A lot of LPs songs have the same general pattern to them. Remember I had Hybrid Theory.... and a LOT of their songs sounded the same to me. They all start with some guitar things (often times starting soft, then getting harder... Then there's either singing (or rapping), which is generally fairly mellow, then the chorus is heavier than the rest of the song and contains a line of singing then some talking shit.... Then back to the same softer stuff, and so on and so forth)... It's ALL the same general pattern. Soft, heavy, soft, heavy, singing followed by talking, singing followed by talking. They sometimes change tempos to make you THINK the songs are different, but in fact, they're not.

I give them credit for playing instruments and writing their songs. That's more than I can say for a lot of bands. They just need better song writing ability.... Because frankly, Songs like that get boring fast.

To some people they may get boring, but others grow to love them even more over time. It depends what your taste is.

yer that guys right!
seen a load of live vids by them from mtv2, and it sucked so bad!
they used to be ok i spose, but then they did Reanimation....which is shit....then they did metiora....also crap AND NOW they are doing a remix of metiora as well....wtf?
also they are doing some rap thing with some other guy i think the best way to describe it is...Chav Rock
it sucks
Listen to Belvedere they are much better....or Thrice they are just as good....and unlike L.P, THEY CAN PUT ON AN AMAZING LIVE SHOW

You have to heard the Numb/Encore then it is a very good song.
Linkin Park Rocks ass!

>>By linkin_park_girl666   (Tuesday, 7 Dec 2004 15:54)

Encore/Numb IS a good song.

>>By T.Montana   (Tuesday, 7 Dec 2004 19:18)

ya i agree w/punk child....in addition to that i didn't really like their last studio album (Meteora) that much at all....i bought it the week it came out and got tired of it that same day..i knew that radio was gonna over play their songs....i didn't hear anything different or unique about it...to me it just sounded like a continuation of their first album (Hybrid Theory)...now their first album was amazing and i still love it....everytime i listen to it i just let it play all the way through.....i relate to every song on there...Meteora got too pop-ish for my taste...as soon as i hear one of their recent singles on the radio i change it....i just hope that they will be able to re-invent their music on their next album...cuz i do think that they're a really great talented innovative band...despite their effort on their last album

For the first few years I was completly obsessed with LP. They weren't that well known yet, I suppose. Didn't think much of Reanimation, although it's got 2 good songs. Now, Meteora was a huge dissapointment. Most teenie shows on TV started playing Somewhere I Belong, and they lost what they had achieved with HT.

When HT came out, I could ask people if they liked LP and got an answer "I don't know them." Those were good times.

Anyway, I liked them better when they were quite unknown and unreckognized by teenie-bopper fans.

Hey! Linkin Park sooo need to come to england!

>>By Lottie9590   (Wednesday, 9 Feb 2005 19:44)

I was really upset by this Collision Course thing coz I think it sounds horrible... all of it except the actual Linkin Park stuff. I love Linkin Park but Jay-Z? Just... no.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Wednesday, 9 Feb 2005 21:10)

Now, i'm not a "fan" of Linkin Park, but i can tell when i hear a good track by them. I just needed to ask you guys something: When your favorite band goes "pop" and most fans are "teenyboppers", it doesn't sound good anymore, huh?

I think that's bullshit. When i listen to music, i don't think about how popular they are, or what kinda fans they got. If i hear a good gothic-song, i don't diss it because the players are goths. Judge the music, not the appearance, fan-base and status.

>>By T.Montana   (Wednesday, 9 Feb 2005 21:40)

I'm not big on rap, in fact I can't stand rap, but Linkin Park mixes a standable amount of rap with rock to form a perfect NuMetal band. Hybrid Theory is so awesome, Meteora as well, Reanimation isn't all that great except for "My December". But hey, they rock my socks!

......heh,linkin park is a really childish band.
Don`t be angry at me but it`s only my opinion.
Their music sucks!
It`s written for children from 10-15 years old.Their music doesn`t know wot is creativity.
They are only showmen, but serious musicians-noooo...

