THE GODS IN ELEKTRO

Kraftwerk's MAN MACHINE is an exceptionally rare record. It is an excellently conceptualised album with an eclectric sound.

They're the shyit!
They weren't the first electronic artists but they did a lot of pioneering though. They had like the raddest gear. They contributed hugely to the electronic scene. They helped create trance :)

What I love about Kraftwerk is the fact that their music sounds so modern and was composed and performed in the 60s and 70s. The total electronica, I feel, is really for only the hardcore electronic music fan. Bands like Aphex Twin and few others I can't think of right now owe a lot to these pioneers of futuristic melody.

The electric days of the 80's......We all loved Tour De France and the Computer World albums, But Kraftwerk goes back even further. Check out Trans-Europe Express,Man-Machine,Electric Cafe,Radioactivity.
These guys are one of a kind.

I listened to the Electric Six version of "Das Modell" (in English) and loved it. Then I listened to the heavy German version by Rammstein and loved it. After that I downloaded the Kraftwerk version, which I think is the original. Sadly I found it to be absolutely "£^%$) by which I mean... uh, bad. For crying out loud, their electronic sound is sooo annoying.

rammstein are the best, you should know that by now.

Hey - Man Machine is a RARE RECORD?

Damn - better give it back to my brother - stole it from him like 4 years ago, it's not expensive is it? I love all the elelcro bleepy bits. Kind of like Depeche Mode without the black, sombre feeling. I like the Model (Cliche I know), but what's so rare about man machine, and is this the CD, or the 7 inch single? Is my brother going to be angry when he finds it in my car? Ahhhhgggh.

I saw them in Manchester and was amazed how polished they were. The sound and visuals were excellent, if only lacking in the few people dancing. I didn't stop bopping all night. Who needs Daft Punk when you have their masters at your feet. Does anyone remember the second track after they played Man Machine?

>>By kofea   (Wednesday, 7 Apr 2004 19:21)

No, too impressed ..... Why?

>>By XS41   (Saturday, 10 Apr 2004 00:32)

Did anyone here see their concerts in 2004 or 2005? This band is amazing! To me, they are more like a team of complex sound engineers of musik, not so much a "band". I am still in awe that Florian was standing 2 feet away from me in Chicago. :0)

The CD, Radio Activity is sooo cool. There is morse code in the back ground of the music. I'm fluent in Mose code so naturally love the CD. I guess one of the members of the band was a Ham Radio operator and loved CW
(morse code). Also the many different sounds that are found on the shortwave bands are well done.

They were ahead of their time that is for certain.
