No... I am strapped for cash right now... I don't have a job either... I have $60... And I am saving that for the trip to Japan (if I qualify) or a $230 Bass Amp...

>>By Grazyl   (Tuesday, 12 Oct 2004 03:37)

Wooo hooo, page 3. I understand, I had no money when I was your age either. Don't worry, times will change - soon you'll have money to blow on CDs every week - like I do.

Japan - sounds cool - I'm guessing you'll need more than $60 though.

>>By spikee   (Tuesday, 12 Oct 2004 03:52)

Yep... 6K is what I'll need...

>>By Grazyl   (Wednesday, 13 Oct 2004 12:35)

i think they're one of the best bands EVER!!!!:)))))

>>By Eli_Molko   (Thursday, 14 Oct 2004 02:25)

I agree with Eli. She knows her stuff about music, she can't be wrong!

>>By spikee   (Thursday, 14 Oct 2004 02:27)

Yeah... I know... I'm really happy that they haven't gone completely commercial/mainstream...

>>By Grazyl   (Thursday, 14 Oct 2004 02:52)

The only Lips song I've heard on the radio was Buggin', and that was only on alternative radio. I've never heard them on commercial radio - seen the video clip for Do You Realize once.

>>By spikee   (Thursday, 14 Oct 2004 03:10)

Oh... I've never heard any of their songs on the radio... I've watched a few vids at flaminglips.com though...

>>By Grazyl   (Friday, 15 Oct 2004 01:52)

Its about time the Lips toured.

I have the Fight Test video on the single.

>>By spikee   (Friday, 15 Oct 2004 04:15)

Yeah... I was going to go to the Lollapalooza, but it got cancelled...

But right now they are touring with some really cool bands...

Do you get their newsletter...??

I do...

>>By Grazyl   (Friday, 15 Oct 2004 12:24)

No I don't get the newsletter. I assume they are just doing local tours at the moment right? I live in an isolated part of the world called Australia, so I need a huge world tour for them to visit me.

Aparently they were here January 2004, but I didn't know who the Flaming Lips were back then.....

>>By spikee   (Friday, 15 Oct 2004 18:04)

Whoa... Jan. 2004... I actually thought that you knew them longer than I... No offense... I've known them since mid 2003...

>>By Grazyl   (Sunday, 17 Oct 2004 04:20)

When I find a band I like, I don't hesitate to get my wallet out and spend till its empty.

>>By spikee   (Monday, 18 Oct 2004 12:15)

Oh... I wish I had that kind of money to spend... Otherwise I would...

>>By Grazyl   (Tuesday, 19 Oct 2004 01:35)

Which FL clips have you watched?

On the Fight Test single/ep it has the clip for that song. Good video.

>>By spikee   (Tuesday, 19 Oct 2004 01:45)

I've seen "Fight Test", "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots", and ummm... I don't remember...

>>By Grazyl   (Wednesday, 20 Oct 2004 13:22)

Part 1 or part 2 of Yoshimi?

>>By spikee   (Thursday, 21 Oct 2004 00:56)

I read that you like the Stone Temple Pilots. Do you like the Tea Party?

Obviously part 1 I suppose, they wouldn't make a video for part 2 - it's all fart noises!

>>By spikee   (Thursday, 21 Oct 2004 02:11)

lol... Yeah it was the 1st pt.... I love STP!!

I do not know Tea Party, I do not own any of their cds, or many of any other bands'... I'm sorry... We do have the one with the 12 Gracious Memories thing on the back cover...

>>By Grazyl   (Thursday, 21 Oct 2004 13:17)

I don't own any Tea Party albums either..... but I know a couple of their songs which are terrific - A Certain Slant Of Light in particular.

>>By spikee   (Thursday, 21 Oct 2004 14:25)

See... I don't know that one...

>>By Grazyl   (Friday, 22 Oct 2004 12:21)

Have you seen the STP clip with Sarah Michelle Gellar called........... er, whatever its called, I forget these things

>>By spikee   (Saturday, 23 Oct 2004 02:35)

No, I haven't... Is it cool...??

>>By Grazyl   (Monday, 25 Oct 2004 13:26)

I guess so, because she's in it.

>>By spikee   (Monday, 25 Oct 2004 15:12)

She's hot.

>>By spikee   (Monday, 25 Oct 2004 15:27)

She is pretty good looking... But I know of others that are way more...

>>By Grazyl   (Tuesday, 26 Oct 2004 13:19)

You know Nirvana? That riff in About A Girl - they stole it from an early Flaming Lips song called Bag Full Of Thoughts. My theory, at least.

>>By spikee   (Tuesday, 26 Oct 2004 14:35)

Hmmm... I love Nirvana (not a poser)... I do not remember the riff... But mkay... Once I hear both songs I will compare...

>>By Grazyl   (Wednesday, 27 Oct 2004 03:13)

It's the opening guitar line to About A Girl - a real classic - but I really think it was stolen. Try downloading the song, its not really worth buying the cd (its in the 3cd box set thing which I wouldn't recommend until you have everything else Flaming Lips).

>>By spikee   (Monday, 1 Nov 2004 10:49)

I have About a Girl... It's on Nirvana: Greatest Hits... I just haven't listened to it in a while... I do not plan on getting With the Lights Out for a long while... And yes... I plan on getting most of the Flaming Lips' stuff before it...
