The Who is most definitly one of my favorite bands. They rocked back in 1969, and they are still awsome now. Their song "My Generation" is definitly one of their best!

The Who is easily one of the top five bands of all time. Right up there with Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Guns n' Roses, and the Rolling Stones.

I always kinda like the The Who, but i never considered myself a huge fan until I bought the Live at Leeds album. After listening to it I realised why it has been called the greatest live album ever. Its fucking amazing. John Entwistle was the greatest bass player of all time. I wish I had been able to see them live before he died. There's no way they could be as good now as they were when Keith and John were alive. Pete is still a legend, but the band functioned as a real unit. They had this uncanny ability to play off each other and improvise and still come back to where they left from. Led Zeppelin could do it too, and Pearl Jam can do it on a good night, but there's no way that just Pete and Roger could perform like that nowdays without the other two. Its a great shame.

the who fucking great in earlier days i found them a bit soft but later on i love them

>>By secaap   (Monday, 1 Dec 2003 11:27)

Live at Leeds is definitely an awesome live record, I miss hearing bands that can "play off each other and improvise and still come back to where they left from." The only recent band I have come across like that is Sonic Youth. (Not counting heaps of Blues performers. The Blues is still alive.)

>>By Innotech   (Monday, 22 Dec 2003 16:40)

The Who is Awesome, I have to say. But when you say that todays music is not great, what about bands like Rammstein???? Rammstein is my Favorite band of all time, I do love the Who but I think that I LOVE Rammstein MUCH more.

>>By therion   (Thursday, 25 Mar 2004 00:31)

CHRIST MAN!!!!!!!!!!! How can you not love the Who ??????????? They are the ones that started Rock and Roll !!!!!!!!! Rock and Roll started Metal !!!!!!!!!

>>By RammsteinLiebe   (Saturday, 27 Mar 2004 00:18)

but i am not really a fan of rock and roll and thus not a fan of the who

>>By therion   (Monday, 29 Mar 2004 20:54)

The basis of hard rock comes from bands like Led Zepellin and The Who, with out these bands there would never be any hard Rock. Next step from hardrock is Metal, the first metal bands (at least European metal) had their influences from hard rock, but wanted to sound heavier an dirtier.

With out the who (and other bands from their period) there would have been no Hard Rock abnd there would have been no Metal. So looking down on The Who because you don't like the music they make is like spitting at your own roots.

The Who also had a great influence on Punk, which in fact trough Hardcore influenced bands that would later play death Metal or Grind Core. So matter which way you look, they might deserve some more gratitude.....

>>By Campking   (Monday, 29 Mar 2004 22:26)

what can i say i dont like the who well i am sure they deserve some gratitude for trying i am a metal fan there not my type of music

>>By therion   (Tuesday, 30 Mar 2004 16:17)

The Uncut issue of april includes a free cd with the music that inspired the musical Tommy. You might be surprised ......

>>By XS41   (Thursday, 1 Apr 2004 21:03)

The Who had a brilliant influence on most good modern music - I think without bands like them, music today would be really sucky.
Also their music is really good, although not incredibly varied. It's rather sad how people can call bands like the Who brilliant and then complain about perfectly good modern bands because they don't vary their style at all... how have the Who varied in all of their years?

>>By Flake 1.6   (Sunday, 18 Jul 2004 15:50)

Who are the who?

>>By spikee   (Saturday, 24 Jul 2004 08:28)

WHAT???????? You have never heard of The Who????? Where the hell have you been all of these years? Under a fucking rock or something??????????? Go out to your nearest music store and buy some Who cd's, you'll be hooked by the first song you hear!!
