Meantime is one of the best albums of the 90's. I don't care what my grandmother says.

agree, these guys are the dons. One of the few bands from the early 90's whose music I still have. are they officially done with as a band?

Great band.....Aftertaste is one of the most underated albums in rock history. Look for Paige Hamilton's band Gandhi to release an album soon. And don't rule out future Helmet projects.

Helmet is the most influential band that has impacted my life. John Stanier and Page Hamilton are the reason I play music. I am from Nashville, TN and I have only seen them once live, because when Betty came out I was only thirteen, by the grace of God I saw the Aftertaste show, they opened with Broadcast Emotion and fucking tore the place down, hten with no hesitation or pause they went in to Wilma's Rainbow, then Pure. 328 Performance Hall was a wave of bodies in which the band had complete control. My friend by the end of Wilma's Rainbow had a cut over his eye, he had never heard of Helmet until I took him to the show, looks over and says to me "This band hits harder than Pantera ever will". I smiled back and enjoyed the greastest show I've ever seen. To those of you who dont know check out TomaHawk. I just saw them and the Melvins at Exit-In. They fucking rock.

They can read music but didn't go to Juliard (sp?). Page went to a music to learn jazz and John did marching band for awhile (explains his monster chops). And the new Helmet CD won't be out until June or July, something like that.
