Why bother, shut up and listen to them. Festive 50 and respect and condolences for all, regards Ian Curtis.

Genius personified. Ian Curtis made an enormous contribution to music, we stand forever in debt to him.

Ian Curtis' lyrics is divine-- the world was a lesser place without him.

I really have to admit I haven't heard about Joy Division before than about a month ago. And yeah I feel shamed. It's incredible. Wanna thank Janne bout showing its great production for me. -ThanKs-

I don't think you have to be that a shamed about that when you are 15.... anyway, one hell of a band they were.... (and one of the few who were also succesfgul after their frontman died......, which should tell you how important and good all the members of the band were, not only Curtis)...

I was able to find 'Heart And Soul'!

It's the only one that they had in a five-states area and now it's mine.
It's amazing. All of it.

the joy division box set is worth its weight in gold.

>>By giambotta   (Wednesday, 1 Jun 2005 22:14)

really? is there anything of interest in there to anyone who already has all the previouws releases?

>>By thom   (Sunday, 5 Jun 2005 04:19)

Well, if you already have Unknown Pleasures, Closer, Still, and Substance, then I would no recommend it. The only "new" material that you'll find would be: part of the Peel Sessions, a complete live show from the Factory in Manchester, and some other previously unreleased live recordings.

Oh, and of course, the booklet. It has all their lyrics, discography, sessionography, and three very interesting articles/interviews, as well as some pictures of Ian and the band.

Does anyone know anything about the upcoming movie about Ian Curtis?
Last I heard, the movie was already in pre-production...

I love Joy Division.

I just realised I hadn't posted here!

What's the new 'bio-pic' movie like, & is it true that it's based on Curtis' wife's book? Her story was rife with bad grammar & poor prose so maybe the movie avoids all that at least.
