I almost got to see these guys in 99. It really sucks the guitar player died like two or three weeks before the show. (It doesn't suck because i didn't get to see them, it sucks becuase he died and he was a talented guy, plus i didn't get to see them)

it wasn't thier guitarist it was thier bass ---he had asthma and it attacked --respratory failure set in and then he died---but now they are known as meet the virus and i have seen them live 2 or 3 times and they are still as good----why change the name you ask?---well they thought thier bass player died but they still wanted his music to live on and so the left from there and and now they are meet the virus!!!!

Olive, you are terribly wrong. It was definitely the guitar player (Phil Suchomel) that died. If their bass player died, they'd still probably be together, as they were constantly cycling members through their rhythm section.

If it interests anyone, Rodent Popsicle just re-released (sorta) the "Gut Wringing Machine" album. Its the same songs as on the Grilled Cheese / Cargo release of the album, but its an entirely different recording, and it has the artwork that the original was supposed to have. In my opinion its way better than the GC/Cargo release, and everyone should pick it up.

Also, before Phil died, he scored the music for Penelope Spheeris' "Decline of Western Civilization Part III", its hard as shit to find, they were raffling them off when NA did the tour this year, but if you can find it, pick it up, its well worth it.
