Megadeth is the greatest band ever,
My friend loves Metallica, and he says that Kirk is better than Dave... I said maybe, but I can judge according to the solos, and solos played by Dave are better than the ones played by Kirk... So he told me that he can play the solo in Hangar 18( although my friend is a beginner guitarist ), and he still thinks that he can play it! The poor guy, he thinks he is going to play it! I think that even Kirk won't be able to play it!

Megadeth was amazing. I think they were far better than Metallica. Metallica was great up untill the black label album and then with Load lost it somewhat and then with reload they werew totaly shit, trying to live off the fact that they werew such a comerical band, and tryed to extend their appeal to the loser public who listen to mainstream rock/pop stuff etc. Megadeth were great right up untill the end and hopefully Dave will pull through rehabilitation on his arm and come back as strong as ever

Megadeth really kicks. I used to love Metallica till they were Metallica. After their Black Album, they have become
Metallic Boys joining the likes of Backstreet Boys and all other good for nothing Boy bands. I think we should stop this
discussion and comparison of a great metal band with a boy band (Metallic Boys). It's very sad that Marty departed.
Anyway dont compare with a boy band with a Metal band. Compare them with metal bands like Testament.

Listening to cryptic writings atm. Great album. I miss the fact that they wont be making new music anymore. Dave mustaine is a genious. I just hope rehabilitation on his arm will come through and megadeth will start making new music. I will never give up waiting.
I don't compare with metallica as they are different genres now but maybe things will change when metallicas new album comes out in a few weeks.

Im sorry my friends. You are all mostly just a bunch of Idiots. MegadetH is a great band and do all sorts of cool stuff but MetallicA is better. They always have been and always will be. Dave was pissed he got kicked out of MetallicA. He knows that MetallicA is better because he copies everything they do. Even the name with the two capitilized letters.... They even went "soft" the same time MetallicA did. They are just copying MetallicA as they should be because they know who there betters are. Kirk hammets Guitar solos are much better rythmicly. Just listen to Master of Puppets. Also, they always have been good. The black album was what every rock band can only dream of achiving. To influence so many people and become gods. Also, how many albums have MegadetH sold? Not over 90 million, I gurantee you. Soon it will be over 100 Million with their new album that comes out soon. When is MegadetH putting out a new album? Oh... I forgot, they dont exist anymore!!!!!! They will probably never get back together and if they do, they will be more of a "sellout" then anyone can ever try and pin on MetallicA. I also dare anyone to tell me why MetallicA are sellouts... I will counter it all.

check out songs like to live is to die, orion, blackened, the call of ktulu, fade to black, and
one( the list can go on for days). these songs all posses the best solos ever. dave ain't shit

We all know that both of them ( Metallica and Megadeth) are the geatest bands ever. I love both of them and have all of their CD's and I listen to them everytime and I enjoy it. And I feel very sorry for what happend to Dave's hand, and I hope he comes back better than ever.
By the way, you have to listen to the new album of Metallica. It's one of the heaviest albums that I have ever listened to. So go and listen to this new Metallica, they are back heavier than ever.

metallica and megadeth r both great bands. but let's face it. Dave mustaine's voice is shit. i admit he plays faster than kirk but kirk is more rhythmic.And James sings better than mustaine. i agree with above but dave really ruins megadeth with his fukin voice id prefer if they did instrumentals, metallica arent as good musicaly as megadeth but james voice seems more suited to rock than dave's, they are both good and metallica has gone really shit after the black album but megadeth have stayed the same i suppose. the only credit i can put to metallica is that they are trying to change and megadeth are playin safe doin what they are good at, so both are good. Arguing about which band (Metallica or Megadeth) is better, is a silly thing to do. Everyone seems to judge quality on their preference and opinion of music. It would be possible to judge which musician is better based on talent, but this too is vague. A musician could be the most talented guitarist in the world, but if they make ingeniously structured music that sounds like ass, who cares?
Metallica in the 80's was dependent on speed and heavy riffs, backed by James' growling vocals. People liked it, that is why they are a success. (Although when they slowed down in the Loads, and the style didn't suit their past target audience, people got their panties in a bundle. It's still good music, just different.)
Megadeth (Read, Dave) specifically made his band to sound faster than Metallica. Early Megadeth was indeed much faster than Metallica, and hardly any guitar riffs were played on the low E string creating a less heavy sound than Metallica. People liked it, that is why they are a success.
Comparing the two bands as far as talent goes is not easy. Especially since most of the people who are comparing them are merely amateurs - if that - themselves. In my personal opinion I find that as far as ability on the guitar is concerned, Pitrelli is slightly better than Dave, James, and Kirk. Dave has been quoted, stating Pitrelli was better than himself. But is that enough information to determine which band is better? Hardly. You must factor in over all style, vocals, structure, riffs, tempo. I'm talking opinionated things here. In short - who are you to say which ones better? Just another Jerk off.

Mustaine was by far the most talented musician in both metallica and megadeth, Hetfield was a better vocalist but he definitely was no mustaine on rhythm and i would say megadeth were the more trashier band in the early days with peace sell and so far so good, no metallica can compare to the speed of rust in peace. But at the same time Metallica done some fucking great stuff and were in their prime with Cliff. So its not about comparing the diference in the music because megadeth and metallica were two different sounds and both really had some great songs, it is impossible to be a die hard fan of one band and hate the other because if thats the case your not in it for the music, but just some stupid fukin kid in it for the trend, fuk dat.
