The song is named after the plane crash... I think the band are called Rammstein because that's where they come from.

Ont he website http://www.heathenworld.com/bandname/index.html you can search the origin of bandnames, including Rammstein.
And Sk8a H8a, Rammstein don't come from Ramstein, but from Berlin.

yes,rammstein are berliners,that's why i love berlin sooo much.they live in prenzlauer berg.i even have flake's address, but i don't know if it's real. the street exists,cause i searched it on the berlin map.

Oh cool, I didn't know that about Berlin. That makes another reason for me to visit! It is a very beautiful city - I'd love to live there.
So why do they spell Rammstein with a double M? If the place is called Ramstein, surely the band should be too... is it just because it sounds cool or is it to do with the thing you said about a dick?

because they were forbidden to use the name Ramstein.it was contoversal.
so they add another m.

No one. I think dark_night was just speculating.
I think they used the name Rammstein, and not RaMstein, because they didn't want always to be linked to that place.

New album being mixed
The official site has been updated with the current progress of the new album. It was recorded in Spain with additional choir and strings recordings in Berlin. The mixing is being done outside of Germany. The song for the new single has not yet been decided. Release dates for the single and the album have not yet been set.

In 1992, I thought. It was during an airshow, when the planes were trying to do a salto, several just crashed in the public, causing 80 dead.

Oh dear, that's very unfortunate. I've seen a crash at an airshow - fortunately I was not very near to it, and it was horrific. I can understand the song Rammstein a little better now...

after 4 hours of sketching rammstein are finally on my wall.i wrote 'rammstein' in their letters on the wall and that took me 4 fuckin hours!i was using 5 rulers and i used 2 pencils.
