they are good

red house painters is definitely one of the best bands so far. i love the songs, and plus i've never listened to any band who plays music like the do. and i mean never: american music club doesn't sound "exactly" the same, it seems a.m.c. tend to be more punk-ish and r.h.p. are more prog-rock.

The red house painters have become a part of my daily music diet. The music sounds like it is oozing out of every part of Marks soul.Shock me with your pure energy!

These guys are amazing. After hearing them on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack, I started collected their songs, and all of them are great. It is so refreshing to hear, and their anthems have no boundries. Great music to drive home to.

My biggest regret is not seeing them the last time that they played in London. I owned 1 or 2 cd's, but it was only after picking the double "Retrospective" that I fell in love with them. The Smiths used to get me through my teens, RHP get me through life. "Michael" has to be one of the best songs that I've ever heard, with lyrics to rip the veins from your heart!

Please e-mail me if you need a daily dose of this band, because if you do, you will be someone that I can relate too! .....address, spence@mviva.com

I love Red House Painters, if you don't own all the albums, buy them all, you wont regret it!

There songs touch the deepest side of my hearts...

The thing about this band that impresses me the most is that while every record is like a memory in slow motion, it is also a tear encouraging replay of the day that just passed and what we are actually missing.

Red House Painters offer you up a mixture of odd Sadcore misery (first three albums), wonderful folk-pop (Ocean Beach) and some excellent delves into rock with the last too. i do love them so.

If someone could tell me if the Red House are gonna play in Europe. I missed the show in 95 in north of France, and we unfortunatly have very few infos about one of the greatest american group. Wonderfull, not typical, addictive because of the lyrics and the atmosphere.

When I watched the movie "Excess Baggage," I heard RHP for the first time ever. All Mixed Up was the song that made me go out and buy the Songs for a Blue Guitar cd. They are so great!!
Email me with any info about the band, eengels@utk.edu

It feels like a journey of a mellow and sad emotion. I never thought an American band would play a kind of music like this. Unbelieveable!

I have three words for you..............Sun Kil Moon.

Mark is back!

>>By Mr X   (Saturday, 27 Mar 2004 15:43)

I have no words to talk about the band because its music so wondewrful and I dont know what...I dont know English well. And I cant describe my fellings even on my native language. My heart beats faster when I listen for the Mark's music.
Please, send me some tracks from the 'Songs for a Blue Guitar' because the place, at this @#$*ing place where I live there are no shops where I could find any CDs of the RHP. Its amazing. So. I have one song from the Vanilla Sky and their 'Retrospective' But I want more!!!

RHP is defenatly great, Mark Kozelek has such a breakable voice, combined with the sober way of playing... it is great.. he manages to always get me silent, and just sit back to enjoy... Slow core at it's best...

I still think the first mini-lp (ok, it's lengthy but 6 songs make a mini-lp don't they?) is their best work to date

>>By thom   (Sunday, 10 Apr 2005 23:32)

6 songs make an ep yes.
Is that the one you mean from the early 90ties?
I also like his denver covers... you ever hear the denver tribute... The Mark Kozelek songs are great on it.........
one of the few times I feel the cover to be better then the original....

>>By Campking   (Tuesday, 12 Apr 2005 21:25)

The compilation is called "Take me home" and it has been produced by Mark Kozelek.

>>By Campking   (Tuesday, 12 Apr 2005 21:51)

cool! I think I should check it out

Has everyone forgotten about RHP?

I haven't.

I discovered a song by Red House Painters on KTRU, college radio, in about the mid-'90's. I picked up the self-titled LP, Red House Painters,
I could not get into the music at the time probably because I did not want to listen very somber music. Recently, I inserted the CD into my CD changer and this is great music. I really like the CD. I will look for more of their music.
