Steve Reich


I'm not an expert about music, but, reich makes me feel here and every where.
I could fly lisening his music, realy!

There are no words to describe this emotion.

Just lest fly your mind.

Reich manages to bring complex contemporary music to a wide public.
What is more, it seems Steve Reich has found a way to manipulate time.
(Just listen to the Vermont Counterpoint : at certain moments time seems to run back)

Try listening to "Come Out", an unbelievable piece. About 30 years old and still ahead of its time

It´s one of the most interesting minimal musicians. Much more "developed" and "different" than an average minimalist. For exhample, Phillip Glass is always repeating himself, while Steve Reich explores more different possibilities while maintaining is style.

I'm sure he influenced many of the elecrtonic music of our days. For example Tortoise...

you know this music sucks really, and other than Brian Enoites, I can't imagine someone actually listening to it
