exile the list of bands that have gotten famous off of songs that anyone could write is to long to list. also a band that has released four albums and toured for years is not a flash in the pan. unless you want to define flash in the pan by mtv or mainstream cultures definition.If success, adulation and the creation of original art is so "easy" were can we buy your lastest album or art. You dont have to like the stripes just dont rip them on shit criteria.

come on guys..ur really pissin' me off...its dead leaves AND the dirty ground not on the dirty ground....omg...lol i konw i proly over reacting but ya know wen u keep hearin sompin over and over and its really annoying like this one chick sings that evenescense song...im going under...well this one chick i know sings im going nowhere... finally i just turned to her and screamed ... if u cant singit right dont sing it...lol frikin annoying i tell ya' so plz ... its dead leaves AND the dirty ground...and the other song the hardest button to button the first part where it goes...
we started livin in a old house my ma' gave birth and we were checkin it out it was a baby boy so we bought him a toy....IT WAS A RAY GUN...not bacon or race car or nething else...thats frikin annoying too lol ... sry...

I saw The White Stripes on the 3 days ago in Blackpool, England for the second time (saw them last year in Manchester, England). They were great although it pissed me off that almost everyone was jumping whenever they played anything off 'Elephant' (or the obvious ones from White Blood Cells), but as soon they played anything from 'White Stripes' & 'De Stijl', the crowd kind of bluffed their way through it. Why should you have to feel idiotic because you went mental when they played 'Screwdriver' & 'You're Pretty Good Looking' etc...? Just because these pretentious arsewipes needed a new trendy fad to get into. So, they threw out their (insert forgotten band here........) and bought the latest big album & then decided to buy tickets to see them, at mummy & daddy's expense of course, claiming to have been into them for years. Anybody else have this trouble? It was great to see them play 'Boll Weevil' too, no Jolene though :-( .

I didn't go to the Blackpool concert. I was going to see them in Liverpool, but it didn't work out.
Though I haven't been into the White Stripes for years, I like De Stijl and White Stripes, in spite of people I know trying to make me feel like an idiot because the earlier albums are 'naff', etc.

Its a shame that people dismiss the first two albums as naff. They obviously don't understand what The White Stripes music is all about. I'm not one of those crusaders who think its the end of the world when their favourite small band gets big, in fact I embrace it. They deserve to be big, but its annoying when people buy one album & just listen to the single releases. Why don't they just wait a few years for a Greatest Hits album?

Is it cold mountain that jack white's in...i was gonna go c it but then i realized its rated R and they wont let me in cuz im only 16, not 17.... so my older brother is gonna take me to go c it hopefully in the next week. Its about the American Civil war I think? The main character (Jude Law) becomes a deserter & decides to go back home, to see a girl he fell in love with. So I guess it kinda makes it a chick flick but one the same token I guess its kind of an adventure film too. I haven't seen it but I think thats the main premise of the film.

Just because someone is "so hot" or "sooo sexy" doesn't make them a good musician. The white stripes are just something new and refreshing from a lot of the music we hear now-adays. I like their music style and they just kick ass. Their earlier cd's are good too. people just don't give them a chance because it's not mainstream and that bugs me...

i fell in love with the white stripes 2 months before i saw their picture my brother burnt me the cd and i never saw the cover or their faces or any music videos until 2 or 3 months after i heard them...i love the white stripes becuz of thier musical talent...but i also think i have the right to think jack white is hott and its not how cute or sexy he is on the outside but how much god given talent he has and how he stands up for himself and doenst get sucked in to the modern-day style...red white and black are their main colors and thats the reason cuz they dont wanna ever change...i likethat i respect them...and that is why i love jack white. no problem with that lil shorty, it just bugs me about other people. yes people with the love of the sexiness of the people and the music (and i stress music) as you seem to have are exceptions to my argument. of course people can think an artist is good and is sexy, i think that about many of the people i listen to, but i won't listen to someone just because they are sexy, and people who do are the ones i have a problem with.

Something I've been meaning to mention for a while! When I went to see The White Stripes on January 28th, they were supported by a band called Blanche. Anyone heard of them? If you have you'll know how cool they are, if not, check them out if you can. They've got an album due out called 'If We Can't Trust The Doctors' & coz I'm a goddamned limey f**k, I can't get hold of a copy til March!!! (Thank you Cass Music) If anyone knows how I can get it any faster please, please, please let me know. Oh yeah, check the Blanche website 'www.blanchemusic.com', its going through technical difficulties at the moment but keep checking, it'll be totally worth your while! Remember...Blanche, Blanche, Blanche!!!!

Ok lil shorty, I'll make you a deal ( & anyone else who's interested). I'll do my darndest to find when they're playing over your side of the pond next, & I'm usually quite good at finding things like that out, if you check out Blanche's website, or better still buy their album. Its only $10 dollars from Cass Music (theres a link on the Blanche website). I honestly can't say enough good things about them. Whats 10 dollars? :-)

ok blanche.com deal ;) Hey did u c the White stripes on the grammys jacks insanly awesome guitar solo omg ... he looked soo hot i loved his pants...meg didnt look as pale and wierd as she usually does...she looked pretty...i loved her dress... =) omg...jack tho..wow they did three songs and played them faster than they usually go..it was awesome... so how many awards did they win? i know they won for the best rock alternative album...(elephant) :)

Damned right you're missing out manson_is_sexy! You're exactly what I was writing about when I wrote something about The Libertines earlier on. The categories part. I can't be bothered typing it again so you'll just have to have a look at what I wrote but its true. I don't mean it in a nasty way, just a way of saying be open-minded & listen to what speaks to you. Oh & lil shorty I haven't been able to catch the grammys over here :-(. Oh & I'm still looking around for when they're playing over there, although theres talk of them not planning anything until summer in case that Von Bondies thing doesn't work out well. I don't know whats going on with that either. Does anyone know when the court date is? Let me know if you do. I haven't followed it as closely as others. P.S. manson is sexy, have a look at The Libertines discussion, I think you'll understand my point. :-)

Cheers lil shorty! Hopefully it will go well for him. Then you'll get the chance to see them in all their glory. (When I say them, in your case you'll get to see Jack in all his glory :-) ) I do know that they're playing over here again in the summer at the Leeds/Reading festival, they've been booked to play it for ages because they had to cancel last year coz of the finger incident. aww, thats sweet. I caught their performance at the grammys, & they did kick ass although Jack's voice did seem like its taken a hammering from all their touring, radio & tv performances. Its understandable. Oh & Meg did look pretty too! She looks great in person! Ha ha! :-) x
