely.

>>By Lindsey   (Saturday, 19 Jul 2003 18:03)

I'm back from the bay. Short trip but I managed to hit up Portland, Eugine, Sacramento, Berkeley, Oakland San Fransisco and Olympia. Although I only did some of the west coast I feel like I was on top of the world. I took the train down partway, then the Greyhound then roadtripped (hard) on the way back, saw a bunch of friends, got out of control, barely slept, yada yada yayo. In Oakland my friend and i were playing the newest Tony Hawk and the first track from Labor Days was on it. I was wandering why that track, of the 50 or so of his that exist was chosen by the gamers, or possibly donated by Aes. Secretely its pretty low on my list of favorites. Any input? Also, speaking of doseOne, I love the newer album Circle he did with Boom Bip. The Birdcatchers Return is my favorite track. Listen to it in the dark. I also really like the self titled Them album. I am less fond of Deep Puddle Dynamics, although I love the track Rainmen. I just broke my computer table running to the phone, pulled the sliding keyboard holder off its hinges, pulled out cords and now the backspace button doesnt work and i cant look while I'm typing, because i have to sit sideways to use the keyboard. therfore i have nothing left to say because I have to fix it.

>>By grandmascolorfulrocks   (Monday, 21 Jul 2003 07:23)

Oh and now that I think of it there are probably more like 70 or 80 Aesop Rock tracks, and I can use the delete key but it works backwards.
