i was bored and wanted to look up some 6FS shit cos i haven't heard anything new by them in a while. read a bio thing and it said that james joined the band before severe. if he's your bro, it must suck to have to go on a message board to try to scrounge up details, eh.

The last 6FS show I observed was in the summer of 2001 in Providence at AS220. It was the Ryan/Pelletier/Kyack/Greenlee line-up and in support of LANDED and US MAPLE. I believe this was the last time they played. The last I knew, Greenlee was still PLEASUREHORSE, Kyack is doing God knows what, Ryan is married with 2 kids and Pelletier is in CHINESE STARS with two ex-ARAB ON RADAR guys. John MacLean is in NYC and has released two 12"'s as JUAN MACLEAN and James Apt (who was fired via e-mail from the band) is not playing music in public anymore. I talked to him about 9 months ago (he won't return my calls any longer) and he was still holding down a respectable job at a well known Boston non-profit. All told I saw 6FS about 15-16 times and I don't think the power of the post-PARANORMALIZED/pre-LAW OF RUINS in 1996-98 shows with Apt and MacLean were ever matched. I remember a pretty fucking powerful "Slave Traitor" at T.T.'s in 1996 (where J. drop kicked a punter out of his way at the end of the set) and an amazing "Sea of Tranquility" at the Cambridge Greek Cultural Centre in 1998 that made me cry. Man, the only bands nowadays who can match what 6FS did are EASY ACTION and OXBOW. Sorry that I don't have anymore info.
