Peters & Lee

Peters And Lee are my favourite duo of all time and my favourite lp is We Can Make It.All the songs they made were fantastic.

i love peters and lee and i think it was a such a shame that kenny died so young after they got back together. their harmonies were fantastic and at the time were on a par with the fantastic harmonies of the nolan sisters<20 giant hits>my favourite peters and lee song is killing me soflty.diane lee backs kenny peters amazingly and this song shoud be played more and definately this fantastic duo should be more appreciated by the music industry than the likes of cilla black and that awful lulu and other mediocre acts of the time

Dear Brian, how are you keeping today.Have you heard the lp Love and Romance made in 1979 by Arcade records.I bought it ages ago and i think the songs on it are not as good as We can Make It or Rainbow.I have been looking at my tapes of peters and lee today, and i played the 1989 version of Welcome Home which is on the Peters And Lee CD of the same name.Anyway the reason i came on here tonight is to ask you if you knew anyone who can transfer my Peters And Lee Tapes on to cd for me.Looking forward to your reply David De Silva.

Dear Brian,on what Lp Did Peters And Lee do the country song Give me back that old familiar feeling on,or was it just a single.I heard it on radio about twice i think.I think that record if they had made a single of it could have topped the charts for them.I have sent you another email telling you that i cannot make thursdays as i do a awful lot of songwriting and i want to get some published sometime. Also i wrote about how much would i have to pay your friend to put Peters And Lee on CD For me.Looking forward to your reply David De Silva.

Yeah, Lennies wasn't as good......but he did better singles if you ever get to hear them, Diannes is also very good. But she needs a male voice with her....I have her 2 CDs with Rick price too wich are cool.

Dear brian,my interest with peters and lee goes back to 1973 when my dad had We Can Make It and Rainbow on in our old Car.I was going to hospital at the time for a checkup.I also listened to the Lp Invatation which my Grandma had which is a great singalong lp and ive liked them ever since.Im always playing We Can Make It it brings backs so many memories for me as my favourite song is Welcome Home.Ive also watched the 1976 show that was the first time i saw them live.Yours david De Silva.
>>By David De silva (Sunday, 16 Mar 2003 23:57)
I know what you mean as their albums bring memories to me as well, each one...I loved meet peters and lee show in 1976, but the ATV statiobn has wiped the episodes now which is a shame as Id love to see them now. I have stills from it though. I have a few shots of Dianne when she went solo too....Iv also sent you a letter, hope you get it soon.

Dear Brian,I have been wondering all week how did lennie come to have something in his mouth during the last lp they ever made.Is it because he was suffering from cancer. It is like he has a lisp. Can you explain this.Yours david De Silva.
>>By David De Silva (Wednesday, 19 Mar 2003 00:05)
Lennie was suffering from Cancer as they made the last CD yes...it was very sad. Dianne told me that he was so ill, his bones were very brittle as well.....what a waist of talent....

Dear Brian,I think it has got to be their first lp We can Make It,i also like their Farewell lp also Invatation. When i play invatation i can feel like i can singalong to all the good old tunes. Its a pity they did not tell you the name of the pub on the sleeve.Anyway what is your favourite lp.Please email me back as to what is on We Can Make It and Rainbow. What extra songs are on them both.Speak to you later.David

YEAH just got into them again. Thought 'Welcome Home' was awful when i was a teenager in 1974 but appreciate it more now. Love the production on their singles. Their singles were great. 'Rainbow', 'Hey mr music man; and 'Dont stay away too long'. Still dont think Welcome Home was that great but they knock spots off todays so called 'popstars'/

Dear Brian And Mal,I was wondering if you knew the name of the puib that is on the front of the Invatation party LP.That is also one of my favourite lps loads of singalong songs on it.Its a pity they never brought it out around christmas of that year,it would have made a great chridtmas pressie for someone. What are your thoughts on this.Yours David de Silva.
>>By David De Silva (Thursday, 20 Mar 2003 23:18)
The pub name is on the sleeve if you look on the back of the album!! I think it was the bricklayers arms or something like that. We can make it is a good LP, but must agree with MAL, Im not a huge fan of welcome home, they did much better songs later on.

Invitation was brought out for the christmas market in 76....wich is odd that it diddn't sell as well. The bonus songs of we can make it and rainbow are can't keep my mind on the game and a rare welcome home for WCMI and Rainbow has our song and closer as they were from the rainbow sessions. Keep in contact Mal!

Always loved 'opportunity knocks'. Remember it was on monday nights on ITV at 6.45pm. Some great acts were discovered. Anyone remember a singer called 'Tammy Jones'. She was welsh and had a superb voice. She even had a hit single with 'Let me Try Again', beating Frank Sinatra's version into the charts. I know i'm supposed to discuss Peters and Lee on here but nevermind!
>>By MAL2POOL (Friday, 21 Mar 2003 21:46)
No I don't recall the singer...my main me3morys of opp. knocks were the likes of peters and lee and them winning wich is amazing as I was only 3-4 years old....I have all the LPs though and loads more.
