How can anyone like a band that doesn't write their own music, play their own instruments, or even sing their own songs? That's not music. I hope everyone...including Good Charlotte themselves...realize that they are not a punk band and shouldn't make any efforts to be one. Punk rock is not about image or looks, and neither is music. Good Charlotte is a poppy boy band, they're the same as N'SYNC. Bowling for Soup is one of the poppier punk bands, but all of their music is produced by them. And their voices aren't computerized.

I have a confession to make, I actually liked Good Charlotte's "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" BEFORE I took my dad's advice to buy a Beatles cd. Now I see very little hope in how Good Charlotte can survive the next decade. I sure am glad I didn't jump on the bandwagon because they promise only lies. Good Charlotte's next album could be their make-or-break album. If it's good, they get a second chance; if its bad, they're dead.

I know I tried to sound all diplomatic and non-judgemental in my last post. I believe all of the points I made, but the truth is I hate them. They're sick bastards and they don't represent music at all. And now they're touring with Something Corporate....which I'm sure will tarnish Something Corporate's reputation in the minds of people who listen to real music.

I actually hope that Good Charlotte can make a good album out of their next one. If they don't all hope is lost. Their days are numbered, and Good Charlotte should know it.

Bailey makes some very good points. And another thing is that good charlotte are really not all that hot. I mean, the ONLY reason you shallow pricks think theyre hot is because they are the new "it" band on mtv. its because mtv tells you that theyre hot, and like ignorant fucks you listen to that. you follow trl like robots. for fucks sake grow up and stop with liking fake bands for their looks.

I have to agree with Knoxville grl on the MTV part. Too many people assume that what they see on TRL really are "the most requeated songs in the country". Bull(bleep). I bet you Carson Daly gets paid to say all those nice things about all those crappy bands. Get up and listen to something else. Good Charlotte isn't using their popularity very much right now. Too many people are jumping on the bandawagon. I want to burn the bandawagon down to the ground*maniacal laugh*.

Benji and Joel seem to be the only members of the band to appear on anything. Either the other 2 don't like being on mtv all that much (in which in that case I wouldn't blame them), or Benji and Joel are the only "hot" and "in style" members of the band. They act too into themselves. Conceited bastards.
Good Charlotte can't even get thier own drummer, and gc fans call them a true punk band. Who the hell are they to say something like that. GC is a poor excuse for a band of ANY genre.

Um, crazysockgremlin they're more like pop-rock, but they are NOT punk. They are not and never will be. Punk was never meant to be mainstream...and good charlotte is BEYOND mainstream. They are so far in, no spikey hair or studded belts can save them now. They completely sold out. How can a punk band be trl regulars? trl is strictly a pop/rap show isn't it? See, no real rock on that show. gc have all these "lyke omfg he's so hot he's the new 'it' guy" type if girls loving them and claiming to be thier bitches. That's just sick.
Stereotypical popular people huh? Hmm, good charlotte is popular. they are very POPular especially among teenyboppers.

I saw Good Charlotte on TRL(the mot ignorant countdown in the country) and they said about how they know they aren't the greatest band in the world and that "they are good at nothing". I think this is sarcasm and they were just joking but the funniest part was the TRL hosts telling them that it wasn't true and they are a good band. I'm telling you, TRL is paid to say all those nice things about all those crappy bands. Another thing I noticed is that all five members of Good Charlotte were on tv, not just Benji and Joel. Good Charlotte is not punk, they are a pop band, get it right crazysockgremlin. Sk8ter Gurl, a fine example of a poser.

I found this link to MTV about Good Charlotte producing their next album. They say "nobody will be disappointed", they better hope nobody's disappointed or else they're dead. And Good Charlotte's last single of their second album will be "Hold On". Am I excited? No...

FutbolFreak, I guess thats up for trl and the rest of the mtv pricks to decide. If the next album is like the old stuff that their old fans liked, chances are mtv wont like it. and, if mtv doesnt like it then they wont put any gc stuff on tv. and if it isnt on tv, then teenyboppers will not buy it because it isnt new and trendy.

I only saw a small fraction of the VMA's(I have better things to do, like sleep). I saw Good Charlotte LOSE to Linkin Park(I would've loved to see the White Stripes win). But then again, that video was released, like a year ago. Anyways I heard that Good Charlotte destroyed the stage while performing at the VMA's. A pop band tearing up the stage, what could be cheesier...

Good Charlotte won but yea it does prove that the only thing theyre good at is making videos, not good music.
The only parts of the VMAs I liked were the parts with chris rock (he's funny) and when skateboarders bam margera and tony hawk presented...THATS IT.
