KARMA POLICE IS A SUBLIME SONG

>>By myp   (Thursday, 14 Nov 2002 21:02)

in one insane depressed mood i bought The Bends and then i realised this was music post suicide so i never listened to Thom Yorkes drone ever again, I know why most people like it, it is because they like music that recognises their own pain but when that does nothing to get them out of their state of mind , recognition is good but it does nothing to improve their mood

>>By soony   (Sunday, 17 Nov 2002 02:14)

Radiohead is a wonderful for living an stressful Life.

>>By Ken   (Tuesday, 19 Nov 2002 06:05)

Radiohead has always brought me a sense of joy but, yet I sort of agree with soony that some of the songs may send the wrong message towards people. yet i have always loved Pablo Honey some of the songs off the cd were made well yet it wasn't great. Kid A was great cd my favorite song is mourning bell.

>>By void   (Friday, 6 Dec 2002 04:28)

I don't agree with soony, cause most of trhe songs of The Bends are pretty cheerful unspite maybe the lyrics...
Don't take it too hard. There are enough bands who give out the same message as well as Radiohead does. (Or actually what the people hear and read)
Just listen to the music!

>>By Mee   (Monday, 9 Dec 2002 20:29)

they , really make me feel better. not becuase i feel like killing myself and i can relate to what thom yorke says just becuase they're good musicians and i like there sound

>>By meh'   (Thursday, 2 Jan 2003 22:52)

I don't get the discussion going on here. As Mee pointed out there are lots of (particularly new) bands that have the same dark pop present on The Bends. What I love on radiohead is it's musical quality. And their capacity to completely reinvent themselves and their music is simply astonishing. They don't just sit down and use the same formulas that made them reach the top, they keep trying new things and breaking thru new territories. What most impresses me is the way I keep seeing on new bands reviews "they sound like radiohead" or "they remind me of radiohead". That's something very few bands can achieve, almost making their own music style.

Regards from Portugal! =)

i really like them - one of my very favorites
BUT what about them saying all this shit about the major companies and capitalism and imperialism and whatever else when they are guilty of making profit from these same companies they renounce being thus a part of what they cririsize? isn't this a contradiction?
anyway "Idioteque" always excites me
and that cover Yorke (with a band i don't remember right now) made of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" is briliant almost beats the original

creep..bulletproof (i wish i was)..just..my iron lung..black star..high n dry..fake plastic tree..no surprises..karma police...idioteque..those tunes..are completely different from each other yet they still got that radiohead kinda vibes...mellow..deep..dark..rocks..n yellow..

>>By hallucinogirL   (Sunday, 23 Feb 2003 06:51)

a great band... the first 3 albums are great.
"Pablo honey" has 3 wonderful songs: "thinking about you", "anyone can play guitar" and "creep". this album shows the old side of radiohead, pretty different if you condider it's later work. for example the song "how do you?" is so different to the radiohead's style.

"the bends" is a great album too... the best songs are "hight & dry", "fake plastic trees" and "nice dream"

"ok computer" is just great, best songs: "exit music (for a film)" and "karma police"

Radiohead seems to me to be the epitome of musical creativity. If anything else, they definitely have some balls writing some of the stuff they come up with. They go completely against every convention set in music up to this point. I love 'em.

So, I'm interested to know what other bands radiohead fans listen to. Besides radiohead, my top 5 are 311, greenday, coldplay, rage against the machine, and beastie boys. i want to buy some new cd's...any suggestions?

>>By roger that   (Monday, 17 Mar 2003 07:15)

Kid A is one of the best CDs of all time. I love that CD, it's so perfect. OK Computer is amazing too, same with The Bends. Amnesiac and Pablo Honey were minor dissapointments to me, but I love most of the songs on them.

>>By ssjchubtoad   (Wednesday, 2 Apr 2003 22:53)

i was the drummer in radiohead until 1990 but i shagged thom yorke's girlfriend so the finished me.

>>By Jay   (Wednesday, 9 Apr 2003 11:23)

reggin the retard Cold play sounds like radiohead--Radiohead will dismatle coldplay and also they've been together far longer---kill yourself

>>By deacon   (Tuesday, 15 Apr 2003 02:45)

Hey roger that listen to MUSE
throw away your green day cds theres better bands around

>>By morge   (Thursday, 17 Apr 2003 14:06)

How could anybody possibly compare Radiohead to Coldplay? I found it hard to even type their names in the same sentence! Coldplay are commercialised pop Dribble & Radiohead are well.......................one of the most influential artists of our time. OK computer is one amazing piece of work but doesn't stand alone with classics such as The Bends and Pablo Honey. Paranoid Android is one my Favourite Radiohead songs and i believe it's completely under-rated. It's so different, so haunting and will remain an all time classic to me forever! I'v never heard any fucking Coldplay songs that made me think let alone even give a damn!

>>By Fuckhead   (Wednesday, 30 Apr 2003 16:30)

By the way Roger that i'm curious to know how u could Possibly put your Greenday CD's in with your Radiohead ones. Dont wanna sound mean but What the hell are u thinking? Greenday?!!?

>>By Fuckhead   (Wednesday, 30 Apr 2003 16:34)

Only two things in life wake me up in the morning and make my commute to work tolerable, and that would be a cup of freshly brewed Costa Rican coffe in my adult sippy cup and Radiohead's The National Anthem blarring out of my car speakers. God I love music that offends the scenses of the capitalist, non authority questioning, pop ingesting, cattle of this world. If you don't like Radiohead, it's because you don't get it!

>>By fytdpwr   (Thursday, 1 May 2003 06:27)

If you like radiohead, you should check out Snow Patrol. Esp. the album When Its All Over We Still Have To Clear Up.

>>By SlickShoesfnord   (Saturday, 17 May 2003 11:02)

RADIOHEAD has been described as "sublime sulky smog on pop's sunny day". A very intellectual band with a great sense of music-manship.

I really like Radiohead. The song that got me hooked was "High and Dry." Definitely love "Karma Police," "I Might Be Wrong" and "Idioteque" as well. My other fav flav is Guster.

>>By truehope012   (Saturday, 31 May 2003 11:17)

I can't really put into words how i feel about Radiohead. The new CD is a tiny bit disappointing, but only because there was so much hype and everyone said it was more like The Bends/Pablo Honey stuff...I don't agree. Because The Bends is definately my favorite thing they've ever done.
