Iron Maiden are one really cheesy band.

Any body that don't dig Iron Maiden can like my Doc Martens! PISS OFF! I been listenin' to the cats for almost 20 years, although after 7th Son of a 7th Son they kinda lost me.What ever happened to the great Clive Burr? Alex Van Halen ripped off the guy so heavily! I just realized how influenced Maiden was by Thin Lizzy ; yet they also have a Sex Pistol-like vibe too. Nobody's done anything as brilliant as Number of the Beast or Killers for the last 10 years. UP THE IRONS!

And who's saying it's not the best heavy-metal band ever IT IS THE BEST HEAVY METAL band that ever gonna excist and my top 3 songs is
Waysted years,Number of the beast and the rime of the acient mariner

They TURNED cheesy. And that when I quit buying there records. And yes to see them now IS painful,They look like bloody Spinal Tap. They copied Thin Lizzy and Judas Priest a bit. But over-all they were TITS! And it's in your perception of what cheese is . Most any band on current top 40 is cheesy as far as I'm concerned. That why the industry's goin' broke.

Well 'cheesy' doesn't mean the same as 'crap'. It means... well it's defined by Iron Maiden, just look at them. Laughable.

"Just look at them" is what's wrong with music today. It's all about looks, not about talent or artistic expression. Iron Maiden will be remembered for having COOL album covers, COOL songs and prowess with their instruments, and COOL live concerts, the like of which are seldom seen in these boring times.

True but Adrian Smith was never about being "COOL" , it was about being himself, it's just a circumstance that his band happened to be the best thing since sliced bread.

I, unlike many metal heads, like metal for the lyrics. And Iron Maiden, along with Iced Earth, is probably one of the most intelligent sounding metal bands out there. The Dance Of Death album was brilliant, lyrically, and I also thought their adapation of the Coleridge poem "Rime Of The Ancyent Marinere" was fabulous as well.

That said, I am only truly fond of Bruce Dickinson era Iron Maiden. Blaze Bayley and Paul DiAnno just didn't do it for me.

Up the irons!

Sorry guys. But the best Iron Maiden was with Paul D'anno.
