Fugazi

Forum

i am frustrated that I cant find any fugazi songs to download on the net.
I am loathe to continue dancing on these paths that lead full circle... to the computer being turned off...
and Im permanently honoured to have heard them live once.... it was in one of my lowest of times.

What else can I say? They transcend and bring trancendance to those who are open to the frequencies and sequences and sound.

Thank you

Fugazi has influenced many bands over the years. There lyrics and music are both amazing and they compliment each other perfectly. For example The "Furniture EP" with its songs about inanimate objects... different from anyone else, more amazing than everyone else.

Fugazi=Good

fugazi, nowwhere to begin, this is th band that many years ago lay the roots for the musical choices, and maoral choices i make today, they have set an example to usall of ho tyo be yourselves regardless of what everyone else is doining, whilst not closing your mind off to external influences.
i was privaldged enough to see fugazi play in london a few months ago, it was the most incredible experience of my life, i felt as though i was a part of something special, not just a fan at a show.

they are more than just a band an i hope that their music spaks to you all as much as it doews to me

Did Fugazi name them selves after the Marillion album?

Fugazi life is really good, don't miss it when they hit your town....

To bad they won't play tilburg no more, for the hall is sponsored by Pepsi.. (so I have heard that's the reason).....

Fugazi is some sort of military acronym. I thing it means Fucked Up Got Abused Zipped In. But I'm not sure.

>>By MightyAfroWhitey   (Wednesday, 24 Sep 2003 09:15)

..."fugazi" is vietnam war-era military shorthand for Fucked Up, Got Ambushed, Zipped In.

such an awesome band.

Is it ambushed or abused?

>>By xnothingx   (Tuesday, 21 Oct 2003 10:22)

For some reason I think that ambushed is right and not abused.....

Indeed, such an awesome band......

the best thing about fugazi is that the work of this band is not immediately easy to comprehend. To even begin to understand what their contribution means, you must first explore the past and present of Ian Mackaye. My suggestion to those of you whom have recently given Fugazi a first listen is to check out Minor Threat, (Mackaye's first band) and to explore some of the other great bands on Dischord Records (Mackaye's label). There, you will find what is a the root of Fugazi's music, as it sounds today.

And why exactly would listening to other bands on Dischord make me "understand" Fugazi's music better?

>>By Distrust   (Thursday, 25 Dec 2003 07:23)

best live band ever

>>By jspgh   (Saturday, 1 May 2004 07:29)

I guess he wrote that because the other dischord bands are all more hardcore/punk, where the memebers of Fugazi once started as well, but it leaves me a bit confused as well....

Fugazi are great indeed! Saw them play in Paradiso, Amsterdam and at a radio show with only 20 people in the audience, one of the few bands that better live then on their records, at least that's how feel about it.... Cool to see other people enjoy one of the greater bands i've listened to!

To bad they won't come to Tilburg any more...... Some thing to do with the hall being called "The Choice", at least that's what I have been told...

I have heard good things about this band, and the Cows too.

Have you all fallen in love with their instrumentals? Arpeggio and Brendon #1 (its funny that theres also a Joe number 1, but no number 2's), Sweat and Low, and jesus what a great band.
