Kingston Trio
Forum
Loved them since I was 7 and heard "Bimini" coming out of my neighbor's HI-FI in 1960. They were the reason I picked up the guitar and started to sing when I was 9. Played with them first in 1971 as the opening act for the "NEW" Trio at the Cellar Door in Washington, DC. Had a long lunch/dinner with Frank Werber at the old Trident Restaurant in Sausilito picking up lots of behind the scenes info about the Trio. Opened for them again in Huntsville, Al. the day after a fatal tornado ripped through town, and I had to start the show by asking for blood donations! Had Bob Shane close to recording one of my songs called "White Port" during the Trio's 40th anniversary year, but since Bob had just quit drinking, he didn't feel right about singing a song about an old alchoholic in a bar. We went out to the movies and saw "The Rock" instead. Got to wipe the sweat off Nick on stage during a feverishly hot show at Wolf Trap on his last tour, when I thought he was going to pass out. Was offered #1 Kingston Trio commemoritive Martin D-28 by Bob, which he was playing on stage at the time (George was playing #3). But I never got to see the original Guard Trio, which Bob told me was the real essence and magic of the phenomenon known as THE KINGSTON TRIO. Long may they play!!!

Do you know the type of frailing/strum/pick used by Dave Guard or John Stewart on the chorus of MTA?

Preferably any of the Dave Guard MTA versions. I can't determine if it is part frailing/picking or all frailing during the chorus. I would appreciate any method you have access to fit. Thanks!1
