Gene Autry "World's Greatest Cowboy" and his mount Champion "World's Wonder Horse" made one of the most popular teams in Western film and television during the thirties, forties and fifties. Also known as "America's Singing Cowboy," Gene Autry was celebrated for his music on and off screen. He recorded hundreds of songs, but his biggest selling gone-platinum record was "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer".

Champion became just as famous as Gene Autrey, performing stunts for live audiences and rescuing his rider on screen. Whether it was nibbling ropes around Gene Autry's wrists or racing to get help, Champion was always there to help get the "bad guys." Without question Champion was just as a much a hero as his rider.

In 1978 the "HOLLYWOOD" sign, a true LANDMARK, was completly falling apart. The following stars bought letters sponsored benifits, and signed their name on the letter they bought. These stars are: Andy Williams, Alice Cooper, Hugh Hefner, Gene Autry, Warner Bros Records Inc, Terrance Donnelly, Dennis Lidtke, Giovanni Mazza, and Les Kelley. This is a rare picture and will be something you will always treasure. It shows the complete restoration and final result of the "HOLLYWOOD" sign as it was erected after it was restored. Top part depicts the old sign before restoration and the bottom picture shows the completed sign at night with spotlights. Picture is 32x44 and weighs appox. 40lbs "A RARE FIND!" Framed by: Murray Skoff Ent.
