They've got 3 official releases: Coterie (1991), Need for Not (1992) and Meanwhile Gardens (1994 Australian release only). I've got my collection almost complete..but bootlegs always welcome!!!

Well I didn't know about the Aussie release thanks guys, I've got a promo single of World Around that has two other tracks on it, I think one is called Usher, the other title slips me at the momennt

Saw them live at Brixton at a Hawkwind24hour gig, where my organs vibrated it was literally that loud and the sound was so perfect........
i bought the vinyl LP's (quadrophonically recorded!?). The 'need for not' LP came with a (ltd. edition etched) 7" 'Cutwater' with no b-side.
I have the 'World Around' EP - 'world around', 'usher' and 'jay'. 'JAY' IS ESSENTIAL to have as they opened with it live and it is one of their best EVER songs. It shows the power of the band to me more than any (although short).
I have their (i think) last release from 1993 too, 'even when your eyes are open', 'evergreen' and 'mantra', which are not essential. The EP's title track is good but it isnt really a 'levitation' song
There are at least 2 other EP's as both LP's were compilations so keep looking.

Just noticed on Amazon that the 'world around' CD has 'resist' 'purgatory' and 'mantra' on it, unlike the EP which has 'usher' and 'Jay' !

hi Guys. I was lucky enough to know Steve Ludwin around the time he got the gig as replacement for Terry Bickers. I was and still am a big Levitation Fan, and I asked him for a tape of new material. He gave me a tape of Meanwhile Gardens. BUT, and wait for it. this had Terry Bickers singing and playing on all the tracks. They then deleted his vocals and most of his guitars, and then released it in Australia only with Steves vocals . I have a recording of the original Meanwhile Gardens Lp as it was meant to be released with Bickers. And what do you know, it's so much better. There are unreleased tracks as well. If anyone is interested in this stuff let me know.

Hi, I would love to hear that tape, Need for Not was an incredible album. I was very suprised to hear that the band had broke up after. Resist was a great song. It was a shame when they broke up, I was really looking foward to the next album. I never thought that he had actually worked on Meanwhile Gardens. I loved everything Bickers did, I first heard him on the House of Love albums. I also heard he did some work on a Hiedi Berry album. After Levitation he formed a new band called Monkey 7 and they did an album but it's very hard to get a hold of. I was very excited to hear that the House of Love have reformed with Terry and Guy and are now recording a new album.

Levitation Fans! Blimey!
I've got loads of levitation stuff if you guys need any. I used to run a Levitation website about 5 years ago. Saw them loads of times. Including Tufnell Park Dome where Terry ended it all. Check out Darkstar. Fantastic. Bic, dave and Laurence. All from Levitation. They've been dropped now but were superb. I've got a ape of Terry's bedroom demos aswell. Levitation songs in the making. drum machine, giutar and vocals. Really strange to hear those songs in extreme infancy. I saw Steve Ludwin join them for 3 gigs at Splash at the Waterats, which was awesome. but the whole essence of the band had vanished. Shame. Terry formed Monkey7 years later but they were,in my opinion of course, dreadfull. If you want any stuff give us a mail or post here. I got Bootlegs Demos, everything released officially. a cd copy of Meanwhile Gardens with Terry on vox. Also everything DarkStar done.
BTW: www.launch.com used to have 3 Levitaion videos showing. all free. worth a look
