I just listened to The Dead Weather for the first time, though have been anticipating it now for a month or so. Definitely a good sound, different from anything else Jack White has influenced. A female lead in a rock band is always nice.

I would say the stooges, mc5, the cramps, death(not the metal one) and jon spencer blues explosion

I get the impression that White puts himself around a fair bit, band wise.

Jack white can make anything amazing. Ah Good ole Dead Weather! Allison Mosshart makes the band complete as well OH BOY!
