I love R.L. Burnside! The blend of blues w. quirky loops and sounds and his voice was truely groundbreaking and innovative.

The first line of the garbled lyrics to "It's Bad You KNow" is "The union blew the whistle". The second line I can't make out. I think it's something like " And... (4 or 5 garbled words")... ran from there".

Correction: the actual lyric is: The union blow the whistle. I suspect my hunch about the 2nd lyric is wrong also. (Just went back and listened to the song.)

Those particular lyrics have been used many times in different Blues songs and by different artists. They appear in a song called 'Empire State Express' which was written and recorded by the Father of the Delta Blues, Eddie James "Son" House, Jr.
