I'm amazed how many people love the guy'z music(yellowman) I'm a great fan,but the sad part is here in South Africa, our media doesn't showcase much reggae than other music types.
N-Eway "BIG UP" all yu yellowman fan,& of course the king himself....

I always thought I was one of the very few people crazy about the king...Readin'now what "Anyhony"said I'm even more impressed. I've never had the pleasure of seeing yelloman perform live, let alone the pleasure of seeing the guy in person. I'm one ture fan with 13 albums & I'm still goin'after more. The guys music is just 2 great 2 get enough of.

From the album "A man you want" I dedicate this song 2 all U faithful Yellowman fans..."Reggae on the move"

King Yellow is the tuffest. His skills are huge, his flows are kinky, and his persona is epic. If anyone knows of where to send fan mail or at least locate the King, please let me know.

Thanks.

Can anyone direct me to a website for a listing of Yellowman's tour dates/locations? I can't find one anywhere! Apparently he is still touring because another user, Anthony, mentioned seeing a show over Memorial Day weekend! I need to find out if/when he's coming back to Vegas, or anywhere nearby!

Help! Shannon :-)

Hello there! I am now finally officially a FLORK member and I'd appreciate an e-mail reply from anyone who has information regarding tour dates for Yellowman. I cannot find anything on any of his websites regarding tour dates. I know he was touring just a few months ago, but he sure doesn't publicize it well ............... HELP!!

I have listened to yellowman since the days of LP's. I have the pleasure to have met yellowman after his set, and spent 4 hrs in deep discussions about life, love, and the world affairs. Winston Foster a.k.a. YELLOWMAN is down to earth, and is one of the most modest, and hardworking performers I've seen. I spent time with him because my brother- in- law is from Spanish town and as a youth, worked on the sound stages in Kingston, Yellowman remembered him after nearly 10 years, and called him by his nickname "Drinks" Yellowman made himself not only availiable to me, but to many adoring fans, including buxom young women requesting autographs in intimate area on their bodies. Much of todays music seen, rap music in particular, owe much of their sucess to the pioneers, of which yellowman is among them. He is a class act, slackness and all.

Can anyone comment about Yellowman's homophobia, specifically his anti-gay remarks made in concert? I had heard that since his cancer his attitude has changed, but it's important for us to know if he is still making prejudicial comments on stage if we are to be involved with his concert. I would definitely not consider such behavior to be a class act, inspirational, or royal in any way. Also I wonder if there are anti-gay remarks in his lyrics, and that's why they are so difficult to find.....? I hope to find that he has changed as the music is indeed top-notch, but I find it strange when people who are minorities and 'different' in some way are bigoted against others. Love and acceptance are the true irie vibes my friends!

i'm a huge fan of yellowman

i have an extensive collection of his work on cd
&

never heard any hint of homophobia in his live shows
&

Hey, I don't know if you could call Yellowman 'homophobic' or what his views on gays are. I personally have one gay man and one lesbian woman in my family. I love them dearly and do enjoy spending much time with them. They are fun! But, when I think about bedroom activities, especially with the man, well, it does gross me out. And with the woman, well, I am a femenine woman, into make up and hair and want to be ... womanly. My lesbian cousin is a bit more manly. It is wierd! It is definitely not the natural norm. So, I just try not to think about it. I can definitely see how a straight man would not respect or admire a gay man. But to call him 'homophobic' meaning that gay men scare him, well, I don't know. But, I have heard lyrics in his music that are not favorable to gays. Check out the song 'Pretty Girl' from his Yellowman Rides Again album (I think that's the one). He says, ... 'if you see a lesbian, tell her you don't love her .... if you see a faggot man, use your hand and cover your ass ... ' That's the only song on which I can give you a direct quote, and the only one that I can think of that mentions gays at all. That album is from the late 1980's. I have not heard any other song lyrics prior to or since that mention gays at all.
Hope that helps. You can decide from there if you wish to continue listening to his music.
