Jack Johnson

Forum

Jack is an insparation for all us down to earth
funky blues lovers who love nothing more to wake up to
consistent 4 footers grinding off the point slipping on the
wettie whilst pumping some crancking tune getting so amped
to go out and play with mother nature

This guy is unique! Not in a bad way , but in an insanely good way. His sound could only be confused with acoustic rap. Which there is none of I am sad to say. So he is a pioneer or an astronaut into a world where aliens are loved and accepted. Financially he may not make it, but he will always have a loyal fan base because of his deviation. He is a variance and people love to associate themselves with the minority. I praise him for his good music, solid songwriting, and inventive, brave spirit.

I heard it once and I love it but I don't know the name of the song and I really want the lyrics to it!

I cant even put into words the way Jack makes me feel when I pop in Brushfire Fairytales or On and On...He is just such an amazing singer...I love his sound...the lyrics are so beautiful...I once read of his music being called "an acustic meditation" and I couldnt say it better! Hes so inspirational!! Jack Johnson rocks my socks! =P Cant wait to see him in concert one day!

Need to get the damn commies to listen to this so they can just chhhhiiiillllll!! and I can listen to my Jack in peace-- First bought On and On on recomendation from my little Brother back in the states... But after two songs I went and bought brushfire-- they can battle it out for airtime in the HUMVEE---

I cannot even express how incredible Jack Johnson's music and lyrics make me feel. He has the most amazing voice I think I have ever heard, and the best part is, I just went to his concert with Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals a few days ago, and his voice is exactly the same as it is on the CD. I have both his albums and I can't count how many times I have listened to them, but his mellow acoustic playing and awesome lyrics make me so stoked and I am looking forward to seeing him again very soon in concert!!! He has definetely reinvented surf music and molded it into something so great that it gives me chills to hear him. Nothing better than to hear Jack when I'm on the beach ready to grab my board and hit mother nature.

OK, I too truly love Jack Johnson's music. But I just saw him this week at the Hollywood Bowl in L.A. (he opened for Ben Harper), and I really think he needs to hire a lead guitarist. Please don't kill me! I'm just saying that his songs sound exactly the same in concert as they do on the CD's, which is good if you're listening to the CD but bad when you want him to get down and jamb in concert. I'm not faulting Jack -- he's an awesome songwriter and a great rhythm guitar player, but his music would really benefit from some deeper and more complex musical features.

I really love the song "Cookie Jar" from his On and On CD. It's about who's responsible for the condition of society today. Everyone passes the buck. All we hear today is: "It's not my fault the kid had a gun, I sold it to his father." And "I just report what the people want to hear, I don't make the news." Right. Way to go, Jack, for telling it like it is.

I love Jack Johnson, there really isn't more to it. He is great at everything he does and is an inspiration to many. Because of him I have been begun learning to play the guitar. I missed his concert last year in Texas, so I am def! going to the one in Sept. in Colorado. I am buying my tickets in 2 weeks! I have 5 favorite artists..Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Sublime, and Bob Marley and Jack Johnson is at number 1!!! Again, I LOVE JACK JOHNSON!!!!!!!

Jack is amazing! It all started with a little album called Brushfire Fairytales, which I got at random cause someone I was chatting with online told me it was good. I'm a beginer guitar player, and my goal is to one day play a Jack Johnson song well. Not great, not perfect, just well.
