alright i love korn and i have since fifth grade..now being in eleventh and stinkfist i'm sorry you're wrong..if you ever listened to music..fieldy is ahorrible bassist and yes david is a pretty good drummer and head and monkey are ok on guitar..now dont get me wrong i love them...and have since i was young..but i also listen to some metal and if you listen to metal and then go back you'll understand that you're wrong and they arent that great..yea they have talent but they're not as great as you're saying also they have sold out...look at their self-titled and look at take a look in the mirror..big difference..they started new metal..but they've gotten in too far and not stuck with what they were and have transformed into what new metal is today..i still like them..but they're older stuff is much better..and they're not that talented (sorry to correct you on this but listen to actual metal and then come and tell me that they are awesome musicians) but i will agree they do put they're heart and emotion on it!

blackdyedrose, real metal? My favorite bands are Opeth, Metallica, In Flames, Pantera, Sepultura, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Slayer and Dimmu Borgir. Thats 'real metal' as you called it. Don't try and judge me when you don't even know me. I've been a metalhead since I was very young. Korn aren't amazing musicians its true, but Munky and Head aren't trying to be Hendrix. They're not shredders or big soloists, they use they're guitars as weapons instead of instruments, which is very effective. David is an excellent drummer. Listen to Chi and Beg For Me, he rips it up. I'm a bass player myself, and I believe Fieldy to be a very good bassist. Ok so his strings are as loose as fuck and his basslines are usually very simple, but just listen to Here To Stay and Clown. Two massive songs, and the bass makes them both. He brings songs to life. For some reason its cool for everyone to hate on Fieldy, but I'm not afraid to stick up for him. And as for them selling out, I'm sorry but what you said was bullshit. So they changed their style, how the hell does that make them sellouts? I thought they'd sold out after Untouchables cos that album was boring and weak, but then they made Take A Look In The Mirror. It may be slightly different from their first two albums (although its much more like them than Issues and Untouchables), its extremely hard and heavy and still takes them back to their roots. Also the definition of selling out is when a band starts making radio-friendly music. Take A Look In The Mirror is completely unfriendly to radio, and you never see their videos on MTV or any of the sell out video channels.

i wasnt judging you, my god settle down jesus christ....i was just saying that they have low talent..yeah talent..but not nearly as much as metal...so get off my back i was correcting something you said and then going along with the emotional part..my god settle

>>By Vavin (Saturday, 15 May 2004 16:16)
My ex got me into koRn - hated 'em before, but now I love 'em!!They rule!!!
To all the retards who like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, and start going round dissing KoRn, calling Jon Davis a (I quote!) "retard"...Three things...
1. KoRn created Limp Bizkit!!!
2. KoRn created nu-metal, so Linkin Park were obviously influenced by 'em!!!
3. KoRn know pain...They're not like other sucky bands (*cough Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park*) who sing 'bout sh!t they have no clue 'bout!!!
So all you retarded fans of Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park shut the hell up 'bout KoRn - you can officially flush your retarded fat heads down a toilet, wash out your mouth with dirty bath water and start listening to REAL MUSIC!!!Retards!!

Hey Vavin
Unfortunately, I've only just got into Static-x - one of my mates going to the KoRn concert with me wants to see the support act more than the headliner, lol!I'm gonna borrow a couple of albums off him at some point - I've only heard and seen the videos for The Only and Push It, and from what I've seen, they seem pretty good!!!A good support act for KoRn!!!:-)
I wish I had more muhonies!!I hate being a student sometimes!!!So many albums I wanna get, namely KoRn, SOAD and Static-X!!!
Fieldy is indeed a very good bassist!Love the bass on Got The Life, classic!!
>>By kathy_moose (Monday, 17 May 2004 13:40)

Why's everybody bashin' "Untouchables"? It was a brilliant album, but the audience couldn't appreciate it. I loved it, i still do. Songs like Hear to stay, Hollow life, I'm hiding, No one's there and Thoughtless are amazing new-metal songs.
To the subject, "Is Korn metal or not"? i don't really care. All i know, is that they are too raw and "uncool" to be pop. Maybe they are hard-rock? don't know, don't actually care.
Korn never sold out. They've always been experiating with different sounds, and albums like Issues and Untouchables were that kinda albums. I understand it. No one likes to sound the same all the time.
bottom line is: Korn is a great band. They are doing their own thing and that's alone amazing, if you check out other rock bands these days. And Korn didn't took new-metal "too far". It was these copycats, like Adema, Taproot and Drowning Pool.
>>By Shaggz (Wednesday, 19 May 2004 14:19)
I agree Shagzz. "Untouchables" is a great album. Most notable is their use of keyboards/synthesizers. It really gives a richer and deeper sound to their music. It makes it more "emotional", if I can put it like that. Hollow Life is one of my favorite songs. I think the use of synths brought up the level of their game.
Maybe a lot of fans didn't understand it. I would hardly call this album a sell-out, though. There's not a "pop-friendly" sound to any of these songs.
You can tell when a group's music/sound has become too commercialized.
When Korn starts making "happy" music, then you know they've sold out.
>>By sir-rape-a-lot (Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:51)
Korn is considered "NuMetal" (that's the way it's spelled anyway.) Harder than rock but not exactly heavy metal, with a cutting edge sound.
Their unique and heavy use of pedals, especially hybrids, with their seven string guitars; a dash of hip-hop, experimental technology...all these help to combine the NuMetal sound
>>By sir-rape-a-lot (Wednesday, 19 May 2004 18:00)
I bump 'em in my white van all the time.
Except when I'm creepin'.......
>>By sir-rape-a-lot (Wednesday, 19 May 2004 18:02)
Korn are really boring - all of their songs seem to have the same dull overtones to them. I have to say that Linkin Park are a far better band. Anyone who likes Korn more than Linkin Park clearly has issues. I hope you like my pun. Uh, I think Korn have sold out anyway... their music impresses little kids and that's kinda shameful.
