Hello,

We have the daughter of jazz legend Louis Prima, Lena Prima, on tour all over the United States. As a fabulous vocalist and entertainer in her own right, she performs a fabulous multi-media tribute to the music of her father. Her show include his biggest hits, rare video footage from the Ed Sullivan Show, a fabulous band and heartwarming stories about growing up as the daughter of a legend.

We would love to be linked to your website as well as to anyone else you think would help promote Lena. She is doing her part to keep her father's memory alive, and with fans like you helping, his music will live forever!

You know, its unfortunate that Louie nor Leon Prima were ever mentioned in Ken Burns Jazz, cause Louie wrote "sing, sing, sing", but when I read "In His Own Words" by Louis Armstrong, I can read something about Louie Prima and how he originated from New Orleans and took his happy ways to New York and Vegas.
My mom saw Louie Prima as a kid in Vegas. Sure he was a 'Lounge Act", but he was alot more than that, too. Alot more. He was a musician and a "personality", something America could really use more of these days.

As an Italian/American growing up on the streets of East Boston my parents loved Italian singers such as Louie and Dino. My love for music started because of them. When I turned professional in 1970 I always wanted to put together a band in the style of Louie, but back in the 70's and 80's people weren't "hip" to his songs. I played Italian feasts in Boston so that gave me an opportunity to perform such songs as "Oh Marie" and "Just a Gigilo/ I Ain't Got Nobody". Today I still perform and still would like to pay tribute to this great musician/songwriter/and singer. Louie was an "unsung hero" in the early days of Rock n' Roll. But he was admired by many of his peers. He always had the "best" musicians. Today I own about 15 Prima albums and a few CDs. My only regret is that I never saw him perform even when he came to my home town in 1972. I had a gig that night. How I wish I could go back and cancel that gig. You see, the money I made that night is long gone, probably $50 bucks, but the memory of seeing Louie would be priceless. One last thing, Louie Prima should be inducted in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, he is a "National Treasure".

I have been a Louis Prima fan since the day I was born as my father "Jimmy Vincent" was the drummer for Louis Prima and Louis and his family have always been close friends with the Prima family.

I didn't see a thread on Jimmy Vincent, so I would like to invite Jimmy Vincent and Louis Prima fans to visit our sites. We also have a special forum just for entertainers to advertise. We'd love to have you join us at:

I love Louis/Keely/Sammy and the boys. Keely's voice is still incredible, just this Christmas I heard her do some carols on TV, and it reduced me to tears to hear her voice . Being from south LA we see them cats like they was the ones dat got away! They made it big in Vegas instead. But what I really wanna know is who played dem frickin' drums on the " The Wildest"? That fella can really kick it! I dig how he flirts with the mood on " Just a Gigilo/I Ain't Got Nobody", and all the rest of the tracks, but I can't seem to find any info. on The Witnesses. Can sumbody please help me?
