Hello,

I am fond of Gong. Do you know where I could find the lyrics? (You, Shamal, Angel's eggs...)

Thank you in advance

Great its working now.

Ok. I'm a big progressive rock (metal) fan, and a jazz-rock fusion fan. Gong delivers in both camps.

Other trippy prog/fusion bands to try out that I like are Steve Hillage and Ozric Tentacles. I haven't found other stuff that comes close AND with the trippy element, but here are some suggestion for prog rock and fusion stuff that some Gong listeners might enjoy.

70ies fusion: Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return To Forever
Modern fusion: Tribal Tech, CAB
Prog rock: Gentle Giant, Yes, Frank Zappa's Hot Rats album
Prog metal: Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Opeth

Would like to hear from anyone with music suggestions: stevie69_m@hotmail.com

Steve

i first experience the "total meltdown" gong speaks of on the you lp while listening to the jeff beck/jan hammer tune, "led boots." i was 16 years old and tripping on some lovely concoction i had purchased at my high school. the sounds began to make my visual reality form into giant drops of liquid which came gushing out into and from all directions turning my nice comfy 3 dimensions into an infintite dimension of fantasmagoricalicious bliss sensed by an organ i'd not known about until that moment. does this organ have a name? from that moment on what isee is not what used to be. gong is still fantastic vehicular tripping musick. daevid allen poetry is funny, insightful, scary, soothing, enlightening; but most of all allen's poetry is human. intelligent life, life which has the ability to observe it's own behavior, is the fruit of the universe. intelligent light becomes intelligent life becomes intelligent light becomes intelligent life eternally. gong helped me to feel things i didn't know were possible. the music. the words. and the spirit of the band guided me through some lost times and i thank the havva cuppa tea company of teabet and all the charactors of the planet gong for filling my teapot up with tea and allowing me along for the ride. the pixie know what the pixie say "zero the hero is alive and well"

c'mon...we won't bite you...we won't fight you...we can't right you...you can't wrong you...don't be shy come ask us why we only wanna see you smile for awhile here and now and zen on the isle of everywhere under selene come along to planetgong and tune in to the octave doctors and the total meltdown which can be got by hangin out with this band's trilogy preferably cranked up on high high high quality eeeeequipmental type sound machinery which can be obtained via radiognome who shall tune your asral ears to the sound of the gongvibration and thereby no doubt lead you into other realms of similar type sane madness until finally you will see the answer and smile and say it's real the answer was there all the time as the rising fishy tells his story so take a fill yr teapot up with teacome and take a ride with me its not the only way to discover puzzles and blowin bubbles and i are you and you are i and we are you and i aare you and we are you and we are all models of the universe itself how can we not appreciate this fine effort of spirit in such times as these when life is still so taken for granted by the very people who wield power over us and art and our ability to reach out to those who think they know something and teach them that we are but flashes of light and have the chance to experience each other but to think one knows is absurd like a bird dropping a turd because as the sir daevid says:
the more ya know the more ya know ya don't know"
