i recently discovered them..and i am most pleased..im 17 and i let my dad listen to them..he actually liked a band that I like! Ha! so that is quite interesting...they have an almost gypsie..magical..beatiful but haunting tone to it...Tarja has a beautiful voice and most lead singers do not have this talent she posesses..I am most happy i found this great band...hopefully here in Canada she and her amazing band will be discovered and opened up a little more!

I like Nightwish very much, but sometimes I get extremely bored with the way they ruin some of their most beautiful songs by overdoing things.
Instead of Nightwish I would much rather listen to THERION or within temptation ( sharon has a beautiful voice),
or AENIMA.

Nightwish are a unique band for me, haven't had much exposure to metal music except metallica which i didn't find 'special'. My favourite song is Wishmaster- - it changed my entire class at college into Nightwish fans :) I also like Deep Silent Complete, and parts of Fantasmic (yeah I too believe they over-do things a bit sometimes) but Crownless, Wishmaster, Deep Silent Complete are real masterpieces

A friend of mine introduced me to nightwish and now i absoullutly LOVE EM!!! i want to buy the albums once i get paid but i cant
find them in stores. :( oh well keep looking harder. If i cant get em in stores get emon the internet!!! I really like nightwish.

Great Great band, Absolutely the best metal band EVER, Tarja is incredibly talented, in phantom of the opera her voice jumps like 5 octaves its AMAZING! i had to listen to it like 4 times before i could believe it myself!
WishMaster, Moonpath, End of All Hope, Nightingale Sings, Over the Hills and Far Away, Phantom of the Opera are my favorites for sure, but all her other ones are great aswell!
Do yourself a favor and check out End of all Hope, and youll fall in love for sure!

Nothing ever sounds so close as Nightwish.... And the best part is... the kind based one of their album to Dragonlances series which the greatest book ever written. But is it true Tarja gonna quit from the band?

when i first heard one of their song...i think it was forever yours...i couldn't believe what i heard........it suited so perfectly with my mood...silly me...
well for some time my favourite was only wishmaster....now dead boy's poem and away compete for the first place too...
still quite don't believe such music actually exists....listening to it and everything falls into place..........even tough the place usually is random...what really is our meaning...?
like little ants in endlesness...working like hell and accomplishing nothing until we drop to you know what...
oh ...gotta stop before becoming too morbid...
they're still the fucking best band on earth... doubt there will be any better in the near future...ok...in the further future too...

Nightwish is the best band ever!!!
One of my uncle's friends gave him a Nightwish album, Wishmaster. I didn't like them much at the beggining, but now I really love them!
You know, I am from Greece, and I don't have the chance to see them live.
And to you elli, you said you are from Greece too!

Great lyrics, amazingly beautiful voice, Nightwish is a band that I never get tired of listening to. Comparing them to Evanescence is utterly stupid, nothing in common between the two bands. Highly recommended.
