They are awesome!!! They have a neat funky-jazz sound with interesting, sexy lyrics, I personally think they should be more exposed to the music public so they can get the credit they deserve.

They are incredibly sensual, I have to agree with that hardcore. They are much sexified. :D I <3 Maroon5, looking forward to their next album!!! ~Sha

This love is the best song ever! But I feel like I can relate to any one of their songs very easily. Songs About Jane is definitely a great album!

>>By Mekko (Thursday, 25 Mar 2004 09:45)
his voice is cool...i'll agree with you on that. but on 'this love' he really sounds cartoony."i was so high i did not recognise". especially that part. no offense to him or anything...or to maroon 5 fans,
>>By eatengold (Monday, 29 Mar 2004 08:11)
even if his voice is a little odd, that song is still awesome and the album rocks

He has a really annoying voice, I'm afraid - but some of their songs are alright.
>>By Flake 1.6 (Sunday, 18 Jul 2004 14:09)
he . do only i think that maroon 5 is like as jamiroquai ?????
is there anybody who think a little same ???
can it be true ????
>>By poison-angel (Sunday, 25 Jul 2004 23:29)
i can be wrong but there is a little likeness (voice and some more )or what do you think ???
>>By poison-angel (Sunday, 25 Jul 2004 23:35)
You talking about singing or talkie, I've mever heard the maroon chap speak but yea he does sing a bit like JK on some songs and harder to breaths sounds like a bit of jimiroquai type stuff
>>By Mickalos (Monday, 30 Aug 2004 14:36)
Mm, they are similar. Except Jamiroquai don't get played on the radio enough, which is such a shame! Oh well, Maroon 5 is better than a lot of the rubbish like Britney Spears we have to put up with...
>>By Sk8a H8a (Monday, 30 Aug 2004 21:43)
I think maroon 5 are gr8.
all their songs have gr8 lyrics.my best mate mariam likes their mention of "stick in my fingertips"in this love.
I just think that their a good band and i hope they gett really far.

In answer to someone suggesting the lead singer's voice to be cartoon like. I think he does have a good voice and I see where your coming from because it does have that slight unusual sound to it, but if you think about it, that's what makes a singer special. I mean sometimes when you listen to the radio and a song comes on that you have never heard before you often can't tell who the singer is until the end when the radio presenter tells you but in Maroon 5 and with some other bands/artists you can recognize rigt away who the person(s) singing are because of their recognizeable voice. It's what sets them apart from other bands/artists, like it is their trademark.
Oh and I have to point out, if you think the lead singer's voice is Cartoon like then what about Wheatus! Once again that is probably their trademark also.

i love em, think theyre music is great. lead singers voice is unusual, but i like it.
i am totally addicted to 'this love' and 'she will be loved' havent stopped playing and singing them for weeks, cant get enough of it.

Love the new album...
As for their summer concert, here is my review:
They opened with their new single "Misery" weakly. Adam sounded like he was already out of breath. Luckily, as soon as he got into his element as the night progressed he improved....holding notes and all! He did as many pelvic thrusts as Elvis, as many squeals as Michael Jackson and oooos as Justin Timberlake. They sang two hits off their new album...one sounded very disco inspired...how do I know I'm right? A rather large disco ball was present on stage during the song =)
Otherwise...every single hit they ever came out with was sung. The encore song was "Makes Me Wonder"
The setlist was very well organized.
From Misery to Never See Your Face quickly progressed into a cover of Alicia Keys' "If I ain't got you"(really well done...esp since he is male and can carry the same tone Alicia does )
and slower songs like "Secrets", "She Will Be Loved"
The party really started with "Harder to Breathe" and their last song "This Love"
which was heavily influenced by guitar interludes and audience interaction.
The timbre or audio quality was good considering the outdoor venue. I've been to MSG and the audio quality is lacking, being the audiophile I am.
This concert was good in the sense everyone seemed to enjoy it, they stuck to their better known songs for all to enjoy and sing along.
Adam was rather cocky and comedic...placating with the women and playing off the fact that the only reason the men present were because their girlfriends dragged them to the concert. He's a man who knows his looks greatly add to the performance...making it an aural and visual treat to the female population.
For those who are not really familiar with Maroon 5, if you don't mind soul, jazz and guitar inspired pop then you would enjoy this band. They are the kind of band you don't really listen to attentively...sorta of background music that provides a soundtrack to your daily life activities. Some people are into that ...some are not. If you like to just chill out and hear some mm bops with sexually driven lyrics then this band is for you. They are more mainstream than the opening acts but still can be enjoyed by Indie and Mainstream audiences alike =)
Hopefully this was sorta insightful considering I'm trying to encapsulate what I can recall while it is still fresh yet not go on a diatribe...I can scrutinize every single song but I'll spare you the details. I'd recommend seeing them if you just like the band (not if you're an audiophile...quality of music isn't pristine as other bands but not completely talentless like Motion City Soundtrack who suck live...seriously...youtube that shit!)
Rumor has it that the band will break up so see them before that happens and enjoy their hits while they last! It's a good night out and you'll know what to expect =) no surprises or esoteric material a die hard fan would only know.
