The Beatles deserved every bit of recognition and praise that they got. I love them. If you don't then go get the white album. It's one of the best.

original, unique and ambigous but REALLY FUCKIN GOOD.

The Beetles are a legend. No one could ever take their place, they are the ones that made the 60's and 70's!!! Beetles kick major ass, all they ever wanted was peace, love and happiness and that can never be overrated!!!!!

THE BEETLES KICK MAJOR ASS!!!!!!!!

influence, 'trend' that transcends over a decade, style, creativity and a real voice. they influenced more people than any other musical group in the history of musical groups.

people weren't offended simply because john lennon said that they were 'bigger than jesus,' as if this was some sort of 'blasphemy.' people were offended because they realized it was true and their religious ideals were at stake in the light of the Truth. how hard is that whenever this is the message they bring:

"...and in the end the love you take is equal to the love you take...'

>>By beat4   (Saturday, 22 Feb 2003 23:33)

I am the twin brother of the guy that wrote in. I believe he was making a joke. It is so obvious that the Beatles are a great band. Anyone who didn't think so would have to be borderline retarded. Peace.

>>By The Great Neutrino's brother   (Saturday, 1 Mar 2003 21:49)

My brother is correct. Some of the Beatles songs are inspired, others aren't. My point is they *were* overated, but as they matured (stylistically as well as vocally) they moved into a time of rich, imaginative lyrics completely unlike when they began. They moved from a pop, boy band to an inventive musical group. So when I say they were highly overated, I am joking. To those that questioned my statement, let the music itself prove me wrong.

Free your body and soul
Unfold your powerful wings
Climb up the highest mountains
Kick your feet up in the air

You may now live forever
Or return to this earth
Unless you feel good where you are

missed by your friends

DEEZ BIG OL BEACH BOY NUTS ON THE BEETLES FOREHEAD.

The Beetles are overratted. The hype was bigger then the music. Where were the Beetles in the 70's 80's 90's? They were no where. The Beach Boys were on tour and putting out Albums. Brian Wilson is the greatest musical mind of the 60's and beyond. LONG LIVE DENNIS WILSON, CARL WILSON, GOD BLESS YOU BOTH. LIVE IN ROCK AND HEAVEN FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!

>>By DEEZ NUTS   (Thursday, 27 Mar 2003 05:32)

>>By joe   (Thursday, 1 May 2003 18:17)

I love the beatles, really, and I think I'm the youngest Beatle-fan because I'm 10 years old. Very Rock'n'roll I LOVE THEM I LOVE JOHN, I LOVE PAUL, I LOVE RINGO, I LOVE GEORGE XXX

>>By Michelle   (Saturday, 10 May 2003 21:47)

Whenever I don't know what to listen to or get sick of current music, I put on a Beatles record and all is well again. Their music never seems to get outdated. Timeless stuff. And... Its Gettting Better All the Time. Favorite albums: The White Album, Beatles Second Album, Revolver, and.... Beatles '65 (thats the one with I'll Be Back, I Feel Fine, She's A Woman, Baby's In Black, and Rock n' Roll Music)

>>By AGITATOR___   (Wednesday, 14 May 2003 03:34)

I think that the Beatles are a really awesome contribution to the development of rock and roll, but if you look at all of THEIR influences....like Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Buddy Holly.. they would have never picked up guitars and a drum kit and started playing.. so all of the credit for great rock and roll should not go to the Beatles because they borrowed many styles of playing from all of the 50s greats and from LSD and marijuana... haha...

In this Beatles class I am taking I have learned a lot about a lot... maybe before you make a discussion on the Beatles.. you might want to learn a bit more about them then.. the Ed Sullivan Show and the "bigger than Jesus" contraversy..

:)

The Rolling Stones have more heart , rhytm and soul than the Beatles.

>>By Roc Awn   (Wednesday, 28 May 2003 08:39)

I have a very rare copy of the White Album. Instead of a white cover, it has the four Beatle pictures from inside the album done in a Warhole-like blue/black ink job.

Anywho, those who influenced the Beatles...like Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Little Ritchie, etc. would never transcend music as the Beatles had. Neither did the Beach Boys...I mean, even a name like 'Beach Boys' limits how far they can go musically. Did you think "Cocomo" was cutting edge or a modern version of the same crap they always made? (Hint: it was the latter.)

The Beatles' method of growth and development was covering the songs of their favorite artists, writing songs similar to them, perfecting them, and then (with a little help from their friend Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds <LSD>) tried new styles, redefining music all together. Thank God for the Beatles!

go neutrion- the beatles ARE highly over rated

>>By neutrion II   (Thursday, 3 Jul 2003 09:10)

I don't think the Beatles are not overrated. It's all a matter of personal taste of course, but I think that the Beatles are the greatest band that ever will be of ever will be. I like Many different types of music from King Crimson to Tool. But for someone to say the Beatles sucks of Tool sucks, just makes look stupid. Some people may not like Beethoven, but that doesn't keep him from one of the most important artists in history. Hell I don't particularly care for Mozart but that keep him from beeing a very important and influential composer. I really don't know what it is about the Beatles I love so much. I think I was maybe ten years old when I rented a Beatles documentary from the library. I've been hooked ever since...peace
