Mercury Rev, from what I know of them, are a bit more 'dreamy' than the Flaming Lips

>>By spikee   (Wednesday, 22 Sep 2004 02:40)

Yeah... But oh well... They still seem pretty cool...

>>By Grazyl   (Thursday, 23 Sep 2004 02:21)

What other bands do you like?

>>By spikee   (Thursday, 23 Sep 2004 03:21)

Hmmm... Just check out my Profile... As I cannot name them all...

>>By Grazyl   (Friday, 24 Sep 2004 01:39)

Ah I see... quite a list. I like a lot of 60s bands - Beach Boys (ohhh yeah!), Kinks, Beatles. I also like some 90s rock bands like Pearl Jam, but I'm not into hard rock. And I have a passing interest in techno and hip-hop. Quite a variety, really.

>>By spikee   (Friday, 24 Sep 2004 03:08)

Actually, hip-hop is a passed interest. More or less.

>>By spikee   (Friday, 24 Sep 2004 04:02)

Oh... I was a hip-hop/rap fan until the night I heard Ozzy's "Crazy Traing" then in like a week or so I bought that album...

The car commercial. I just have one question....why?

>>By CÆT   (Saturday, 25 Sep 2004 07:54)

I haven't seen this car commercial, I've heard it has Do You Realize playing in it though.

Do You Realize was played for about ten seconds in 50 First Dates also. Quit killing this awesome song!!!!

>>By spikee   (Saturday, 25 Sep 2004 09:47)

Yeah... They are playing that song a bit too much... I do not want it to go to commercial/mainstream...

>>By Grazyl   (Tuesday, 28 Sep 2004 02:39)

Absolutely. Not like She Dont Use Jelly, which was apparently a big hit, altho I've never heard it outside of the CD.

Do you have Zaireeka yet?

>>By spikee   (Tuesday, 28 Sep 2004 02:54)

Hmmm... I do not have Zaireeka... Yet... But I plan to get it pretty soon... But I plan on getting The Day they Shot a Hole in the Jesus Egg & In a Priest Driven Ambulance... I started listening to them in Mid-2003... And have only gotten 2 of their cds so far...

>>By Grazyl   (Thursday, 30 Sep 2004 12:45)

The Day They Shot A Hole In The Jesus Egg

IS

In A Priest Driven Ambulance

plus some outtakes

So you don't need to buy both separately.

>>By spikee   (Thursday, 30 Sep 2004 16:42)

Well... I guess I could just get one of 'em...

>>By Grazyl   (Saturday, 2 Oct 2004 04:01)

Buy The Jesus Egg if you can afford it, its a double CD. Some of the bonus tracks are awesome, esp. Ma I Didn't Notice.

>>By spikee   (Saturday, 2 Oct 2004 12:43)

Sweet... Yeah... That's the one I'll probably end up buying...

>>By Grazyl   (Sunday, 3 Oct 2004 04:47)

Don't forget about albums like Transmissions... and Clouds Taste Metallic though.

Is anyone else gonna post on here? Don't be shy!

>>By spikee   (Sunday, 3 Oct 2004 10:59)

Yeah... Definitely Clouds Taste Metallic...

I was wondering the same thing... I don't think that anyone is... Sadly...

>>By Grazyl   (Monday, 4 Oct 2004 13:09)

Compared to how many people post for a shit band like Slipknot, its not fair. You don't like Shitnot, do you?

>>By spikee   (Tuesday, 5 Oct 2004 03:57)

Sorry... But I do... My music taste varies... But never into and Rap/Hip Hop, Death/Black Metal or Punk...

>>By Grazyl   (Wednesday, 6 Oct 2004 03:15)

Well, I did buy Slipknot's first album when it came out.... I was 18 I think.

Today's punk is TERRIBLE. The originals like The Clash & The Ramones I don't mind

>>By spikee   (Wednesday, 6 Oct 2004 03:27)

Hmmm... Yeah... The new stuff ("punk") really sucks...

What Bands do you think Influenced The Lips...??

>>By Grazyl   (Thursday, 7 Oct 2004 02:53)

Don't know really. Their early 90s stuff (which I love the best) sounds to me like Nirvana crossed with the Beatles. I guess the more 'electronic' approach they took on Yoshimi is similar to what Radiohead did on Kid A/Amnesiac. What do you think?

>>By spikee   (Thursday, 7 Oct 2004 07:58)

Nirvana/Beatles eh...?? Cool...

Yeah they did sound a bit Radiohead-ish... They are quite original...

>>By Grazyl   (Thursday, 7 Oct 2004 13:09)

They are original - who else would release an album that you have to listen to on 4 different CD players at once (Zaireeka)?

I'm still a bit mind-blown by that idea. I don't even have 4 CD players.

>>By spikee   (Friday, 8 Oct 2004 01:18)

Hmmm... I can listen to 4 CD players... I have 2 myself... 1 I can borrow from Sis and 1 from StepDad...

>>By Grazyl   (Friday, 8 Oct 2004 02:26)

I'm listening to Zaireeka now. But only three discs of it. One on my stereo, one on my sisters portable stereo, and one on my laptop. Each track starts off with a voice saying "This is track number ... CD number ... " so you know whether the CDs are synchronised. It's a crazy idea! Each bit of the song comes from a different stereo. I can't comment on whether its a good album or not, but I'm blown away by the idea! The Lips rule

>>By spikee   (Friday, 8 Oct 2004 07:05)

I don't think I'll listen to Zaireeka very often... it takes too much effort!

>>By spikee   (Saturday, 9 Oct 2004 02:58)

Oh... It is pretty crazy... But so awesomely-insanely-cool!!

I will have to buy it for sure...

>>By Grazyl   (Monday, 11 Oct 2004 12:49)

You still havent got anything other than Yoshimi & Soft Bulletin?