>>By nesha   (Tuesday, 1 Mar 2005 13:03)

T.Montana: I agree with you - I don't care what everyone else thinks about Linkin Park - for me it's the music they put out that I appreciate
Wednesday: I agree with you too - I like Linkin Park but throw in Jay-Z and you have WAY too much rap which is why I hate that album
nesha: I can see your point but I think LP are serious musicians - I would love to be doing what they're doing, even if I wasn't getting all of that money. Fact is that a lot of their stuff is really original

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Wednesday, 2 Mar 2005 18:56)

I haven't really heard enough to judge them, but that's because a) what I have heard is terrible and b) I know what T.Montana eant, but in my experience most bands whose fans are all 'teenie-boppers' suck, so I don't have time to waste on a band who appear to be, as Nesha noted, very childish and not very interesting. Or talented.

read it fast, kids, before it gets deleted!!!

>>By Flagg   (Wednesday, 2 Mar 2005 22:25)

I'm a fan but I'm surely not a teeny bopper - how does one qualify a teeny bopper, anyway?

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Thursday, 3 Mar 2005 00:38)

each generation develops quicker than the last one.. teens know more than some of the adults.. so maybe what LP sing about actualy so universal, i mean, any body can relate to what they say, that even teens can.. but somehow adults feel threatend by that.. they think, oh, a little boy is listening to that music so i guess the music is realy stupid, not for my IQ level..
well maybe, that little boy knows more things than you think he does..
LP talk about things that they experienced in the past.. and been a teen was in there past to.. but still, i dont think that their music is for 10-15 year old kids.. because what they sing about actualy can be reffered to adults as well.. try listening first, not just to the music, but to the lyrics altogether..
i'm pretty serious person, smart person.. and i dont want people to think that i'm a teenie-booper, just because i listen to LP.. my father listens to LP, what does it make him? and he knows more bands than you do, all kinds of bands of all kinds of genres... so this theory "bands that have teeny boopers listeners- suck" - hmm.. wrong 8)

>>By Lincoln   (Thursday, 3 Mar 2005 14:01)

Does it really matter who listens to the music? Surely, as long you like the music you listen to, you shouldn't feel pressured to listen to some other stuff just because it's listened to by 'Teenieboppers'?!

>>By Bitch Fit   (Friday, 11 Mar 2005 20:11)

The trouble is that often the fans of Linkin Park get insulted for following the trend like the teenieboppers and this peer pressure stops them from listening to the band

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Saturday, 12 Mar 2005 22:55)

I saw Linkin Park last summer when they were out on their Project Revolution Tour and I must say that I was blown away....All the acts were great in their own right....tis was a loooong but joyous fun filled day.....By the time Linkin Park came out and on I for one was gettin tired....but the rest of the crowd was just gearing up....These guys did NOT sing one song alone....the entire audience sang along with every song....that right there must tell you something....these boys have touched alot of people in their own way and that is truely amazing.....I was i awe and also very happy to be sharing in that experience.....was a great day....a great concert....a great memory

>>By dmaria   (Sunday, 20 Mar 2005 07:02)

Where was the news, that LP is doing a remix-album of Meteora? I haven't heard a thing about that project (i doubt there will even be one). But i know, that Mike Shinoda is recording his solo hiphop-album. I liked Re-Animation, so i'm looking forward, what Mike comes up this time...

>>By T.Montana   (Sunday, 20 Mar 2005 20:10)

It's called Collision Course and it came out last year and it sucks serious shit

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Monday, 21 Mar 2005 22:08)

it doesnt suck.. it's pretty relaxing little project.. it's not their official new album.. it's a side project.. mash-up.. suggest you to watch the dvd CC.. pretty funny, contains the concert, which is so cool.. you see jay-z's fans singing LP's songs.. and LP's fans singing JAY-Z's songs..

>>By Lincoln   (Tuesday, 22 Mar 2005 12:55)

Collision Course was no "Meteora-remix". It contained songs from both LP albums, and the basic idead was, that Jay-Z and Linkin Park mashed there songs together. So you're pretty far out with that comment...

>>By T.Montana   (Tuesday, 22 Mar 2005 19:48)

What songs from Hybrid Theory does it have? As far as I'm concerned it's the biggest pile of shit that any of my 100 favourite bands has ever come out with

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Saturday, 26 Mar 2005 21:40)

it has in the end, papercut, points of authority, one step closer..
