Whenever I come across someone who says: I don't care about The Beatles! - I make a conclusion this person is of no interest for me. It doesn't mean there's nothing else beside them, but...

It's a true miracle when four nice lads come together to stage something fascinating.

My life would be nothing without The Beatles, they brought me to music and through their music I learned to love other music styles, Jazz, Classic nearly everything.
The Beatles are like Mozart or Beethoven, there will never be a Band like this and their songs will be sung in hundreds of years.....
If anybody says overated....I canĀ“t understand...

Yeah, the impact, yeah...

They were in the right place at the right time, the world was waiting for a group like this, but The Beatles let no one down. They delivered by the ton-full in every department.

Aha, and they predetermined the whole pop for decades to come...

I've just been listening to the "Love" album for the first time, & the material sounds just as great even after remixing. No dilution or diminution of power there.
The production's fine after remastering too.

Basically what strikes is the musical idea behind this creation, I mean manner of musical thinking. Sure, quality of sound matters, but there's also this quality of mind and the latter is superb, so I think.

Until The Beatles' White album was created, I don't think any band had produced such a diverse selection of work. I really doubt that any other band has done so since then either.

>>By nonyeb   (Saturday, 24 Nov 2007 14:29)

Diverse certainly not, but so many things were still invented by them in music and yes, they were immensely ahead of their time.

>>By Vallerius   (Monday, 26 Nov 2007 15:29)

I would like to know the same of any band that created a body of work that was as diverse as that of The Beatles.

>>By nonyeb   (Monday, 26 Nov 2007 19:15)

I'll rephrase that! I would like to know the name of any band that created a body of work that was as diverse as that of The Beatles.

>>By nonyeb   (Tuesday, 27 Nov 2007 07:48)

Yeah, sure. In a way the same is true for another outstanding band, I mean, the Queen. Just like the Beatles they produced this very special retro vibe.

>>By Vallerius   (Sunday, 16 Dec 2007 20:09)

Queen were a very good band but The Beatles were a great or greater band before everyone else in the modern pop/rock era. Pioneers if you like. They set such a huge standard, I can't see any others in this field emulating it.

>>By nonyeb   (Monday, 17 Dec 2007 00:44)

Sure, but to me one thing is astounding - seeing somebody cross over the boundaries which are unthinkable for everyone. The Fab Four were that kind of folks, and... The Queen, too. Though we don't evaluate the role, the aftermath and the general significance thereof. But anyway I always go a big WOW each time I see an artist break the barriers...

I really don't think that anyone since John Lennon has produced anything as comparatively innovative as Strawberry Fields Forever, Tomorrow Never Knows, and I Am The Walrus.

>>By nonyeb   (Saturday, 29 Mar 2008 03:55)

Absolutely, yeah... To this day I listen to their songs and I just can't believe my ears, how good it really is.

>>By Vallerius   (Sunday, 30 Mar 2008 16:14)

Did you know the philosopher Theodore Adorno owned the rights to all their songs until Michael Jackson bought them at an auction? Think about that. I have no idea what that means.

>>By crazyhorse   (Saturday, 26 Apr 2008 10:00)

Hey... money is the damn irrelevant thing, to my view. I think the royalties matter, but not to us, who here simply to enjoy there music, not their life standard.

>>By Vallerius   (Wednesday, 18 Jun 2008 17:14)

as someone who was born and bred in the land of innovative music ..can i just ask that everyone...please please me by getting the spelling right!it's spelt BEATLES and not BEETLES!thankyou :)

The Beatles are alright. I don't see the big fuss over them, seriously. Some of their songs are fun, most are complete shit, and boring.

>>By carnivirus   (Thursday, 19 Jun 2008 07:16)

Carnivirus, it's impossible to adeqately describe in words the impact that The Beatles made during the 1960s & for many years after. You had to be there to experience this, & you, being 19, just weren't.
You're obviously aware of their reputation & that reputation has a basis that you're too young to understand.

It's the same like stating: The planet Sun is O.K., though there're other planets like Venus...

Hey. Ozzy thinks their God. Good enough for me.

I found lately what I'd say if I had a chance to talk to Sir McCartney... I'd say to him: Oh, Paul, you're such a lucky person, you had a unique opportunity to side with John Lennon!
