all of Floyd's albums are beyond anything else in music except momentary lapse of reason and obscurred by clouds. Especially Meddle(my personal fav), Dark Side, Animals, and the Wall. Wish You Were Here is excellent, but I feel it's a bit overrated. I'm fond of the Final Cut as well.

I love all of their albums, especially The Wall, Wish You Were Here, and Dark Side of the Moon. I really think that Wish You Were Here is the best song ever made.

Also, has anyone else watched Wizard of Oz with Dark Side of the Moon on? There are a bunch of similiarities between the album and the movie. Try it out, here's a website telling you what to do to see the similiarities: http://www.synchronicityarkive.com/dsotr.php

Pink Floyd is a true mastery of music. Hopelessly good, a testament to the supreme talent of Roger Waters and David Gilmour. It is a shame that they are misconstrued as simply an acid band, for their music comes not from drugs, but sheer creative genius.
Audio energy,
currents of rhythm and life,
poets of human faculty,
architects of sound.

Pink Floyd, oh geez! They have been such a big part of my life. Such an influence on my own music. They are absolute genius! There have been many many times when I have been trippin and totally traveled to their world. Their creativity of each song is just astounding! The music is phanominal. Completely profound and beautiful in each individual song. For the few, FEW, of you that just don't understand where they are coming from, I feel sorry for you. Sorry that you couldn't, nor will ever comprehend their empowering sense of style and genre. They changed rock forever! Live on Floyd! I love you! Peace

I bet you were strangely aroused Jake.......You're obviously a derranged deviant. And what ever Grandad you happened to be talking about can always take great pleasure in knowing that he is cosiderably richer than you!..........Rave on

First of all Jake Williams. You can kiss me ass, THEN suck my dick!!! What's with all the posts(positive and negative) equating pink floyd with acid. Yea Pink Floyd does go good with acid but I don't think the band itself did drugs that much(obviously
not counting Syd Barrett). Yea they made some amazing music. Individually they had little talent. But collectively the were very good at one thing. Making Pink Floyd music. It seems that the longer they were together the less experimental their music got. And while they may not have been completely comfortable being a "space rock" band in many ways I emjoy their pre Dark Side stuff more, though I'm certainly no elitest about ANYTHING. Close-mindedness = willfull ignorance. C-ya

I believe that their music will be enjoyed by our grandchildren for the message/sound is timeless. It is hard for me to imagine anyone taking issue with that.

>>By lv2read   (Wednesday, 13 Aug 2003 17:53)

will they have any concert?
please write me!

I grew up listening to Floyd, and I still do.Their abulms can be played on repeat again and again, you just never tire of listening to them. I even played them to my daughter while I was pregnant, just to give her a taste of great music!!!

What are you doing? Why are you reading about it? Listen it!

>>By Loser   (Friday, 29 Aug 2003 17:48)

I used to cycle across Granchester Meadows on my way to college...which used to be the Cambridge High School for Boys where some of the band members went.
Waters has a great way of expressing the quiet English rage in words and Gilmour does a good job guitar-wise.

Wish You Were Here is a beautiful song.

>>By mia wallace   (Saturday, 6 Sep 2003 20:13)

I agree with most of you guys. Wish You Were Here is one of the best pieces of music - any music - I've ever heard and I've listened to alot. I'm only 16 so I missed out their main time but they're still brilliant, some of my friends love them too. Brick in the Wall is my favourite song when I'm in college! Anyone who thinks they're bad should get a sense of music perception. Pink Floyd have meaning in their songs modern punk can't even understand. I love Waters, but I prefer Gilmour to Syd Barret - though Arnold Layne ain't bad. If you like Pink Floyd, you might like Feeder, a sort of modern band with less elaborate solos and faster songs, but similar sort of mood and meaning. I've also heard that, to commorate the release of Dark Side of the Moon, the Aussie Pink Floyd Show are doing a tour of England, and they're supposed to be pretty good.
Rock on the Floyd!!

Pink Floyd? Yeah baby, yeah. My vote goes to Delicate Sound of Thunder, live and a mix of the great ones.

Pathetic 'angry' schoolboy poetry set to utterly dull music noodled by humourless conservative voting musos who are probably amazed that anyone bought into it.

>>By debucket   (Wednesday, 10 Dec 2003 04:01)

Jake Williams, you're a FLAMING IDIOT! Sounds like you have personal experience with a dangly doodle. Too bad for you, wanker. You and "debucket" (GAY ASS NAME!) are showing your complete ignorance of this band by calling them druggies and "conservative voters". You totally sad, whiney little bitches haven't a clue! Pink Floyd were NEVER druggies except for Syd, and that was enough to keep the rest of the band away from the stuff. And Rogers alone has been enough of a beacon against the onslaught of conservatism for the rest of the band, but Wright and Mason have often voiced mutual political views that are far from conservative. It shows that you're just sounding off to see your little empty thoughts online, because just a casual listener would know that the band's politics are anything but conservative. Or maybe it's just that the two of you are simply TO STUPID to understand the words (all those big ol' words scare you widdle boys?) written for "Dark Side..." or "The Wall". You guys probably listen to lameass frat rock like hottie and the blowjobs, or dave matthews (the worst singer ever?).
