hey Hedgie: don't call people faggots I don't know what the deal is with everyone saying "oh you're gay" or "shut up fag" it's really fucking annoying and it shows that you don't really know what punk is about... it's about not being prejeduce... whether it's racist, sexist or prejeduce against sexual preference... I know it's not actually saying that you're a homosexual but just using at an insult is very prejeduce in itself any true punk will know what I'm talking about...you should be ashamed asshole!

PS I am completely hederosexual but I'm also not homophobic and don't discriminate against anyone who is different it's their fucking life...

I know what Guy said was really stupid and fucked up and he should just keep it to himself but you could have just called him a dumbshit and told him to fuck off you don't have to show that you're no better than he...
The Clash rules!

RE: Nosupremists. Fair enough i was a bit rash with my statement, but if people want to slag off something that's close to many of us let them do it in an honest manner and not just write shite all over the gaff. And for calling me not a true/real punk!!! What is a true punk then? Is it someone that walks around with a mohawk, biker jacket and boots that listens too the Sex pistols,Is that a punk? NO NO NO, You can where a three piece suit and be a punk, Can't you?.It's about being an individual.

I love the twang of regge the clash have intwined with their sound, it rocks because regge rocks, The Clash are gods.

I have to say that while I don't agree with their political ideologies, the clash were a fantastic band. I'm 17, so I never got a chance to see the guys live, and I think looking back that will probably be one of the greatest regrets of my life. I missed a Mescaleros show onece when I was around fourteen and I've never been able to forgive myself. I heard the new mescaleros album and Joe's cover of redemption song, is the most moving thing I've ever heard. Seriously, band like this will never ever die. They just get remembered. If Iever get round to producing offspring.......to heck with reading/writing the necessity will be london calling.

as most of you people have said, the clash is one of the best bands ever! i love how they infused punk with reggae and even some funky techno beats later on. and as one of you said, it is awesome how every song has a message. So much of the crap today is pointless and it pisses me off. Thats why if i ever start a band, the main reason will be to convey my thoughts and beliefs, not to get girls or whatever!

LONG LIVE THE CLASH!

The Clash were an amazing band & their music will be talked about for years to come! The Clash had everything you could want from a band. They weren't the best of musicians but that didn't matter, they had soul & belief which is the biggest musical qualification. THEY LIKED THEIR POLITICS, THEY LIKED THEIR SPEED & THEY ROCKED! Any Clash fans should check out a band called The Libertines, they've got a clashy kind of sound but are by no means copying them. In fact, I'd go as far to say that they're doing their own thing but for want of saying they sound like someone, The Clash springs to mind because they were just as innovative. So in summary, The Clash rocked...check out The Libertines...& goodbye to all you Clash City Rockers in Garageland!

I was lucky enough to see them live on two occasions.

In Auckland, New Zealand and in San Francisco.

I loved the way they infused a little reggae into their sound.

When I get home from work and need to unwind a little I always reach for "London Calling".

What sort of world is it that takes from us Joe Strummer and Joey Ramone yet leaves us with Justin Timberlake ???

Awwwwww you gotta love the clashes music. My favourite tune is should I stay or should I go but i dont care about the messages, I hate political correctness how can you justify it when you have the monty python predjudice sketch I mean what would the world be like without that sketch.

Anyone bought the new London Calling?

>>By Mickalos   (Sunday, 31 Oct 2004 10:40)

No, because I'm sick of record companies doing this - wasting our money on re-releasing the same album over and over again with a handful of bonus tracks (often less than that) and taking more our money. Who needs deluxe editions anyway - if the original album was good enough, I'll listen to that. I have every Clash album except one (guess?) and I won't buy any of them again no matter how 'digitally remastered' they are.

>>By spikee   (Sunday, 31 Oct 2004 13:19)

I bought the 'Legacy Edition' of London Calling recently. I already had all the songs of the original album in my computer, but I thought it would be worth getting the actual disc, plus the 'Vanilla Tapes' disc and the DVD.
If you can afford to spend about 30 dollars on it, then buy it. I only acquired it because I got a discount on it, and I did not have it on CD.

>>By CHARLOS   (Friday, 23 Dec 2005 00:38)

You don't have to buy the re-releases if you already have them, but there are still people getting into the band even now and it's the easiest way for them to get hold of the record! At least for the fans who feel the necessity to buy another copy just because it's being re-released, they actually get the bonus tracks rather than NOTHING for their money... if you consider your collection complete with just the original albums, that's fair enough! Nobody's forcing you to buy it

P.S.
Hahahahahahaha at that bloke who posted under the name of Joe Strummer...
