Yngwie caught my eye back in high school, back in a time where hair bands, unimpressive guitar slop and "junk" ballads were screaming daily from the radio. While Malmsteen could be lumped in to such a genre, he cannot be called slop or junk. His lightning fast scale progressions, amazing solo's and highly technical, if not sometimes a bit drab compositions are the thing of legend. Even those who do not care for his style now remark that he had a huge influence on modern guitar music, especially the "speed" scene.
Malmsteen is one of a kind. Accused of lacking feel, he has introduced us to a style of guitar playing that kicked to the curb the rules, and the standard. Music is better off having heard of Yngwie Malmsteen.

HAHA, Yeah! Yngwie Malmsteen is probably the fastest guitarist ever! I'm going to see him in concert on 3rd April 2003 at the Mean Fiddler in London, England. Shall be sweet!

Yngwie is simply one and only, the others are not important (I mean other Yingwies), since there are lot of his copycats.
He influenced me to strat to play guitar, simply he is beginning and the end of an very interesting segment of the rock music.
Furthermore, if somebody has anything against Yngwie, he or she has no clue about the music.

Yngwie is the daddy!!!!
He is unique because he can shred with so much emotion almost all times, UNLIKE ANY guitarist that shred THAT FAST (they shred nonsense almost all time -like that guy Rusty Cooley who seems faster but i don't give a shit about it, it's just nonsense)....
He is my favorite guitarist, because of his pure genius and incredible facililty (to my eyes and ears it is unmatched, whenever he is shredding or playing those crazy blues ) on the guitar. He always shred with sense of melody
Next to him, for me is Jason Becker who is another genius, but hey!! he just owes so much to the swede.Third comes Petrucci for his facility and his chops, fouth would be Eric Clapton (He plays damn beautiful ). It pisses me off when people attack Yngwie by being repetitive, hey LEARN NOT TO MOCK HIM, HE ALWAYS HAS BEEN HIMSELF AS A GUITARIST, UNLIKE THOSE SHRED FREAKS WHO DOESN'T GIVE YNGWIE CREDIT FOR WHAT THEY CAN DO WITH THEIR FINGERS
